Just follow the wire with your hand and you'll find it. It is a PITA, but not all that hard. Nissan actually gave us a spark plug tool made specifically to get to that plug. Should be in the kit with the stock lug wrench. Otherwise you need a 6" extention, a swivel, a ratchet and a plug socket (a second extention would also help).

I have never seen a high flow that is a "bolt in", most just have stub pipes at either end so they can be used on anything. As for the tranny, I would hope the shop would at least use the proper type of ATF, the Nissan type isn't the only one that will work properly, though most brands aren't fully compatable.

Yeah, but the one you pictured looks similar to Surco Baskets which run around $250 and up without mounting hardware. The Coleman/Sportrack one is similar in style to the Yalima Load Warrior. There are tons of options out there, it is just weeding through which ones are worth what they are charging for them, and how much you are really gonna use it.

Yep, there is a piece that is held on the axel stub by a snap ring. That is the part that actually locks in when you lock them.

I carried 20, 16' 2x6s on my Thule once, the bars bowed a little but handled the weight just fine. I think they are rated at 250lbs/bar IIRC, but that is the "recommended" limit, you know they never put the true max rating on things. There are no rails, they clamp to the rain gutters under your doors, and have feet that rest on the edge of the roof to distribute the weight.

88+ have a 4speed non OD final gear, 90+ have a 4speed with OD final gear. Same exact tranny, just different electronics and gears in it. All the 88+ VG V6s had the RE4R01A automatic tranny, and they can be cross swapped, but they aren't all the same. They will fit the 87s also, but require the tranny ECU to be swapped(which is not in the tranny BTW) because they used a L3N71B. 2wd models used a 4 speed variant of that, the E4N71B until 89, in 90 they started using the RE4R01A also. If your 89 had lockup and OD then it was a late 89 build and one of those weird inbetween models like we were talking about earlier this week in POHO. Or it could be that a PO replaced your TC or tranny at some point before.

Well, the VG30I has a Throttle Body Injection system, basically it is just a pair of injectors firing into the intake. The throttle body unit does resemble a carb in looks, but that is about it.
