Ah ha FORMER Navy guy (I'm a reservist now ) Welcome to the boards rmd...love the Recon vehicle! I too bought my Pathy relatively recently and want to mod it. I just don't have a ton of $$ to do it. I just ordered skids from AC (the shipping on the Blackpanther ones was killing me!) before anything else. I didn't even have a splash guard when I bought my Pathy. Next up is some new tires...BFG A/T's for a more aggressive look and better grabbage (my Bridgestone stockers are :furious: worthless offroad and in mud!) A slow but gradual modding to your truck is the way to go...gives you the ability to appreciate everything you do to it. Again, welcome! And thanks for your service

It's a nice truck, still "tries" to appeal to the younger buyer, has off road potential (albeit less than the originals) but almost 40K for an X? And what does that get you...VDC? HDC? HSA? Exactly...nothing like putting the center of gravity in as narrow of an area as possible to dig into mud/gravel/snow.

That's interesting because I was JUST wondering If that same exact tire would fit MY rim as well. I'm also interested in those tires. Funny thing is that my stockers were/are 255-65/16's. Let me know what you come up with. Or I could just follow this thread...that'd be just as good.

Yeah...please do tell...My old 87 SAAB (before they were GM Ecotec'ed out) was front to back top to bottom decked out Bosch everything...and SAAB's aren't exactly German automobiles :confused:

Your right...that's why the Pathy is the choice of local shopping mall parking lot donut carving makers around the world...I LOVE my Pathy in the snow in 2wd

OMG please don't tell me you think that $260.00 is a reasonable price for those simple things. You are FAR better off doing it yourself (as I think the general concensus is here!) If your not sure how to do something, just ask. There's more than enough knowledge between the gear heads on this board to get you through the task. It'll be a learning experience for you, too...nothing like touching your Pathy in dirty places where the sun don't shine Working on your own vehicle is just as rewarding as it is fun.....Just my .02

Man...it sounds like you drive the snot out of your pathy (it's not a Maxima you know ) Maybe you should consider being a teensie weensie more gentle w/ it, especially if yor burning oil and are considering the fact that you may have fried your piston rings Pathys have no business traveling at 110 mph!!! Again, maybe c onsider being a little more careful. I have thouroughly enjoyed reading these 3 pages of...ummm...literature!

Ahh yes, nothing like a little bling to take in the mud I love my Pathy because I feel like it's the best of both worlds...It's got enough automatic one button sh*t on it (s/r,climate control,windows) to make it feel like it's got a little "bling" but at the same time it's rugged and ready to get swamped...and never make me feel bad about it! And the 3.5 (though a fuel-pig) is quick too
