Glad to hear you got the other pathy! 1. Front seats are REAL easy. Four bolts attach them to the floor (rear bolts are covered by some plastic snap on/off covers), simply remove bolts and remove seat. Instalation is opposite of removal. Not so sure about rear I'v never removed mine. 2. I have no clue, I'v never worked on a manual trans. 3. I think you might have to drill holes in the roof to install it. Wish I had a second pathy for parts... :sniff:

I'm a different 88 but I have an auto and I also experiance the same exhaust popping noise when I rev the engine a little and let it go back to idle. Not quite a backfire just kind of a light popping noise. I have had problems with my EGR valves clogging, but whether that is the cause of the noise

Hope you heal up quick! Personally I'm against sueing, however in this case I'd at least threaten some sort of legal action. But I'd try to settle it out of court no need to jam up the legal system with another lawsuit.

Nah they work fine in reverse.

1) No that isn't true. Body lifts work with both autos and manuals. 2) I don't have any personal experiance with them, but a lot of people on this as well as other boards have only bad things to say about the quality of their parts and customer service. I'd also suggest buying Rough Country UCA's and doing the JGC spring rear lift as it will save you A LOT of money. 3) Yes 33's will fit with 3"+3" of lift. Some trimming to the fenders will be probably be neccesary however. Also I don't think they will work with the stock pathy rims, I don't think they have enough backspacing and might not be wide enough to fit a 12.5" tire.

From your description it seems as though you had the rear limited slip diff. in the 88 and now have an open diff in the 92. If you still have the 88 I'd suggest removing the entire rear axle and swapping it onto the 92. If you don't have the 88 anymore (very likely) you could go to a local junkyard and look around for a LSD rear axle. I think you'd have to grab the whole axle as the carriers differ between open and LSD axles, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Also I find that even on my 88 with LSD rear, gaining traction in reverse is a lot more difficult than in forward gears.

Huge difference on my pathy between sport and touring. Body roll goes to almost 0 and the ride is A LOT stiffer. I actually run around with mine in sport all the time now, as I prefer the stiffer ride.

Interesting... Try checking the ECU codes. Fuel filter maybe? Could be clogged and as fuel flow increase with driving engine dies to lack of fuel.

As mentioned cranking torsion bars doesn't require new t-bars. Read in the garage for the how to on adjusting the t-bars. I also say you are going to have a heck of a time getting them to fit. You might be able to get them to fit just barely, but you will have severly limited flex off-road.

As is Royal Purple (NAW REALLY?! ) Royal Purple is supposed to be good stuff, on Horsepower TV they replaced all lubricants with royal purple on a stock camero and they saw something like a 10hp increase.

What they said, a body lift has NOTHING to do with alignment. It might be expensive but go to the Nissan dealer and have them align it for you, they'll understand the difficulties associated with aligning the pathfinder. And they'll tell you for sure if you'v got a bent frame. I seriously doubt you have a bent frame unless you know for a fact that the pathy has been a major collision of some sort.

Sounds like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning... Seeing a picture can help you imagine your pathy and since we'v got so many members with a variety of set-ups finding and or asking for pictures is a simple task. But 88 does have a point, taking them off is going to be the best way to find if you really like it. Remember things ALWAYS look different in person. Oh and 88 is cool. :cool2:

Just checked ebay, a USED clutch type LSD is selling for $550. For once Calmini isn't overpriced... :o

Think it's heavy with the wimpy stock spare, try putting a lego with 31x10.5 on there. Gaurateed workout whenever you want to open the back! I think the 88 external carriers might have different latch mechanisms because I have no idea what your talking about... :confused:

All the info you ever wanted on LSD options for the front diff: http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...t=0entry89228 Apparently the only type that will work are LSD's from 4/87-89 300ZX's. They are also hard to find as they are VERY popular with the tuner crowd.

Do you have the LSD rear diff? If so, they can be rebuilt to preform almost as well as a locker. See the How To section in the garage for more info on that. And if you're not sure whether or not you have an lsd, look on the rear diff for an orange sticker that says LSD, it might be covered up with dirt and grime. You could also jack up the rear so that the rear tires are in the air (make sure that you chock the front wheels put the trans in nuetral and have the e brake off). Then spin one tire if the other tire spins in the same direction, congrats you have an LSD (wait um I think that's right...).

Welcome! 2 door or 4 door? VG30E or I engine (the I will have a circular air cleaner perched directly on top of the engine whereas the E has an air box). 90 pathys are an interesting breed as they represent both the switch from the 2 door body style to the 4 door and the switch from the VG30I V6 to the VG30E V6. Well it will be hard to check for exhaust leak without a running engine, but unless you know for a fact that the previous owner replaced the exhaust studs then you probably have an exhaust leak at the headers. The stock manifold studs were VERY weak and broke easily. This causes an exhaust leak marked by a distinct ticking noise at start up that dissapears once the engine warms up. They need to be replaced with the revised 300zx exhaust studs, and removing broken ones is a pain in the neck. Might as well replaced the manifolds with headers while you're at it if you have the money. Get Thorley headers, they're the best. Hope we can answer any and all questions you have!

Don't forget to check craigs list (www.craigslist.com). Pathy's with dead trannys or trashed bodies show up on there from time to time, as well as engines too.

Kind of a silly question but a switch to an E engine would involve a new ecu, but would it also involve replacing all of the associated wiring from the ecu to the engine as well? Or could most of the wiring be reused?

Yup stock exhaust/engine noise is loud on my 88. Especially at right around 2500 RPMS. Whenever someone is going really slow and they have their windows rolled down I rev it right into that sweet spot. Usually gets them to notice that I want to go faster.

So did you change the rear suspension and/or axle or is it still stock nissan? What about the transfer case is that stock (yours is so clean compared to mine I can't tell). You should enter Four Wheelers Top Truck Challenge! :cool2:
