  1. breathing mods will help mileage the most. I got my other car from 32 to 42mpg with a full exhaust and intake (that includes header and intake manifold). I hope to get some good response from the pathfinder with a custom header and exhaust and some form of intake. I haven't come up with a viable design just yet. But basically I've found that by tuning header primary lengths you can get power to peak at your cruising rpm and get even better mileage than you would otherwise. Same goes with the intake side.
  2. I shoulda bookmarked it, but I forgot and now I can't find it. I think it was infinity parts of some kind?
  3. hmm...there are ways to add stiffening brackets to the R50, and some of them could even act as skids. This is tempting. [warns wife that I will be gone studying this for a few days]
  4. you can't compare to those AMR pics though as they are for a little car. Those things are fricken awesome though. 3k huh. Someday when I win the lottery maybe. (too bad there isn't a lottery in utah.)
  5. dunno yet. I'm still in the very beginnings of figuring out how to get my "flexzilla" lift. Combining these with your lift would be scary tall.
  6. naw, that's a good set. The scary ones are 300 bucks on ebay. haha. The really sexy ones are 2k though. Just a nice middle of the pack company.
  7. The main reason I was looking at SAS was because I was trying to figure out a way to get a 4 inch suspension lift to work. The easiest way to do it would be to convert to shocks and throw in a solid axle like a dana 44 from some unsuspecting truck.
  8. I was looking at that site last week and wondering...think they would throw in a winchless bumper for cheaper? I don't get stuck...lol.
  9. ya, those are just his honduh ones (and the only ones I could find pics of)
  10. What do you want to know? The guy has been making custom coilovers for a while. Basically I'd have to let him have his way my pathfinder for a few weeks and he would produce something sexy that looks like this. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1659160&page=1 I'll be able to get longer struts for the coils, but getting the same range of motion will be difficult. Looks like it will be a can of worms, but could have good results.
  11. I've got a company willing to stamp out 10 sets of R50 coils somewhere between 3.5-4 inch lifting depending on the general consensus. The price would be about 360 a set. (or just 400 if it's just me...so not much savings there I guess) Obviously you're going to have to drop your own diff etc and figure out camber... I'm also looking for a longer strut. The more I get into this the more I think option 2 is better. 1100 bucks and you get a fully adjustable coilover setup for all four with appropriate struts. "Some fabrication required" for the rear install. Is it even worth it? I'm really not a fan of block style lifts and would rather have it all be in the suspension.
  12. ew. Sounds cheaper to actually invent some kind of hydraulic system that pushes down the opposite wheel as the other rises, extends the axles, and inflates a woman in the passenger seat.
  13. Just curious if anyone has pulled off a sas on the R50 yet or if there were any particular reason as to why not.
  14. I just measured my stock pathy and got 33.5 ground to fender in the front with 31's and 19.5 center of hub to fender. Rear was an inch taller. weird.
  15. grab a multimeter and put it on AC setting and watch what happens on the power wire. It will miss bad while you do it, but you'll be able to see if it's electrical or the injector.
  16. the "same as OME" and "they are the OME" may be the difference in wording you're looking for.
  17. NGK is backwards. That's one range colder. You'd have to measure the depth etc to make sure it's ok. It's the same basic plug, but the EGP makes something different on it. Colder is ok if you beat on it. If you don't get it hot enough it will foul more quickly. I'd just order a set from somewhere else. Are you in canadia?
  18. I've got an xe with the chrome tipped bumpers and lsd... It must have been a standalone option.
  19. hmm, I've gotten off filters with channel lock pliers before. On the pathy that would be hard to do... I'd give that thing hell with the cap socket thing. If you didn't break it, you weren't trying hard enough.
  20. meh, just grab one of those vg30dett's from japan, rip off the stock turbos, mount a single turbo in the back (ala gt30r), and you'll have crazy power all over for the 5k you would have spent on a 350. Lag won't be an issue.
  21. WEIRD...my rig threw those two yesterday. It's not ELC...it's the evaporative system. Vatozone has a dumb scanner. I used my laptop. Mine showed up after taking the pathy swimming and washing it off. Ironically it showed up 3 days later.
  22. I'm not sure aluminum is the best metal for suspension components...I'd be up for 3 pair.
  23. http://store.racing-solutions.org/mandrelbends.html That's my favorite place to get bends. 2.5 inch would be good for torque, 3 inch would help out the top end. There's a program around somewhere that could help determine the best overall length/diameter I think. AEM was actually able to get rid of some dead spots in my other car through their intake tuning...but the pipe was a hair too small for redline fun. Oh ya, silicon couplers are all over ebay. You could also use some of that coast guard rated rubber hose that some auto parts stores have out back. It's a nice tough hose.
