  3. Just be careful of lateral snatches. Also, making a bridle that runs straight from one to the other has been known to crunch the radiator support

  4. found 2 broken muffler hangers, some rubbing on the crossember, fixing tomorrow, hopefully that is the issue.

  5. I've not read 1" as a max anywhere. As mentioned, it may come down to CV manufacturer, or the possibility that the truck sits (or operates) at difference angles at different times. I don't have a definitive answer to your truck, but I'd argue there are too many variables. I've run between 1.5" and 2" of net lift (currently 5" of lift on 3" SFD) without issues. Steve (aka @fleurys), the owner of SF Creation, is an active member of the community. His spacers are pretty popular, and I don't think he's had many complaints about them. I'd reach out to him directly if you have any concerns.

  7. Mine did the same. It always seems to be the muffler hangers too. Then the cat just touches the crossmember enough to be an issue.

  8. Yes, yes it has... my truck is a prime example of that. Lateral snatches should be okay with this design as it's braced underneath at 90 degrees. I've already bent my radiator support getting snatched around a corner from this situation using a bridle... If you look at the points closely, you'll see they don't quite point straight - I calculated the angle at which my 4 metre long bridle will sit at, and mounted the points at this angle to further reduce the inwards force on the lower rad support. As well, the front of my skidplate (4 mm alloy) mounts on the lower rad support with 4 bolts to further support it. I'm going to brace the radiator support between the two lower bolts with a section of 50x50x5 mm angle iron I'm getting from a mate to stop it bending any more. However, I'm currently in Dunedin so it'll have to wait until I get back to Christchurch.

  12. My 5160's appear to be rebuildable but im not sure how I would pressurize them either. The shock body and reservoir have circlips on the lower side that are removable, and im assuming used for servicing. If anything they can be sent in for warranty service from Bilstein and switched at that time.

  15. The air compressor was definitely the biggest part of the project that required custom fabrication of mounting brackets, which came out top notch thanks to [user]hawairish[/user]. There was a solid 40+ hours into the compressor install which I’m sure hawairish can fill in more about than I can. My engine bay is that of an 02 pathfinder which I believe should be identical to 00-02 pathfinders (i may be wrong). We initially drew up all the prints to mount the compressor in the rear underneath the car but then playing around with the engine bay we saw a possibility to mount it on the right side and re-align the fuse box. I have a viair 485c compressor, we took off the factory mounts and repositioned the compressor to its side where we have atleast a quarter inch clearance from the hood when fully closed. There is a custom bracket that mounts two of the legs on the viair and then a third leg is supported by a inch and half or so spaced where there’s a bolt and a washer keeping it mounted..... I’ll do another update where i unmount the compressor and show the actual brackets on both the fuse box and the viair Mind you we used factory mounting points and drilled no new holes into the engine bay or anywhere else in the car. A four way air manifold is connected to the compressor hose and fitted with the solenoid (which clears the air box perfectly), and then air’d to the front bumper quick connect and a second air manifold by the air-intake box. The air manifold was mounted to the intake box (no other place had clean enough and large enough fitment to run everything smooth and easily, keep in mind that all this is fitted for easy dismounting and assembling if ever in need of a possible repair) in pneumatics dozens of things can go wrong which leads to possible needs of repair. With the way everything is mounted, fixing possible leaks or wiring is extremely easy. The power and air hose is ran around the engine bay to the battery followed by the air hosing routed to the rear of the car. *the hoses you see in the pictures were during the install and were zip tied and fitted to the body.
