  3. just by looking back how much wheeling ive been spending with this truck.almost every month i am out playing with my rig. definitely had so much fun driving this tank. i felt the subframe blocks start to flex and making some noise everytime i brake. i re tightened all my blocks and such but i still had those clunking and thud noise. cant figure it out so i decided to just get the sfd blocks welded to the frame. BIG thanks and shoutout to my friend @TowndawgR50. i dont remember when we did the welding but i am lucky to have TownDawgR50 to be local to me. he came out of his way and time to help me out with getting my subframe done. wish i had more time to get back at him for helping me out. but he moved out of state. im sure every R50 guys knows him. lol heres only a pic i snap of him doing his magic. thanks again bro! i really do appreciate the work!

  5. I would definitely recommend JY OEM. The OEM is particularly robust with the part pictured below & two lateral arms reaching quite a bit forward on the frame/unibody. Holes should be prethreaded & I was able to put mine off & on without moving anything else. I recently took mine off after 15 years, with countless bangs & it came off & went back on with ease (I did use anti-Seize this time but didn’t when I initially put it on)

  8. I don’t have any experience with the JY/oem route, but if you’re looking to buy new I recommend ordering from etrailer.com. That’s where I got my hitch receiver and wire harness. About $180 will get both the hitch and a plug and play harness. The only other thing you might consider is an aftermarket transmission cooler, but I wouldn’t say that’s mandatory. A good plate and fin cooler can be had for around $50.

  9. It wasn’t from sfcreation, but yes that’s how much lift I had when I put them on. I did have to trim the fender and bumper to get them to fit up front with that little lift.

  10. It's rated pressure is 60psi, and it has 50psi in it right now, almost 6 months after I took it out. Oh, and the size is 135/70/16. A folded spare... that sounds very... German. Does it have a limited rating, or is it just as good as a non-folding tire? (doubtful) Nice that the space for it is the same, but that just means they cheaped out... I recommend doing what I did... just buy a new steelie and go to your local tire shop and see what's in the used tire pile. The spare for my wife is a better tire with more tread than the current Kumhos.

  16. If you're willing to spend more time poking around, I bet you could narrow it down to the specific switch that's causing the problem. Then you could disconnect/replace/try xplors fix and not deal with the "hack" and have the security system working. It's nice being able to use the key fob as it was intended

  17. I’ve had stock (255/65/16), 245/75/16, and 285/75/16. The current 285/75/16 (approx 33x11.5) is a good size in my opinion. Everything fits well, and with the lift in the rear there’s enough room for it to flex without getting caught up on the flair at all. Also the engine has enough power to push the 33’s without feeling under powered. If I change anything I might get 305/70/16 next time which would be just a little wider but same height.

  19. Scott, I have this deck in my VW (it was actually in my pathfinder before I went all hipster and put the OE deck back in): https://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/in-car-receivers-players/xav-ax100 Works well, and has Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. Waze even works on it now.

  20. Also a side note regarding the new front spring set up. With this configuration, any concerns about wheel backspacing and strut spacing are pretty much a non issue. I could hack off the offending first few inches of the strut perch if I wanted because it’s just kind of hanging out there as waisted space now. I don’t have any plans of changing my wheel and tire combo any time soon, but figured it was with mentioning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Thanks! I’m planning a trip to the pine barrens in NJ next month with some friends. Should be fun! That’s why I was in such a hurry to get it done....I didn’t want to be like “sorry guys, I know the truck looks tough but I can’t engage 4wd because I’m afraid of blowing a CV, lol! With the front jacked up and axles at full droop, I locked the hubs and spun the wheels and everything is nice and smooth without even a hint of binding, it’s a beautiful thing!

  22. My intake temp sensor shows all sorts of false readings. I get 300degF spikes often with no real noticeable effect. I’ve replaced my IAT sensor already though and checked the wiring extensively and the problem persists. I think I submerged my ECU in muddy water and that’s what my issue is.. Anyway, I just wonder how much effect the IAT actually has on the ECUs tuning. Can you just unplug it and see how it runs?

  27. This should give an idea of the trimming I did to clear the tires up front. I cut out the lower portion of the wheel well liner, the inner edge of the flare, and a couple inches of metal off the inner bottom edge of the fender. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  28. I remember coming across this! It’s certainly a very cool idea. If I don’t like over the rails I’m sure this is a lot what mine will look like
