  1. Just curious...do you guys get the diesel option in your new Pathfinders over there? I can't understand why alot of vehicles that you can buy in diesel everywhere else in the world aren't offered in the US market. I was born and raised in the US and used to love my gas guzzling V8's when I was a kid. But gas was 80 cents a gallon back then too. Since moving to Australia I am really starting to love the diesel engines. Take one over a petrol/gasoline engine anyday.
  2. Sorry I was in such a rush I didn't bother to scroll down and see there was an Australia/NZ section now. Shows ya how long since my last visit! A mod can move this post if they deem it necessary.
  3. Hey all, Been a fair while since I've logged in here. Can't believe I remembered my password! Firstly this forum solved my problem of my 94 Pathy running like crap down to an O2 sensor. Which leads to my first question. My buddy is a mechanic and we hooked the Pathy up to the machine and couldn't find anything amiss. I also changed the plugs and fuel filter. Probably needed it anyway as I don't know how well the last owner looked after it. He also hooked a little computer up to measure the O2 sensor. He said it looked a bit weird. Said as the engine was running it should flick to showing rich and lean as the computer adjusts from the sensor input. It was basically running between normal and lean all the time. But the Pathy was running ok at that particular time. Would only run badly on the odd ocasion. Mainly when cold it seemed. Anyway seeing where the connector was for the sensor I decided to unplug it altogether after barely making it up the street one morning. Since I have unlpugged it, it has ran sweet ever since. The fuel economy seems to be even better than when I bought it and it was running fine then. So after all that here's question No 1. 1. I haven't bothered to replace the sensor. Just left it unplugged. Will I do any damage to anything by doing this? Never got the codes as I forgot to print out the instructions before taking it to him. His Snap-On code reader was acting funny the day I took it in. Question 2: Did the 94 4 Door Pathy's come with Roof Racks as an Option? Mine has roof racks and I am looking for some fishing rod holders that mount on the racks. I live on the ocean here in Western Australia and fish all the time. A 12 foot beach rod, even in 2 pieces is hard to fit inside the Pathy. I can't see any markings on my roof rack that tell me it's OEM or after market. Anyway sorry for the long story. Thanks for your help! Steve
  4. Excellent! Thanks mate! I really didn't do alot (ie none) of research in what is available locally. Mind if I ask the price?
  5. Jeep Parts cheap in Australia? Trust me I highly modified a 97 TJ here. not cheap what-so-ever. But I might be able to find a JGC at a wrecking yard or something.
  6. Opps. My apology! But in the past it was just too hard wading through all the political posts to bother browsing the site.
  7. I think I remember reading here that coils from a Jeep Grand Cherokee will work in a Pathy. After my trip away I have discovered that the Pathy's suspension is definately shagged. Mines a 94 and I don't think the coils or shocks have ever been replaced. I've owned it for about 7 months now. Looking for a cheap way to get the suspension back to normal. So my question is what year JGC coils will suit my 94 Pathy?
  8. I always liked my 12.5's on a 8" rim. Sidewall provided more protection for the rim from rocks and I could always air down more than others running a 10" rim without worrying and losing the bead. But that is just my opinion and it wasn't on a Pathy either.
  9. The last time it was 2 days. But previously it's been maybe 2-3 hours.
  10. Anybody else have any ideas? Bueller...Bueller...Bueller...?
  11. Opps should mention it's the 3.0l V6 not a deisel.
  12. It was on 3/4 of a tank. It's happened twice now. Once in my mates driveway and again today when I was leaving the beach camp.
  13. Park with the nose facing up a hill or steep driveway of say 10-20 degrees or so the Pathfinder won't start. Have to roll it level and then she'll go. Runs fine after starting, even up steep hills? Fuel Pump problem??? What do you think?
  14. Definately HG43. Clearly a 3.
  15. Actually it says HG43, had to go look twice to make sure I saw it correct the first time.
  16. Thanks Vsicks. BTW you must have me confused with someone else. I'm not making any drawers.
  17. What are the stock diff ratios of a 94?
  18. The "Not alot of 4WDing" by the previous owner could point to the front hubs. If they are not locked in and used every now and then they don't get any lubrication. They could be dried out.
  19. I've only had my Pathfinder a short time so I am still learning. But had a similar problem on an older car. It had electronic ignition module. IE an module that replaces the points in the distributor. Every time it would get hot it would start to run very badly and then wouldn't start until it cooled down for an hour or so. Not sure if the Pathy's are the same or not. Just throwing out some ideas. Does it run like crap once it gets hot?
  20. Sorry my mistake. Just did a bit more looking and it wasn't a female driver. Musta been thinking of some other vid I've seen.
  21. You can't even see the driver in that vid.
  22. Sorry Pezzy wasn't making any particular reference to how females drive. I could be wrong but I was certain it was a female. Saw that vid about 2-3 years ago and I thought the spotter was the husband and the driver was his wife. I might be mistaken. And Pezzy my wife is very good driving offroad!!!
  23. An oldie but a goodie. BTW it was a female that was driving!
  24. Yeah there's not alot of local talent, just watch Australian Idol and you'll see that! Most Aussie bands that make it, really make it and end up in the US anyway. Like AC/DC for example.
