Hi from a Pathfinder enthusiast in Western Australia.

It is great to find another site dedicated to Pathfinders and Pathfinder offroad enthusiasts, we are a bit Toyota heavy in Australia.

I have a 1992 Terrano with heaps of mods: Intercooler and Nissan Patrol GU bonnet scoop, stainless steel snorkel, 2in lift, Cooper ST 31/10.5 15 tyres, 150L long range fuel tank, sub-floor storage compartments for recovery gear, spares and tool box, Alloy (ECB) bulbar with stainless steel mesh inserts, grill guard and new Lightforce 170 spotties (bloody fantastic). This is more of a long range off-road tourer than a rock hopper but it gets its fair share of tough tracks and as we call it “Bush Bashing”.

Right now I am trying to find a Locker to fit the front diff. I am also looking at options to fix the worn out steering centre link or fit dropped pitman and idler arms.

Wow thanks for all the replies, it is great to find such a group of enthusiastic Pathfinder owners.

I was feeling a bit dejected in West Aus, if you don’t have a Landcruiser or Patrol over here then they think you cant be a serious off roader. I have been most of the way around Australia and over most of the roughest tracks except a few really silly ones where the wife started to get too nervous (and I did not want to destroy the Pathy for a bit of ego).

Anyway I am very pleased with where the Pathfinder/Terrano will go and continue to explore new ground. I have done all of my own modifications mainly because I like to try things out (the wife recons I’m just too fussy) and because I don’t like the "that’s not a Landcruiser mate your wasting your time" attitude from some (but not all) of the 4x4 shops here.

So thanks it is refreshing to find likeminded Pathy people.

Anyway here are some pics of the snorkel and other bits, I will try to get pics of the under floor storage soon and long range tank.

Geordie,

What part of WA? I'm in Geraldton. But looking at the background in your pic and the height of the trees I'd say as a guess it's Perth or south. :D Love the front bash plate too and mesh too!

BTW one thing I have learned living downunder over the last 10 years is that everything aftermarket here is so expensive that you have to learn how to do things yourself.

Hi Steve,

yes you are right I'm in Perth. The shots were taken a couple of weekends ago up in the hills around Mundaring. Unfortunately I could not get any good shots while on the really steep hill climbs I was too busy holding on to the wheel.

Yes I agree about the do it yourself modifications although the wife would rather I was building the new kitchen than my car, camper trailer etc. But hey they get to boldly go where no Terrano has gone before, and lots of camping.

I was up your way (Geraldton) a few months ago on the way through to Kalbarri. Great spot but pity a lot of the tracks are closed. I would like to get back up that way again and explore further to the north of the Murchison river.

Geordie
