Yup it's called binding, try not to make sharp turns when in 4x4.

If you are looking for the "best bang for your buck" suspension lift it would be as follows: Rough Country Upper Control Arms (contact rough country directly and order the UCA's from the Hardbody truck lift kit), modified JGC springs for the rear, and new shocks all around (I'd suggest ranchos). I already mentioned this (minus the brands) in your intro thread. Prerunner style bumpers are available from www.4x4parts.com I don't think it would look very good but to each their own right? Oh and with the 3 inch lift you could run 32 inch tires.

Oh I meant the 3 inch suspension plus the 3 inch body PLUS the 4 inch trailmaster. 33's are plenty big

35's won't fit with just 3 inches of suspension and 3 inches of body lift. They might fit if you also add the 4 inch trailmaster kit, maybe. They'll definatly fit if you do a solid axle swap! Also the chevy wheel might not fit because chevy hubs are much smaller than nissan hubs. You'll be best off finding 33's. (Desert rat www.desertrat.com is offering a package deal 4 interco LTB 33x13.5 r 15's mounted on black steel wheels for $715)

Easier test, open hood on 90, open hood on 93. If everything looks the same both have VG30E engines. If the 90 engine looks different (IE it has a circular air cleaner directly on top of the engine) than it has a VG30I.

My dad had a 1996 (I think can't remember exact year...) 5 speed 4 cylinder 4x2 Ranger. The only problem he ever had with it was the door open sensor wouldn't recognize the door being shut which would cause the dome light to stay on. It also had 8 sparkplugs (and two distributers!), it weirded me out the first time I saw it. Started counting spark plugs and went WTF?! :confused:

Hmm yah this is quite a dilemma. Between the two it seems like there is enough to make at least one road worthy vehicle, and maybe have enough left over for a dedicated trail rig... Either way you go you'v got a lot of work ahead of you. To answer your question yes there is a plethora of dash paints made for painting plastics. Should be available at most auto parts stores. I'm pretty sure DuPont makes it as well as some other well known companies.

Just tell them the truth, you were on a long trip and the trans broke during said trip and said trip also just put you over the mileage. Assuming you haven't put many miles on since then they could go out and verify this and should help you out. Of course they might just be asses and will tell you tough s@#$. Couldn't hurt to enquire though...

Do you mean it's become kinda of a shiney bluish rainbow quality? That would be due to heat it changes the color... Although I reserve the right to change my opinion once I see the pictures.

K&N filter, $34 + shipping from summit racing. Thorley headers $350 + shipping from rocky road. Muffler depends on brand/style/sound you want. Flowmaster 40 series muffler will run you $70 + shipping from summit. Whereas a simple dynomax glasspack muffler will run you $22 + shipping also from summit. A high flow cat will be around $60 from summit. Unless you have some serious equipment laying around your garage you'll probably need a shop to install the exhaust system. Prices and labor will vary so shop around and don't just go with whoever's cheapest. Go with a shop that will do good work and will be willing to take their time to make the system work with your pathy.

Well I researched this earlier and the word from 88 is that it would be darn near impossible to completely seal the engine. I'm sure he'll wander in here eventually and remind me what would need to be done (I think it required welding something shut, can't remember what though...)

Sorry luker, but 87-89 engines don't benefit from a snorkel (other than the cold air properties). Your best bet is a K&N filter, Thorley headers, a muffler, high flow cat, custom 2.5" exhaust piping, and the L&P Performance intake mods: http://www.lpperformance.com/Performance%20Services.htm
