and I guess as a side note...I had TO bearing that growled at me for about 6 months before I finally had to replace the clutch. Mine wasnt a constant whine but in the mornings it would go for probably 5-10 mins and sometimes while the clutch was engaged...if you're planning do do your swap in the near future depending on how bad the bearing is and how frequently you drive it...I would evaluate holding off on it until the swap was done but thats just me...

PB blast them a couple of hours B4 getting to them and do it several times then use an impact wrench to take them off...I would almost be willing to put $ on it they wont break theres one in the garage secition I think but i have gone from TBI to MPFI and if I could find a donor truck for an X or Fronty I would do that esp if it was with a SC A lot of people have put in the 3.3L but I think they kept their intakes the same you may want to search around a little bit.

I think I was doing like 300-350 miles or so before fill ups (left about 2 or so gallons in the tank) but I cant remember exactly...i havent driven my truck(s) in almost a year but when I was i was getting about 18mpg on the highway doing 75mph 140 miles a day 5 days a week (i think the tank is 22 gallons)

pktzygt do you have a 2wd? or did you separate the Tcase off of the tranny? I don't think you can get the 4wd tranny out without removing the Tbars and the Xmember for them...

yep you should have one...don't rely on it...mine worked every time except for once...and then i tested it after that and it came on when I got low but after that 1 time it never came on I never relied on it again (since my 95 has a floating needle) it woudl drop to E in like 50 miles and sometimes level back out to where the fuel was but most of the time stayed below 1/4 of a tank

I've used Hella's and cheap lights in the winter time and no issues...I think if you had hot lights and then dropped them in ice cold water they would bust...but I think they'll heat up slow enough and cool down slow enough to not bust the glass or anything but don't hold me to that...

well i wouldnt time stamp when you are going to buy stuff 1st off...check and make sure you're getting what you want before you get it. if you have the $ and can deal with the squeaky bushings (from what i've read on calmini) then go that route but if your on a budget tehn do the JGC and RC lift you could always get the trailmaster lift...

I was...now its time to consolidate them into one since they're both sitting instead of wheeling like they should.... out of all seriousness i have owned my 87 since i was 16 and drove it daily until i was 22ish (and it left me in the driveway knocking after something fell in the cylinder after a spark plug change) the only other time it left me stranded was when i didnt change the TB after doing the WP and it busted so it took 3 days to reubild the top end (about 200 or $300) and she ran great afterwards ok i lied there was another time she left me stuck for a few hours and it was when the + cable going to the starter chaffed through and arced and melted my battery but it didnt catch on fire and i got it all fixed up and finished the last leg of my 400 mile trip in the snow my 95 had more work to do to it but it was a little more neglected than my 87 was when i got it but it never left me stranded...well except for this one time the gas light didnt come on when I knew i was going to be close on making it and i ran out of gas for the 1st and only time in my life... if you keep everything lubed up and routine maintenance complete these trucks will run forever (i know a guy that has had 2 nissans with over 1million miles on them and they were rust buckets b/c they were beach trucks and theres an old 720 still down there...the guy had to replace the frame and the bed fell of and the cab is well...well ventilated but its still kicking

hmm @ 114.00 each, I would personally go for the headers... I do have a manifold I could sale/ship or whatever to you but you would probably have to get the mating surfaces machined (i believe its warped) be prepared to have a hellof a bill b/c the studs will break if they've never been replaced and that will rack up the hours for the mechanic...depending on where its cracked it may be possible to weld it up for a temp fix?

Once you upgrade/fix everything for a few months then you start it all over again...nah its not all that bad...

umm if you are doing just the throwout bearing then you may as well get the flywheel resurfaced or new, replace the clutch and do the rear main seal and possibly the rear cam seals and maybe the seal around the drive shaft...the work...is a lot of work but can be done in a day with a helping hand and the right tools... no clue what you're refering to as far as the 3l/5sp and 4l/6sp

whatever ones you pick make sure they're clipped to the pads and not glued shims...

mine werent all that cheap either...they were $35 OEM replacements...I didnt go ceramics but the highest they had for OEM replacement and they were junk...I wish I had pictures of them...I even JB welded the shims on after the 1st time and I think from the heat it cracked the JB and they still came loose... if its not those I hope you find what it is soon and its a cheap/easy fix

I didnt notice any difference when braking and I thought the sound went away over 15-20 mph but it was just my exhaust leak drowned out the clicking sound...I had 2 sets do it on the driver side and 1 on the passenger side...but yea it may not be obvious at 1st (mine wasnt) so when i popped the pin out and flipped the caliper up is when I noticed that over half of the shim had been "turned" away and it had "turned" a good bit of the spindle away

ohh dude thats crazy...Maggi used to get car sick but it really wasnt car sick. I noticed that she would start drooling like crazy amounts of drool in the car as soon as she got in there so I was talking with a lady that was at our dog training class and she was saying that as a puppy she may have had a bad car experience or related it to something bad and just got super anxious. we had to buy the guardian dog car harness b/c she would be in your lap and a $40lb dog in your lap isnt cool on the road. So what I did is started letting her ride on my lap as a passenger in the front seat then i would sit with her in the back seat and she got to the point that she didnt drool anymore and then just from over and over trips it got to the point where she could sit in the back seat and be fine...but she would always puke after about 30 mins and the trainer was saying that she would get so worked up and nervous that it was just the reaction. I know there were a couple of times she honestly got car sick b/c as a passenger my head was starting to spin b/c of the gf's driving and me trying to console the dog in the back seat but the last few times I took her anywhere she would willingly get in the car (ex gf was amazed after coming back from TDY) but the last I heard (about 2 weeks ago) shes not puking in the car anymore but I don't know if they've done any mountain trips lately Collies are really smart and I have a feeling this one is going to be too smart for her own good b/c i saw her scheming a way out of the keepers yard yesterday and I think B4 too long she will be able to get over a 6' fence (i know she can jump clear over 4' as it is right now) But yea I can't wait to get one of my own that nobody can take a way from me if things dont work out...I was kinda hoping she would have gotten her requested deployment for a year and then I would have found a way to get the dog and she would have never gotten her back which frustrates me b/c she has a chance of deploying not a big chance but the chance is there and right after we split she requested to be deployed but got denied (thanks to her mexico incident i believe) so its like ok if you get deployed what are you going to do with the dog and I don't approve of who she would leave her with and I dont think its right for the dog if she does get deployed b/c now with me out of the picture Maggi will have lost both of the people she has known since a puppy...I guess thats what happens with people who are selfish and want a companion but don't think of the consequences that lifes paths can bring...I mean yea i'd love to have a dog right now but if I end up moving across the country that would be extremely stressful on the dog especially if I do get to get one from a rescue (who won't let me get one anyways if theres a chance for me to move soon anyways) Alright wow I just rambled a lot... heh...yea i was thinking if you could bend up a bracket so that you could have a pressure swithc where the stick would press it when in R to pass (b/c they dont need to know how its working just that it works if its only for the test) worst comes to worst and the truck is pristine everywhere else for the inspection an extra $20 may work...or if they let you in the bay...you could put a pressure switch on the front and rear bumper and you could watch when they go to put it in reverse and hit the button... Yea today sucked b/c the ex is out of town and I went and took down all the light fixtures in a buddies house that they are moving from and the "dog watcher" of maggi was next door and i was so pissed off b/c the ex wouldnt let me watch her b/c the house she is at is a foster of like 4 brittney's so she "has friends to play with" for 2 hrs i sat and watched her jump on the doors and windows to go inside (shes not an outside dog) and the other dogs ignore her over and over...i wanted to walk over and tell her hey but I know the lady watching would have called the cops on me b/c shes a bitch...so i stood behind a brick wall watching her...she saw me (just from about my nose up) and ran over to the chainlength fence and wagged her tail and jumped up and down then started whining so then i felt bad...i miss that dog...i was half tempted to go steal her but i went over to the neighbors tonight and started working his black lab (neglected and in 4 hrs of training between 2 different days I have him doing a sit a lay down and a stay)...I'll get a dog of my own once i've got a steady place to live and she'll be spoiled and well trained

haha my bad...i didnt even look to see who started that other post...hmm how stiff is that switch? can you have it out of the tranny and engage it to see if the lights work? if not you could use a piece of wire and "short" the 2 wires to act like a switch and if that works then yea some how the switch is not engaging in the tranny. Yea I want to get a smooth coat border collie. yep thats how all the NAPA pads were but the cheap ass weavers that Advance Auto sold me were gluded on with no clips...that was the last thing I bought from advance and I went through 3 sets and finally got my $ back

is the clicking only when you are rolling? if so do you have cheap brake pads...if so jack up the front wheel and spin the tire...if you hear clicking pull the front tire and I will almost put money on it that the glued on shims have come off of the pads and are hitting the casting for the spindle...

same engine with the exception of the intake. I like changing them on the TBI tahn the MPFI but i just don't pull the intake to loosen the rocker arms on the driver side on the MPFI so yea pretty much same exact steps...
