  1. Search! This thread is pinned in the general forums, and is very easy to find if you bother to use your eyes: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=13814 Read, search, do your research. The kit that sunny linked to is known to have many issues. Search the forum to find out more. 31x10.5's will fit on a stock pathfinder. 32x11.5's will fit with a 3" lift and minor fender trimming.
  2. The wheels on your truck came from the factory with 31x10.5's. 30x9.5's will fit, but aren't the size that the wheels were designed for.
  3. I'll re-assert my recommendations 1. Samsung: Great quality, and I believe the best quality for your money. Might not be the cheapest, but they're not the most expensive either. My parents have one and haven't had any complaints with it (a 42" 1080p LCD model). I have a number of friends who also have Samsungs and they don't have any complaints either. 2. Sharp: AMAZING image quality if you get an Aquos model. So far they have the best image quality I have seen in person. But they are slightly more expensive than Samsungs. 3. Sony: Great image quality, great features, but carry an increased price tag because it says Sony on the front. Only purchase one made within the past couple of years. Older models are crappy because they were playing catch up with the rest of the industry. Two brands I don't recommend: Westinghouse: I bought one of these. For the first year it worked great. Then it ran into major problems. Now it won't even turn on half of the time, and when it does work it won't display blacks correctly. Vizio: Unless you're buying their top of the line model it's going to be crap. It will last until about a month after your warrantee expires and then it will crap out on you. This is a mass produced TV with poor quality control so more TV's can get shipped out and they can make money based upon bulk sales. Just about any non name brand TV that is priced significantly lower than their competitors. Remember you get what you pay for!
  4. Well you can also look at it from the perspective that you'll spend a lot less in gas driving the Camry. Plus less of a chance of a legal hassle if you do get pulled over. Then again I wouldn't want to leave my pathfinder on the other side of the country.
  5. If you're looking for a cheap set of tires retreads are great. http://www.treadwright.com/shopnow/entity/...15/default.aspx My friend had a set of 33x12.5 MT's from this company on his Jeep and he loved them. I'm planning on getting a set of MTs from them once I get my transmission fixed.
  6. My parents have a Samsung and it is really nice. Sharp's Aquos line is also very good. Sony LCDs are great, but only if they were manufactured within the past couple of years. They were resistant to LCD technology and had to play catch up. Other name brands are so-so. If you find a deal on one make sure to do some research on the TV model. There are some non-name brand LCD tv's that make good TV's. Viewsonic is one of those (they are well known for making computer monitors). I would NOT recommend a Westinghouse TV. I bought one and it worked great for almost a year. But then it developed some major problems (displaying certain shades of black as red, won't turn on half of the time, etc).
  7. I'm sorry guys but 1080p is not meaningless. You can currently get 1080p TV service from some cable companies, AT&T fiberoptic (if it's available in your area), and from DirecTV (currently only for some Pay Per View movies but they're expanding 1080p programming). Decent 1080p upscaling DVD players are fairly inexpensive. PS3's just hit the $300 mark. And despite what you will be told, a $5 HDMI cable is going to work just as well as a $50 Monster cable. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812123144 <- That will handle all of your HDMI needs. You don't need gold plated ends, "extra shielding", "anti power goblin hyperforce coating" or any of the other BS high end cable company's will try to scam you with. The fact is their cables are EXACTLY the same as that $5 cable. Probably made in the exact same factory! Now to answer your refurbished question: what kind of TV is it? If it's a DLP or Plasma I'd say skip it. DLP's get sent back all of the time, having to replace blown bulbs under warrantee is a big problem for DLP TV's, you're going to have to replace the bulbs too (plus they only look good when it's dark). Plasma's generally use too much electricity (big factor for a college student, you don't want to be faced with a huge electricity bill). I'd suggest an LCD TV. Only buy name brand (no Vizio does NOT count as a name brand). Sony, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Sharp, are all pretty good buys. Next make sure that you're dealing with a factory authorized reseller. Otherwise you're just buying a used TV. Finally do your research, google the TV model. Look up reviews on Amazon. If it's no good new, than it's not going to be any better refurbished.
  8. Welcome! After you upgrade the springs upgrade your tires again to the optional stock size 31x10.5R15 Hope you find all the information you need here!
  9. I was about to say I have an older kenwood, and I'v found that my faceplate sometimes unseats itself. Also my truck is far from being waterproof, and after it rains and then gets sunny, water vapor will find it's way into my deck. I'v pretty much given up on it, as it no longer even provides power to the drivers side speakers. If it doesn't want to work, well I just view it as a chance to make sure my pathy isn't making any funny noises
  10. OK what do you mean exactly when you say it won't turn over? A: Does the starter spin the motor and it just never fires? Or B: do you turn the key and nothing happens? In the case of A turn your key to the start position but don't crank for a little while, this will allow the system to re-pressurize. You might need to pump the gas peddle a bit while cranking as well. Check to make sure that you installed the fuel filter properly. Check to make sure that the filter didn't clog right away. In the case of B: check to make sure all your electrical connections are secure. Does the starter click when you turn the key? If so it's possible your starter is dead, try whacking it with a hammer. I'm not familiar with spray in air intake cleaner. Maybe someone else who's used something similar before can chime in?
  11. You probably grabbed the wrong diameter springs. The majority of JGC's have "thin" diameter springs. You have to find the thick ones. You'll want at least 0.54" diameter springs, bigger the diameter the more lift you're going to get. You can figure out what thickness the spring is by either bringing a caliper with you or by checking the paper tag on the spring, read through this thread to decode the tags: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18 Start looking under V8 JGC's first, but don't rule out I6 Cherokees.
  12. Ban TNZ for being a day ahead of us.
  13. Welcome to the forums! I love Hawaii I really wished I had a 4x4 when I visited.
  14. Oh god damnit Now I'm the dumb one
  15. Certainly he couldn't be as dumb as me, right?
  16. BL is a great way to get the lifted "look" without the increased suspension part wear associated with a SL. Good way to fit larger tires easily as well (possible to run 32" tires with a 3" BL, but you still have to upgrade the steering system). Another bonus is a BL makes the oil filter easier to access, makes oil changes much easier. The main benefit to a SL is increasing your ground-frame clearance, making you less likely to get high centered. Welcome to the forums from a fellow Andrew!
  17. The difference between the Grand Wagoneer and the Wagoneer (or ZJ) is the Wagoneer was a "small" hardtop SUV and the Grand Wagoneer is their Full Size SUV. They used the same name as the Grand Wagoneer to confuse everyone. Here's some brief info about Grand Wagoneer Dana 44's (it's about swapping them into a Jeep but the basic info applies). http://www.jeepaholics.com/tech/d44foryj/d44foryj.htm (Go to the "route I took" section) Nissan Nut's D21 SUA axle swap page. http://nissannut.com/projects/sas/
  18. I like my GPS for city driving (I'm horrible at street names, and city navigation in general), but I know better than to trust it 100%. And remember no matter where you go, there you are!
  19. Just talked to him and he's got a helper spring lift in the rear, so that's what's really stiffening up his suspension.
  20. Hmm sounds like he doesn't have enough flex I wonder if he has removed his rear sway bar
  21. Well I was going to say the VG30 engine from a Nissan Maxima can work, you just have to replace some parts to use the truck transmission, but it looks like you've already found your replacement engine. Good luck on the install! And I always change my own oil. I don't trust the screwball kids shops hire to change oil, looks like this is a worldwide phenomena!
  22. The Hardbody 4x4 truck comes from the factory with a 2" body lift (accounting for a majority of the height difference between a 2wd and 4wd D21 truck). Which is why some people grab a D21 transfer case shifter when they do a body lift on WD21 Pathfinders.
