Guest psyopper
Hello all! Another new member here, from High Prairie Washington at the East end of the Gorge about 10 miles North of The Dalles. I just purchased a '93 XE 4x4 Automatic with 200K original miles. The truck runs great, shifts great, drives great and everything (almost!) works. I actually bought the car for my wife, but it will also be a back-up for my car when the weather turns anti-Miata (3+" standing snow). I'll be lurking for a while to feel out the forum. Some future questions will include: "Why are my ABS and Brake lamps on?" "Where can I get an affordable bull bar or HD bumper because my wife is a deer magnet?" "Are leaky Brake Masters and PS Pumps common?" and "What can I do to get the spare on the outside of my truck?" Anyway, nice to meet y'all... SC88Pathy
Welcome! We'v got many members in Washington, see who's in your neck of the woods and add yourself to our map here: www.frappr.com/npora If both your brake light and ABS light are on and your leaking fluid from your brake master cylinder you need to get your brake system inspected and repaired ASAP! Bull bars and HD bumpers are available from www.4x4parts.com and other sites. Unless your pathy origonally came with and external tire carrier it's nigh on impossible to get a stock tire carrier to work. However many members have put safari racks on the roof and put a full size spare in there. Hope we can help you with any other questions you might have! Precise1
Hey Brad, welcome !! 1) Several reasons are possible. It means your brakes are working as 4x lockable and I have not heard rave reviews about the ABS (rear only) system. You just may be low on brake fluid and baring leaks may mean brake shoes/pads may be needed relatively soon. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...1&hl=ABS++brake 2) Many places. Search is your friend on this one. ARB, Smittybilt, Westin are some names to start with. 3) Not really... Where are the leaks on either unit ? mws just rebuilt his brake MC and said it was super easy, I'll find the link... Oh, it may cure #1... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...master+cylinder 4) Mount a rear carrier (harder) or put it on the roof (easier). Do you have a roof rack ? Ok enough of that. Poke around, search, read and ask... B
