  1. If you've ever wondered what the largest spare tire is that will fit in the underbody spare tire carrier, I just found out. I run 265/70 R16 and it barely fit. I had to jam the rear of it up against the back of the factory trailer hitch mount ( getting the wire loom that runs across the mount out of the way) and the tire is within 1/2 inch of the panhard rod on the front side.

  2. This was way to cool to NOT share. Definitely my favorite Nissan, and the best looking of the few that frequent my area. Wasn't expecting to find it parked at Home Depot though

  3. I've had no further trouble with wet floorboards, so it looks like blowing the sunroof drains out with compressed air does work. If you do this I'd set your pressure regulator to 40 psi or less and start slow, so if there is a blockage it is less likely to blow the drain hose apart before it clears. It sure doesn't look like those drains are replaceable without removing the entire sunroof assembly, which looks like it would have to come out from the inside.

  4. Installed new hatch struts, such a nice upgrade and now I get around +1.5" of height to help reduce forehead damage! Decided to do the mud flap trim and removed the side steps. If I regret it I'll get some Rally Armor blanks and throw 'em on, but for now I kinda like the look. Truck is a trail rig so a little dirt damage'll be okay. Side steps might end up going back on since they're handy, I just wanted to see what they'd look like. Looks like it'd be easy to fab up some DIY sliders one day. Got handy with some wire brushes and a pressure washer, then hit a bunch of the rear with some Rustoleum style paint. Didn't really have any rust tbh, but with the new LR Defender springs in the rear I was tired of looking at a dirty axle! I've got my mind on tires now as the ones on it are kinda old. Based on my research and OEM rim style I'm thinking of going with 260/70R16 (30.3x10.2R16) as that seems to have worked for user erathge. Sound good?

  5. I have seen an i8 hybrid "supercar" downtown. But I'd take the GT-R over just about anything in or above its price range

  7. tymbits: the catch can helps to remove oil vapor from the pcv blow-by gasses before they get sucked back into the intake and burned. I am not sure how much oil I am burning, I don't think much at all. If you have excessive blow by this will help to keep the intake clean and help with burning that oil. This will not help with oil consumption caused by bad rings. Just to make sure there is no confusion about what I did, my front diff drop is only 3/4" . I just needed a little bit to ease the CV angles but not so much as to reduce ground clearance. Finally I finished my sliders. I purchased a new welder over the weekend and a tubing bender and decided to give tube bending a try. I thought about purchasing the sliders made for our vehicles, but I didn't want to attach to the pinch seam...yes I know it works, it is how my friends WJ sliders attach, but my experience with sliders has proven that weld-on is very skookum. The sliders are welded to the "frame" section of the unibody with 3/16" 3" by 4" angle iron. And now the big WIN. I had driveline vibration from the rear driveshaft that was driving me mad. Above 67 mph (indicated) the vibration was annoying, and driveshaft u-joint angles are less than 5 degrees so there is no need for a high angle driveshaft. I suspected the rear driveshaft was the problem even though i had it balanced and rebuilt. The other day I decided to remove the rear driveshaft from the equation so I picked up an Xterra rear shaft. Before installing the Xterra shaft I cleaned the rear diff pinion flange thoroughly , there may have been some binding here. All of my driveline vibrations are now gone, problem solved. Before I take the rear driveshaft back to the shop that balanced it I am going to reinstall it just to be sure there wasn't a problem with the pinion flange.

  8. I love what sleepers those cars are. Most people think it’s a Mustang or something, not a Supercar. Also, having ridden in the backseat while my brother test drove one, while a little plasticy, you totally can put people back there for around town-4 seater supercar, awesome. Finally, while likely more finicky than your average Nissan, still probably more reliable than probably every other supercar out there. Also a car I like in burnt orange & carbon fiber and I never thought I’d like burnt orange!

  9. The salt on the North Coast there really eats trucks up. In the NW I see a handful every day. As for the rear window deflector-there are 2 variations. That one looks like mine (‘02 LE) where the rear glass hatch is also the deflector mounting point. Another earlier version (possibly as late as ‘01) uses a deflector mount that is separate from the glass hinge. I think the glass hinge location is a constant & the deflector mounting point varies (slightly wider mounting point on the separate unit). One thing to consider is if you plan a full length rack. I’m putting the Rola V-Tech on mine & the deflector is then both functionally pretty useless plus it gets in the way reaching the rear of the rack, needing the rack farther forward to accommodate the deflector when the hatch is up & getting in the way of rack mounted, rear facing lights.

  10. (At least on my QX4) the spoiler is mounted to the hinges; the hinges for models with the spoiler have a protrusion that holds the spoiler away from the body slightly.

  11. Yeah, the midwest has been crazy lately! I live in west Michigan and haven't left my house since Monday haha. Soooooooooo much snow!

  12. Went out for some fun in the snow. The ol’ Pathy tackled 2 1/3 (give or take) feet of heavy snow. Got home with some nice new rims! LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Did you mean 265/70r16? I can't find any tires sold in that size... Taking off the running boards was one of the first things I did, they just looked clunky and added to the low rider look that came with my decades old stock suspension, so I love that look! If your goal is no trimming, that tire size should work (30ish by 10ish. Or, at the very least, I have no good reason to believe it wouldn't work. People have fit 30s and 31s on stock suspension with little to no rubbing/trimming, and even 32's with trimming and no lift.

  16. Picked me up another radio bezel, tool bag, distributor and what looks like a fairly new overflow reservoir from Pull-A-Part today. Didn't really need this stuff but got it anyway. Installing over flow on my 97 Q and bezel on my 96 Pathy. guys. Mr Cox 96R50-97JR50

  17. Love the rig bro also the Nismo decals. I've got a Nismo emblem I put in the grill on my 97 Q and posted a pic of it on pintrest. Some guy commented telling me to take it off that I was giving the authentic Nismo Nissan's a bad rap. I told him if I did, "then a$#holes like him wouldn't have anything to bitch about". LOL Never heard another word from him. Lol Mr Cox 96R50-97JR50

  19. Finally had one of my led brake lights die (lasted 11 years!), an own dome light & a few bulbs in the HMS light. Replaced dome, cargo, map, STT, HMS, & reverse lights with a combo of JDM & LUYED(sp?) led's. Interior is very well lit now and all the others seem to be of good quality and are substantially brighter than their predecessors. As a note, the led STT bulbs I had for 11 years were from superbrightleds.com. I did consider buying from them again, but their pricing on the newest/brightest versions are substantially more than other highly rated units. Figured I'd take a gamble on the cheaper ones, so hopefully they last a while.

  25. Just wanted to reflect over what I’ve learned from this forum. When I joined I was 16 in high school with a stock pathfinder and was clueless. Now I’m 25 with the same pathfinder and it’s about as built up as it can be until I go custom fab with it. Through reaserch and communication I have been able to build my pathfinder into what it is today. I feel that this forum is so much better than any Facebook group or things of that nature. I have joined some of these groups recently and I have found that all it is is people who have no idea what they are talking about making posts and wanting there car magically diagnosed and everyone asking questions about what lift I have or what size tires I have or how many miles are on my car etc etc etc when I have answered the question time after time and made posts about my build info. It made me realize how lazy people are and the lack of reaserch that is performed in order to make your dream pathfinder a reality. I just wanted to take a moment to thank people for telling newbies to go do homework before asking questions, that all the answers are literally right on this very forum and that it’s easy to find and get answers without bothering everyone with simple questions. I now have a coil lift with a sub frame drop, full belly skid plates, supersliders, locking hubs, 33s, and an endless list of other modifications, it took many years of hard work and experimentation but without this forum I would be where I am today. Here’s to those who have walked the same line as me and built their dream with the help of this forum. Cheers.
