  1. Go to HomeDepot and get some of the EPDM pond liner. It's abut $10-15 per foot and foot = 1 foot x 18 feet so all you need is about $15 of it. That stuff is INDESTRUCTIBLE and perfect for the job.
  2. One of my friends has a 10 or 20 gallon air tank (it's a fair sized one), and he says that he can barely fill 4 of his 32" tires. It can only hold 125 psi, where as CO2 is stored at 1800 or so psi. In all honesty unless you set up one with a good (extremeair or viaair) 12V or a belt driven compressor I wouldn't bother. on http://offroadair.net they quote 20 minutes at 50% duty cycle with an average tool (if I am not mistaken)... i think it's good if you wanna take off a set of tires or do an occasional trailside repair. For garage work I'd stick to a proper compressor and tank.
  3. $20 CDN. I haven't really looked around to see if you can get it cheaper, but $20 isn't too bad i recon.
  4. Save up for an ARB locker or get a Safari snorkel..
  5. Holy crap I never noticed. You're right it does look crappy. JP's ride is forever ruined for me.
  6. I picked up a 4.78L container of oil... sly Not all come as 4L... here are the pics: You can notice two magnets I stuck on the outside of the oil filters to attract and catch metal particles if any. Here is the stock sized filter for comparison. One more thing I'll do is a little tray that I can put a rag on when taking the filters off so they don't make a mess. It will be super easy because it will just bolt on between the filter base and the bracket. The nice thing is that this allows for perfect placement of pressure sender for an oil pressure gauge. I already got a spare 1/2" plug (similar to the ones you can see on the end of the filter base) and gave it to a buddy to drill and NPT tap for the sender. He's got an access to a BIG drill press. LOL AT FILTHY ENGINE BAY! How about I say that it's dirty on purpose so the new filters stand out. That's my story and I am sticking to it. :contract:
  7. LOL i set TWO canadian tire compressors on fire in the span of one year. I think you need to go here: http://www.powertank.com/start.htm to see the video on their front page of how quickly those CO2 systems air up tires.
  8. Let's just start off by saying those PH8A filters are DAMN HUGE! I had helluva time trying to place everything in the engine bay but I figured it out. I fabricated a bracket that holds the filters up right over the wiring harness between the wiper motor and power steering fluid reservoir. I bolted the bracket using the factory holes and 6mm bolts that hold the wiring harness connectors. The hoses run up the firewall and enter the filter base from behind. Nice and neat, without making the engine bay any more cluttered. Also i still have full access to the relays that are on the fenderwall. It was a great feeling to be able to fill up the truck with 4.5L of oil instead of the usual 3.3L or so. I'll post pictures in about 1 hour or so, as I don't have the camera here at the shop. -bounce-
  9. Absolutely! And most 12V compressors will start smoking after you air up 4 large tires from 8 psi to 35 or so... They're just not used to working for such lengths of time... Also the CO2 system with a proper regulator can power air tools. sly
  10. Where did you order it from and which one? I went straight to the manufacturer: http://offroadair.net and got the HyperFLO 2. Don't worry.. yours will come eventually. sly
  11. So last night my adjustable CO2 pressure regulator came in... I ordered it from offroadair.net, and it arrived in 2 days. I grabbed my old beatup 20lb tank that i got free off one of the Zook boards, and I ran to my friendly neighbourhood welding supply place. They laughed at my tank admiring the fading PEPSI logo and said that it is no longer OK to use as the certification is only 5 years and it's passed that time already. But they said that for a small fee I can get it recertified! I was like "HELL YEA! HOW MUCH?"... so for measly $25 canadian not only did I got my tank recertified, but they took it back and brought me out a shiny new powdercoated in gray beauty! WHOA! They just swapped it on the spot. :cool2: So there I walked out as happy as I can be pimping my brand new most phallic of all off road accessories. Still frosted up from recent fillup with that magical CO2 gas. 2000 psi of pure joy! On the way home I also stopped by a farming supply store and got some 25' of flexible coiled nylon air hose and a tire chuck. So there... LukerAIR is now a reality, no more messing around with slow air compressors.
  12. I found that for me the key was unbolting the idler arm and swinging the centerlink out of the way. Easy as 1-2-3. sly
  13. Welcome to the club. From now you'll be known as "he who types with wierd characters" I am known as "he who didn't put the little shield back on"
  14. NEWSFLASH STOP THE PRESSES: THE MISSING HEADREST HAS BEEN LOCATED... I REPEAT THE MISSING HEADREST HAS BEEN LOCATED. Seriously you can bookmark your threads or subscribe to them here. Heck you can even download the threads in HTML, Word, or Printer friendly version for your future reference and viewing pleasure. sly
  15. I am in Canada, so costs add up VERY quickly when ordering parts from the states. I can get them for about $345CDN taxes in (15% tax) locally which is about $275 USD. Now that means I don't have to pay any shipping, duty and brokerage fees which can make life a headache.
  16. Also if it's an autotragic transmission, do you have an external tranny cooler installed? You may have issues with transmission cooling if the fan is not pulling air through those parts of the rad where the stock cooler is located.
  17. Check out: www.12voltguy.com and 4x4mods.com One note however with LED lighted switches. I've seen some that are so bright that they're almost blinding, they illuminate the interior too much at night and cause serious glare on the windows making it hard to see outside. Something you may want to consider. Now if you are serious and really wanna go all out, check out this place: Carling Switches Those are the very same switches that ARB includes with their compressors and lockers. sly
  18. I just priced out Pacesetter headers.... They're not too bad. Considering that my manifolds currently make my truck sound like a WWII tank, it's something I'll be looking into very shortly. Looking forward to hearing more experiences on them.
  19. I've had them about two years or so, but they were used previously by SirMrManGuy for a bit more than a year before he went SAS. I'd say they have some three years of good hard use on them.
  20. I don't understand. You're already registered here so why don't you PM people here instead of demanding that they register on your site to so you can contact THEM???... EDIT: Fixed crappy spelling.
  21. LOL just for fun I'd like a Patrol GQ w/RD28T manual.
  22. I have the AC UCAs, and I have ZERO problems with them... Where do these stories come from?
