  1. I am doing the install myself and the ARB unit is running me approx $1K CDN.
  2. The factory LSD in old Nissans is awsome. Took me to some crazy places, you have to know how to use it though. Many times newer Nissan owners thought I have a locker installed as I just crawled over stuff that made them weep... (you get used to that wheeling with the WD22 crowd). I got a call on friday that my ARB unit arrived, so i'll be installing it shortly. If you wheel your truck, there is really no two ways about it. Locker is the only way to go on technical trails. It saves your truck from a lot of damage.
  3. Xterras are alright, but there is a ton of stupid little things that Nissan did to save a buck or two. Don't try to wheel with them because you'll be poor quickly. Also XOC is run by a complete tool, avoid that place as much as possible. EDIT: Xterra not X-terra
  4. To properly install the temp gauge, you should tap into the AT oil pan. That will give you nice readings, and won't have any effect on the fluid flow. You can always tap into the hoses that run to the cooler, but make sure the fittings you use won't restrict the flow. The oil pressure is not too hard. You have to put in a t-splitter to feed of where the sender unit is, but remember to run a section of a flex hose off the block first, then put the t-with the stock sender unit and the sender to your gauge.
  5. Maybe check out the Toyotas. The TeeughhRrrDeee editions are fairly cool. I simply cannot recommend new Nissans anymore. Front R180 diffs? chu gotta be kiddin mang!
  6. Rubicons (both short and long wheelbase) will not be practical in any way. I'd recommend getting them only if you're planning to actually wheel often. They're rough, loud, and suck on gas. Also even with the extended wheelbase, they are stupidly small inside. Just how much off roading will you do? Because it's hard to say from your post. If it's just towing a small boat to a lake or going camping, maybe something like CR-V or Legacy Wagon will be enough?
  7. I have the Ford F100 coils, and i've never had any issue with them falling out or coming close to. Also the ride is super nice, in fact pretty much the same to stock with the sway bar removed in the rear. What's nice about the Ford coils, is that I can load the back of the truck with gear, tools, parts, gas, etc... and the rear end drops down only 1/2-1 inch. Doesn't ruin your clearance on trails.
  8. I used a 4x2.5" 3/16 plate that was bent for me at a local steel shop. Only the outside of the frame was in trouble at this time, so we just did the bottom and sides. Later on i'll raise the body of the frame a bit, drop the tank and fix up the surrounding areas as well. The spring packet is perfectly fine as is the other side of the frame, but still when I can park the truck for a week i'll attend to it (scrape the surface rust off and rockguard the bejesus out of it).
  9. Was recently posted on N4W.... complete with baby seats and all (cliky on thumbs for large)
  10. chiming in to represent the old school dash crew. factory voltmeters for life YO!
  11. You gotta be kiddin' right? Google: "cranking pathfinder torsion bars" and click on the first link provided. Also Calmini is so ridiculously overpriced it's not even funny, and most people that actually try to off road with their components are cursing them out. Whatever suspension lift you get, make sure you factor in a steering system upgrade into your budget (such as L&P centerlink) or you'll be blowing the stock one or two trail runs.
  12. LOL... the baby's hitting trails on Friday-Saturday.
  13. Goddamn Nissan and their crappy frames. 13 years of vehicle abuse took it's tool and my frame took a turn for the worse recently. With the help of master Raff we utilized our ninja like fabricating skills to fix the issue. Passenger side: Driver side: Master Raff knows how to make them "C"s purrrdy! LOL chuck of mud from inside the frame. Check out the different coloured layers that accumulated over various runs. Yay... the white Lowrider is ready to hit the trails again!
  14. Clutch: Gullah and 10,000 Witnesses.... actually the whole Robot Hive album.

  17. Ahhh.. i remember this one... 2WD, expensive but ohh so very cool. I am so torn on this one.
  18. The pics don't work for me. Can you upload them to http://imageshack.us or something?
  19. screw Calmini (and their fantastic customer service) and go straight for SAS...
  20. It's on the driver's side.
  21. Since most sand oriented vehicles are RWD, i suggest you hack off the front drivetrain and invest into a blown big block to make those tires spin like mad. Or just get a sand rail. -alcohol-
