  1. There is a switch on the dash that will let you start the truck without the clutch engaged.
  2. If somebody throws a large duffel bag full of money at me before then, sure I'll be down!
  3. Ah but they are still eligible for other benefits such as welfare.
  4. 10% are only those who qualify for unemployment benefits. If you include seasonal workers and discouraged workers (those who have given up seeking work), the unemployment rate is actually around 15%, and if you include underemployed workers (those seeking full time work but unable to obtain it) the rate hits 24%.
  5. Yeah he's still open rear. I'd trade him my LSD for his open if I could afford a lock right. (Assuming of course we have the same gear ratios) Depending on how my new job goes that might happen by early next year
  6. I am planning on doing it myself. I don't have the money right now though. When I do it will happen. So far though every time things brighten up for me financially they come crashing right back down. Until then I'm always down to ride shotgun with Enjoi. I'll badger him into going. He got the Calmini HD Steering installed and got the CV's fixed on his blue D21, so he has no excuses now.
  7. Video of Yozsi (before he did his SAS) pulling out a Yota from the mudpit in Hollister name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" wmode="transparent" style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="">
  8. Pezzy could I get a copy of the NPORA logo? I'm planning on making an etched aluminum poster for us at my new job. (Examples of what I'm talking about here: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Avitech-Graphics__W0QQ_armrsZ1 )
  9. Hey man welcome back! Sorry to hear about losing the job, and glad to hear about finding the other!
  10. I assume you've checked to make sure that the throttle cable isn't binding on something. Does it have an ECU? Could be a bad ECU perhaps if it wasn't changed with the new engine. Or a bad throttle body.
  11. Another complication that hasn't been brought up is decreased MPG with an SAS. Added weight, changed underbody aerodynamics, and of course increased tire size. I should mention I am planning to SAS my own rig eventually, so I'm not saying you shouldn't. Of course mine is no longer a daily driver.
  12. An SAS brings up questions of daily driving suitability. You're completely changing your entire front end, and there's no way to tell how it will withstand the rigors of daily driving, not to mention how it will react in emergency situations (abrupt lane changes, emergency stops, etc.) However for wheeling, there is no question that SAS is the way to go. The stock steering system is not up to the task of handling much beyond 31's. As for my truck, currently stock on 31's. I have had no issues with conquering almost all of Hollister Hills. I don't do the mudpit, and I'v never attempted the most extreme trails there. I have conquered most of the single diamond black trails with only minor difficulty. However I managed to bend my centerlink, bust one auto hub, and knocked my alignment out numerous times. That being said it's nothing that you wouldn't damage with any other truck.
  13. Lot of the trails around here can be found online. The vast majority are on State Parks, so you can get free or cheap guides from most major state park offices. Very few trails are on private property. But for $17 I'd say it was a good buy. Just noticed its 5 years out of date. A lot has happened in the past five years, including the closure of a major 4x4 park (Clear Creek). I'd take all trails in this book with a grain of salt.
  14. Camping is first come first served at Hollister, except for special event weekends. Labor Day weekend isn't a special event weekend though. If you wanted to go camping I'd get there early. If you're still interested let me know. My pathy isn't road worthy yet, but I can see if another local member would be interested in going who I could ride shotgun with. It would have to be on Sunday though, I work Saturday evenings.
  15. Last year we had a pretty big So Cal meet up, I was unable to attend though. No word on whether that's going to happen again this year though... I'm in the process of getting a transmission for my Pathy. Might be another two months until I can have enough to register and insure it though.
  16. My favorite Muppets song
  17. Pretty sure that was my first post And I swore! The only upgrade that I actually completed was the full size spare and the hub cap. I at least put in a Wix air filter.
  18. Anybody remember the time Dan and somebody else decided to steal my avatar and sig, but forgot to rehost them? They got stuck with these until they noticed what had happened http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f101/sc8...cksdickslol.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f101/sc8...sdickslolav.gif NSFW probably
  19. Yeah the R51 Pathfinders just can't keep up. I went wheeling once where we had an example of each stage of the Pathfinder (my 2 door 88, two four door WD21's, one R50 and one R51). Out of all of us the R51 had the most trouble of the day. Had a very hard time keeping up with us even on moderate trails. Got to the point where we had to park it and have the R51 driver ride shotgun in the R50. To be fair he had the worst tires out of all of us (BFG Rugged Trails), and DID manage to keep up on the moderate trails, as long as we guided him up the easiest lines. Overall though they are a bit too big, and too low to the ground.
  20. Honestly the "bouncy" gif avatars kind of annoy me, yours doesn't bother me at all. BUT I have no right to complain as I started the whole mess with my "underboob" and "nissan bounce" avatar a couple of years ago. You do have the option to hide avatars if they really bother you. You can do so in your Control Panel under Board Settings.
  21. I'd still be down to go on wheeling trips However I'd need to figure out a way to have my pathfinder towed to and from the park. It still has first (and third! But you don't really ever need third off road), reverse, 4hi and 4lo, it's just no longer registered or insured.
  22. Had to look it up... And I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere! (I'm technically in Felton CA)
  23. Read all of the thread titles above this thread. You'll find your answers in two of those threads!
  24. Well if they converted from oil to wood it could be that the chimney was removed or blocked on the oil furnace. Wood is better anyways, free if you have trees on your property and it's a renewable resource, unlike heating oil.
