  1. I've been meaning to join for a while just haven't got to it until now. I drive a 1991 xe with 220000 HARD miles. You guys might hate me for this but I beat that little truck in the desert and it's taken every bit. The only problems it has given me so far where really simple and common (such as exhaust studs). Overall I love that truck and I'm considering being nicer to it. I hope to learn more about my rig and get to help others if I can. Thanks

  2. Had a look at mine today. There are three holes in each side of the tow bar. Two per side to the frame, one to each bumper bracket. If you look at your bumper brackets, you should have a little bracket bracing between the bumper bracket and the frame. Remove those little brackets. The captive-ish stud coming down from the frame (retained by a big flat head welded on so it won't spin) goes through the rearmost frame mounting hole on the tow bar*, and the hole in the bumper bracket should line up to the hole on the side of the tow bar (hopefully you saved those fasteners off the donor). BF-8 of the '95 FSM shows how it goes together without the hitch if you want a better idea of what it is you're removing. If you lift the hitch up and get the rear holes lined up, you should be able to see if the front holes are present and correct. I'm not sure if there's supposed to be a nut welded inside the frame or a plate or what. Hopefully they're where they're supposed to be and the threads are clean enough to use. *I don't know if the tow bar kit came with alternative hardware for this stud, or if you were supposed to reuse the stud that held that little bracket on. If you got the hardware off the donor, I'd compare and use whatever looks stronger.

  4. Replaced fuel sender/pickup unit, blew all the varnish out of the fuel lines. Fitted a new carb, new fuel hoses front-to-back. Fired straight up and with the timing adjusted idles like a swiss watch. Pulled the driver's front guard ready for rust repair. Will drop pics in later Stay safe all. -FGF

  5. My old 3.2 diesel r50 flexing it out on the way to Montgomery hut on the west coast. Procomp es326500 rear shocks, would definitely recommend. These require the rear spring to have a free height of at least 400 mm.

The new member map can be found in it's very own tab located directly below the NPORA logo at the top of every forum page. Or by using the link below. Check it out and don't forget add your location. And later, if you move to another town or half way around the world, you can update it then. Or if you prefer, you can remove it completely. Once you place a pin showing were you are, it will appear Green with a house in it. The Blue Pins are other NPORA members. Soon you will start seeing pins of another color, these will be markers for Off Road Vehicle Park locations. If you can help populate ORV locations, I am sure the whole community would be appreciative.
