  3. Nope, AC is its own brand. You can only get them from 4x4parts.com, aka Automotive Customizers (AC). AC sells OMEs, but they mask brand names on practically everything. The springs they sell for around $167 are OMEs; the $180 ones are their house brand.

  4. @RainGoat I just realized that a while back you directed me towards Desert Rat located in... Arizona I think? Well I was searching the website for AC springs for the front. I know that OME and AC are ARB, but again im confused. I was looking for the part number on 4x4parts.com which didnt help because all they have is the stock keeping unit. My question is, does Desert Rat sell the 2 in AC springs? they have a list of part numbers and the discriptions are very vague, not telling the amount of lift, or if its for the front or rear; only specifiying whether its for the R50 model and whether it is Heavy Duty or Medium duty.

  7. Hey everyone! Just picked up a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder SE this weekend with 168,000KMs. Single owner, just serviced at the dealer with front brakes, timing belt, and water pump. Small bit of surface rust on the right rear that I’ll be cleaning up. Going to need a nickname for her. Can’t wait to dive into the forums! Edit: I see there’s a spot for introducing yourself. Sorry for missing it this time.

  8. mine personally didn’t quit but got pretty dang close with leaking tranny fluid being what sent me into selling it. it would get stuck in neutral when i was in drive then catch at like 2-3 grand and make the whole car shudder and wouldn’t change gears above 1st without a huge thump. after turning it off at night then starting again in the morning the car would be fine with only hard shifting. i had a thread somewhere about it but i also had the RE4R01A. Only lasted 130k miles then would go on and off with that problem until i sold it at 139k. Weirdly enough@buttercup is at 199k and the tranny runs so much better.

  13. I have - years ago tried it from a stop to see what would happen. Clicking sound from both front hubs. No damage as far as I can tell but definitely didn’t sound like it would be good if it happened at anything more than a crawl. Warn hubs fwiw. No error light either.

  14. Just swapped out the lower rear control arms, panhard rod (which was noticably bent in the middle), and shocks. I figure its best to do the maintenance bits before I dive into the lift. The new lower arms eliminated the death wobble I was getting on the freeway, so I figure the upper arms can wait to be changed until the horrible experience of removing the old lowers has faded from memory a bit...... shudder.... Land rover nrc9447 coils should be here this week, but they'll have to wait to go on until I can pick up some KYB struts and OME HD coils and do the whole job in one sitting. The most immediate upcoming project will be fabricating a "missing link" from some pipe in the next few days, as well as sealing a leaking hose. So many plans but so little time between work and the upcoming holidays and all. Not to mention we're in the middle of a four day snowstorm right now, so its a little difficult to find motivation for crawling under the truck in the cold detached garage.

  18. Sourcing gear in MO will be tough. ARB OME price is pretty fixed no matter where you get it. 4WheelParts is one source out West. I think a good option for you is Desert Rat out of Phoenix, AZ. They have been around a long time and are reputable. Desert Rat will ship them to you free with no tax. I’m about to do OME up front & LR in the rear.
