  1. I’m looking to replace the front and rear coil springs. I’m still running the original ones front and back. It’s one of the suspension components I should’ve changed when I put in a new suspension but didn’t. Vehicle sits at normal ride height but when loaded starts sagging. Looking for some quality springs. And for some reason in my neighborhood they decided to put up a speed bump with no signs going downhill and my rear bottomed out. It was nighttime by the way, didn’t expect it. I wasn’t even going fast maybe around 20mph. Definitely need new springs. Any recommendations on which type and brand? Tires are stock size and suspension parts are all OEM replacement. I don’t off-road, although I’d love to one day. Sorry, my Pathfinder might sound boring to many of you lol. 2. So we are finally all moved in and although flat out working on our house, I have got the ball rolling again in this turd! Pulled it out and gave it a wash, installed a new stereo and have ordered a set of headers and a 32/36 weber kit. I've also found a machine shop to build the engine, so I will be getting the core form my parents house in a few weeks when I next make the trip in to Melbourne. I found a bit more rust at the top of the windscreen, it looks to be surface rust only but I'll be pulling the screen to have a better look in coming days, but not today or tomorrow as it's 41 degrees Celsius here today (106 F). Onward!

  3. I installed one in my 2002 Xterra and it has been great. Charges well at idle and has handled winching with no issues. My buddy also installed one in his 2015 X.

  4. The later Quest alternators are good for 145A, and Nissan Nut did a writeup on how to swap them into a WD21. Looks like they take a little screwing around to get mounted up, but Rockauto's got them for less than half the cost of the billet one. I've heard of people having belt issues with the Quest alt, but I'm not sure if that's because they didn't get the pulley alignment right or if that's just what happens when you ask too much of a V belt. I don't think I've seen a review of the RR alt. I remember someone complaining that the Mean Green had a stock regulator in it (presumably undersized for the rated output), but that was a while ago. I may upgrade mine to the 90A Maxima alt if/when it craps out. For now it seems to be keeping up just fine. If anything on mine is going to eat a stimulus check, it's probably the steering box.

  5. Done it, didn't enjoy it. I destroyed them out with a combination of drill bits through the rubber to get the metal bushing out, then a sawzall to surgically cut the outer shell just enough to punch/chisel the shell out. It's a lot of work, and I only did it for poly bushing. Using a floor press isn't an option unless you've got some pretty specific tools/holders because the flange of the bushing obstructs the tube, and the shape causes other problems; you can't press out from the backside either because the rest of the arm obstructs the press ram. If you're just planning to put rubber bushings in, definitely just buy the complete arm. If you want poly, prepare to work for it.

  6. @AR97Pathfinder Yep, 2923 are the MD fronts (2928 are HD), with 2922 MD rears. If the KYBs are new and otherwise doing fine, I'd probably stick with them.

  7. I'll second the OME MD springs. Great ride quality, and good for a small lift amount, too. Good time to look into shock and strut replacement, too.
