  1. I finally found a donor vehicle to do the rear speaker conversion on my 92. The local pick n pull has a 93 with the same color headliner and trim. Other than the headliner itself and the speaker bracket hardware, do I need and of the accompanying trim?
  2. Yea, HF sells these transfer pumps cheap and they work well for these tight spaces
  3. No, this is not important IMO if you change the oil as recommended. I would not lose sleep over this - just change your oil at recommended intervals or more frequently if it really bothers you. The only time you want to deal with these flushes is if you have an engine with sludge problems. Even then I would be wary of some of the urban legends out there regarding these flushes - like ATF. ATF just thins the oil down, there's very little, if any, detergents in ATF.
  4. Well, the passenger side cable is tough to find. The vendors that had it listed did not have it in stock and the Dorman replacement part listed is not the right cable. I found one cable from Nissan, but it's expensive. I received the replacement Beck/Arnley driver side cable and it looks good. My passenger side cable is salvageable, so I am going to clean it up and reuse it.
  5. fixed the hole in my exhaust with my new cheap HF flux welder. Weld looks totally hack, but it works just fine, so it basically just paid for itself. I need to do some practicing that's for sure.
  6. Yup, the engine light went out as soon as I got the tires rolling with the new cable.
  7. I hate to leave these threads hanging.....finally got around to installing this cable. It was super tight to deal with at the firewall due to the intake on the VG30E, but I was able to coax it in. A 10mm ratchet box wrench came in handy here.
  8. Everythingnissan has a free shipping code "BillyJack"....not sure if it works for Canada though. I ordered up some spare part for the e-brake, new springs, pins, etc. and used this code. The brake shoes themselves look fine. In hind site I could have got the Nissan cables a bit cheaper had I just ordered them from here.
  9. This sounds like your MC. Hopefully, you can exchange it for a new one.
  10. I think I found my answer in the garage forum. Beck/Arnley 0941246 and 0941247 are the ones I need, but I may be able to do a little better with Nissan parts. The drums must have some sort of compression/threaded fitting in the hubinstead of the bracket.
  11. Napa has some decent prices on replacement cables, but there cross reference with the Nissan part numbers (36530-42G16 right 36531-42G16 left) do not show the bracket that attaches to the back of the brake hub? Am I missing something here because it does not look like the OEM bracket is removeable or something that you reuse with a new part. My truck is 5spd manual with all wheel disc, and I think this is maybe a cable for trucks with rear drums?
  12. Drivers side is shot, passenger side is passable. Removed cables for now, so I can drive it , but time to find some new cables.
  13. Calipers and brakes look good. The drivers side parking brake is the issue. Rockauto lists cables for the older Nissans, but it's hard to tell of they are for the rear wheel disc. My guess is that this is a dealer item.
  14. My truck has been sitting a few weeks, so tonight I start her up and release the parking brake - didn't feel quit right - and could barely move. The sound is nasty, and it feels like I'm towing a bus. It's rear disc. I'm going to have to pull that rotor/drum, but I'm wondering if I'll even be able to that given how brutally stuck this thing is. Any advice?
  15. Tough to find in the junk yards too. I've been trying to convert my 92 with the rear speaker pods (ripped out long ago) to the 93-95 rear headliner speakers. I have the speaker bracket, but I need a donor headliner. If you see or know of one in a JY in Mass, shoot me a pm.
  16. WD21's are getting very scarce here in New England. I keep my eye out, and I can go weeks without seeing one. The ones I have seen look like they are falling apart. Mine could use a paint job, but otherwise it's still in pretty good shape.
  17. I have one if interested.....it's light brown/Khaki color.
  18. Yea, if mine is a little low it takes very little oil to get back to full.
  19. You can get the 75W85 tranny oil at the dealer....sometimes you can get it cheaper than the Redline MT-85.
  20. The twist method to set the tension is tried-and-true, something else is going on.
  21. I took a look at the FSM and it indicates that the vehicle speed sensor code (under diagnostic procedure 26) will set off that check engine lamp. I ordered a speedo cable, got a pretty good price too, $49 delivered. This should take care of the issue.
  22. Sorry, took a vacation day yesterday to take advantage of the snow. Yes, this is the yellow emissions light. I checked my mileage on the trip and I got just under 19mpg. I was afraid that I would get horrible mileage, but that's pretty good. Temps aren't too bad today, so I'll try to get out there and poke around a bit.
  23. Well, the list of issues is piling up. Got some work to do in the Spring. My emissions light is on. Ran codes and got back 14 in mode 3 - vehicle speed sensor....my speedo is out right now so no surprise there. Any tips on how to chase this down? I put a new o2 sensor in about 6 months ago.
  24. I use one of the acid based wheel cleaners, Eagle One I think. Does a good job, I'm not worried about the finish on the Legos anymore, so that's not a worry.
