  1. Yay! Big 'ole chrome steelies! It's an XE! I thought they did...my mom used to have a '97 Q w/ the all-mode AWD transfer. Was it an infiniti only thing  Can't see why that would be so...
  2. I am reminded of that Green Day song. How's it go? Oh yeah... "When I come around...."
  3. I recently changed my oil using 10W-30 and added in a K&N drop-in, filled up and drove my usual drives (no 4-wheeling) Now, usually I fill up at 275 or so miles (needle will be right on the bottom line) Yesterday I filled up at 310 (needle still on the bottom line) It was all mixed driving (highway/city) just like always. That was DEFINATLEY an improvement over previous fill-ups. I know that people stay away from the drop-ins, but I really don't do a whole lot of wheeling (there's nowhere to go around here and I don't have time to drive 6 hours away) Whatever happened, I am very impressed. I'll be driving to CT tomorrow, all highway. I'm anxious to see what the Pathy will do compared to previous trips (cruise set @ 70 most of the way, 500 miles)
  4. You have an LE? Why not use the AWD feature instead of running in 4hi and risking damaging the t-case?
  5. Can you use pre-'01 (think, VQ) sensor's on a VQ powered Pathy? If so, a yard might be a place to start for cheap replacements. Older R50's are much easirer to find...
  6. Very well said...and very true. P.S. nice avatar
  7. Just when you thought there weren't enough Manual tranny owners... The o2 sensors on our rigs are terrible. 01-04's are particularly prone to this. I'm just waiting for my light to come on because of this.
  8. Umm...when were you told you weren't allowed to post?
  9. I figured...I wasn't really serious about that Heatshields are over-rated...and they always seem to crack. Could probably wrap the thing in aluminium foil
  10. Yeah...I had a few Cat. pipes replaced on mine around the same time for the originals totally rusting out...POS exhausts! Shoulda just cut if off there and put some turndowns on instead!
  11. You are correct. You made a good choice. Pathy's will be as good as you are to them in return.
  12. WHOA that thing's been around the block! Looks good though. Like everyones already said, it has rust Def. get a poker like Pickles said, get underneath it and poke around at the most oxidated spots. If you go through, time to get a second opinion. Bushings are probably shot. And that front skid/splash guard...is it even metal?!? Kind of just looks like a piece of rubber. Even so...Blackpanther skids will go perfectly on that Paint looks nice and glossy, any accidents w/ it? Your definately going to want to do all the routine maint. if/when you get it...plugs/seafoam (if you can get it) diff. fluids (sounds like they've been neglected) tranny fluid (something high mileage) Let us know how it goes!
  13. I can think of a million ways that can get rid of the hatch that are probably a lot easier than modifying it
  14. No. As I said, I backed into a chain link fence
  15. My wife would kill me and take my toy away
  16. Yeah...my idiot self backed up into my chain link fence and would love to get the..uhh.."scuffs" out of the bumper.
  17. You talking to me Veng? It's going to take a lot for me to warm back up to them again. I was beyond pissed w/ them...and on top of that they didn't send me the correct decal I ordered! I will give them another try though...I mean, who else is there to turn to? Some other Nissan enthusiasts need to invest in an Off Road superstore like AC Anybody interested in undertaking a small business loan w/ me??????
  18. No way...that's interesting/good to know :o
  19. Correct-o BP ships from somewhere in Canada...Trainman?? AC ships from Florida (If I remember correctly) Like I said though...their customer service was absolutely atrocious. FYI...I am about to try to change my oil w/ the skid installed. I'll post results on whether or not it's do-able w/o removing it. Oh yeah, I just bought a K&N from Auto Zone (hooray! another K&N sticker!)
  20. True...but creature comforts like heat and working turn signals tend to cha nge people's minds
  21. Beautiful! *jealousy sets in* Lookin good...let us know how it goes after your trip!
  22. Interesting...my Mom had that pop-open button in her '97 Q. It was down to the lower left of the dash by the dash light dimmer thingy. I wonder why Nissan never transferred it to other R50's? Oh yeah isn't it possibe to get arms to attatch that can lock, so as to keep the glass hatch open on it's own?
  23. I have the front AC skid...It's massive, and a pain to install but I think it get's the job done nicely. I don't spend all my time wheeling anyways...it works fine for me. And the shipping was a lot less...but Customer Service from AC was    :furious:
  24. I'm not sure if anyone has relocated one in an R50...I'd like to know as well, tho. I have the AC skid on mine and there is NO drain plug hole (much like 88's) what so ever. I'm gonna have to remove the whole thing, which sucks. I haven't tried to squeeze my arm in there yet to reach the filter. Guess I should go check the AC forums as well... -G
