  1. Ive done 4 timing belts, no cam or crank seals.... I did thoughly inspect every single one to verify they were not showing signs of leakage or failure.... The only reason I changed the rear main on my 91 was that it was showing signs that it had leaked, it was a small one, but it had been leaking.... Now it really leaks.....

    Spewing Oil

Our VG's had multiple uses... most common would have been a Pre 92 Maxima and some of the Zcars... On the Max the motor sits sideways and the dipstick is on the front of the motor, on ours the Passenger side... its a little 1/4 sized plug that was used to "Plug" the hole when the hole was not being used for the dipstick... If you have a swapped motor or were in the oil pan area it could have come loose.... I just went out and looked at the block I have in the garage... Its just in front of the oil filter at the base of the block where the pan meets it... Slim chance, but a possibility... I remember you doing some serious engine work... Dont remember if it was just top end stuff or if you did a swap... hence the brass plug.

    Spewing Oil

Oil on the starter and the filter would suggest the Oil Sending Unit..... when it blows its a big mess, fast... The only other things I can think of would be: The brass plug (dipstick location on passenger side)
  4. Fel-Pro and do not over torque the bolts when putting on the Thorleys.....
  5. With your BL you could mount it in a more suitable location.....
  6. Now thats a Dowser Post.... D, get a bottle of Red wine, big pasta dinner with lots of Olive Oil and do what comes naturally... that baby will pop right out.... Delivering your own Baby, Now thats gonna be a Great Write up.....
  7. Air Bags in the rear... new set of 1" or 2" lift springs, JGC springs.... The air bags will add support for when you pile the stuff in... To make it level... Set in the springs of your choosing then adjust the t-bars then have it aligned....
  8. Who the hell are you and what are you doing hacking KV's Account? Driving his Pathy? :tonguefinger: Long time no see.... Hang out, have a beverage or 3, lots a reading for you to catch up on....
  9. No Clicky=bad... With a 5spd there is a sensor on the clutch peddle(its taped down on my 92). beyond that, check all the connections... Worse case remove and replace starter....
  10. I Love the Brilliance of that.... Oil change kit to now include the bag everything came in....
  11. Installed my Thorleys with the engine on the Stand then installed the motor.... I used Sockets, box and open ended wrenchs... torqued with the Crow's foot and everything....
  12. From looking at my heads.... Yes... but that looks like they took off more than the .002... Wheres the dam book... Lots of notes, and warning in the chiltons... Bore alignment on the cam, milling valve seats.... maybe im having some bleed through on the DE stuff....
  13. The Springy feeling when cranking it by hand is the compression of the cylinders.... Pull the plugs if you dont want the resistance... If you have it running your close on the timing... My dizzy was off by about 3 teeth, then i was able to tune it in at 15'BTDC....
  14. Its a DE not DETT... I have been reading way to much on Turbos.... to many things can go BOOM!!! imo....
  15. *Points at Sig *Waits patiently for new engine gaskets.... Must do rear main in 91, then strip the ZX.... then put it back in the 95....
  16. you might have to play with it a little... I had to on mine
  17. My Thorleys matched right up, with new longer bolts... Thorley supplies a new cross over, hack it out unless you plan on converting it back to stock ever... as if... My exhaust guys took the stock flange and welded the new pipe to it after boring out the ID, ran 3" to the Muffler and 2.5" out the back in the stock location. Do not let them weld the new piping to the Thorleys.... Auto Tranny, you got 4 bolts that connect the flywheel to the Torque Converter... Extensions out the front over the Center Link access them through the hole removing the starter created....
  18. What about it???? I need a rear Main Seal, would like to have a wing window with the gold factory tint, and the Armrest is annoying as hell... R50's are perfectlly acceptable for going to the Grocery Store...
  19. Extensions with the Impact wrench from the bottom side will do the trick, make sure you have an extra socket, you might get one stuck on the inside nut... I had to remove the nuts. holding the manifold on, then it had some play to get full access to the last one... Use a Small Pipe Wrench on the EGR Tube... Before you reinstall: put the drives side header on loosely, then connect the EGR tube top and bottom, get 2 or 3 good turns on the threads... Then torque the header down.... May save you from having to cut the EGR Tube like I did... Slick got hers to fit with out cutting the EGR.... I was not as lucky...
