  1. If you say so. That's even better then. Good to know it's detachable. It was welded on the X I looked at and couldn't really tell in the photo. It was definitely on the quiet side though. Are you sure yours is not leaking somewhere?
  2. Don't forget to grease the hood latch. Mine failed from the lack of lubrication but once I re-lubricated it again, it started working good as new. The adjusting doesn't really do much, it's more of a fine tune.
  3. I suggest going for an alignment if you have any front end issues now. Tinkering with the torsion bars will change the camber.
  4. Another idea could be to swap to a more accessible engine. The KA24E should be easier to get for you right?
  5. How bad are the wiper marks? Very fine sand paper should buff the glass to some extent but it can be labor intensive.
  6. Yes it's amazing how much aftermarket support there is for these motors. You can get all that fancy stuff and then some to make lots of power on the cheap. The only issue with these blocks is sometimes they are not perfectly square (and you can get this corrected) but if you are starting with an aftermarket block you should be fine.
  7. Most likely dealer/area specific then. That would explain why it's alien to some people and common around here. It's literally a cut into the body sunroof. I thought it was a newer model year thing the first time I saw them.
  8. It's welded but you can cut it off and weld in another one. It's not bad I would leave it on unless you have more money to spend. lol If I knew they made a cat back in 2.5" before I built mine, I would have just gone with that.
  9. That Gibson cat back is the next best thing to having a complete custom made exhaust. To give you an idea of how they sound, it's basically a stock muffler with a bigger diameter. My preference is for Flowmaster mufflers but the Gibson cat back is a damn good deal especially that it covers more than half the work you would have to do otherwise. The Gibson cat back is a great choice if you want a performance exhaust on the budget. I heard an Xterra with a VG33E and a Gibson cat back. I don't know how well that video is going to come out with camera microphone distortion and all that but from the outside and inside it was silent until you revved it up. If you ever went from a regular muffler on a car to a Dynomax muffler that's pretty much the same effect you will get with a Gibson cat back. If you don't like the muffler you can always replace it but I would still get the cat back just for the piping being already there and bent for you.
  10. Heh this is the second time I see this after seeing adam's get screwed up like that
  11. I am wondering if the ECU on the X has some sort of a protection system built in. This being Nissan and all they may actually have programmed the ECU to have the engine shut down before any serious damage was done.
  12. Just from looking at some parts diagrams, probably not. It's always the minor stuff here and there that will get to you. Is a Z24 kit not available where you are?
  13. If it's not available there are kits you can get on RockAuto. For OEM mounting, all you need to buy is the bracket that mounts to the driver side given that your center link has the U-shape mount. Then just get any stabilizer that fits the brackets. There is also a nice Bilstein steering damper package available from 4x4parts but it doesn't use the stock mounts.
  14. I do have a life. I wouldn't call some of the things I put up here useless. I contributed quite a bit to NPORA but nobody seems to appreciate it. It's ok though because I'm only doing it because I like my truck for many reasons. It's a true Nissan and it sure drives like one too. The only reason people like to pick on me is that I tend to put up arguments. Once someone disagrees with one thing I say, they will disagree with anything that I will put up. It's human psychology to hold grudges. I don't hold any grudges and you're not doing me a favor by looking at my work. I am doing you a favor by putting up the write ups. Again while I don't see the point of having a foot well light with the door open, I still want to put it in because what I have in mind would look really neat at night. If I'm not happy with it then I can easily take it back out. The wiring is there from the factory so it's worth a try anyway.
  15. Must have been a popular dealer mod around here then. Where is that truck from? Last time I went to a junkyard, those sun roofs were on every XE I saw at the yard. Maybe I can pull you the hinges next time I go if they are still around.
  16. I did say that it was useless but that doesn't mean I still wouldn't do this mod. Useless things (or at least ones useless to me) can still be fun. Besides the wiring is there anyway so why not experiment.
  17. Really? They are so common around here on XE models.
  18. Check the XE models at your local wrecker. That is a very common aftermarket sun roof.
  19. Any more updates on this yet? I like that coil on plug conversion.
  20. Damn the VG30 sounds good at full throttle. People actually move out of the road when I step on the gas pedal.

    1. NissanNismoZ

      NissanNismoZ

Just imagine how much gas it took to sound like that...Bye-Bye MPG!

Maybe they're stepping out of the road because there's a crazy bastard in a Pathfinder coming towards them.

  21. This gives me an idea though... I'm going to attempt to light up the foot well with PC case lighting stick things. Useful or not I will just do it because it can be done.
  22. I would not trust a thin aluminum beverage container to hold hot coolant. It's a good looking set-up otherwise but I would look for something stronger than that.
  23. A well known member (and vendor) here, Mr510, actually had his shroud break apart and he is on the other coast. I have no idea what is up with these shrouds now.
  24. I'm not complaining. I just don't see why anyone would want to look at their pedals while the door is open.
  25. I don't hate the factory sun roof but if only there was an alternative way to cover it aside from bolting a whole piece of headliner to it and there was a dark tint option instead of the cross stitched option it would have been perfect. The drain is a good idea but those hoses are really hard to take out and clean up if you ever have to do that. I forgot to mention that the sun roof is sealed from both the inside and the outside but the outside seal can fail really fast if left in the hot sun for too long, especially around the hinges. Then you will only have the inside seal and the drains keeping the water out. I don't know if the glass is any stronger than the aftermarket ones are but maybe the cross stitching makes the glass stronger?
