Fumoto Drain Valve

Nope, but sounds intriguing. I'd be much happier with a better physical barrier to prevent any sort of actuator movement, aka... a locking tab.

That's probably just me being paranoid. No way it would ever be bumped open somehow.

I've seen one's like this before, I would offer the suggestion of a simple length of safety wire between the handle and the body to prevent un wanted movement. No matter how secure the actuator is wouldn't hurt to be a little more secure.

They are nice pieces. Popular with Porsche & BMW owners for years. The "N" variant of these valves has a nipple to attach a length of hose to so oil changes on lifted rigs are not so messy as when arc of the hot oil misses the catch pan on the ground. Just direct the hose from the valve to the pan.

I like the idea but what if you smash it off whilst wheeling?

Warning:

For users under extreme conditions:

If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles such as farm tractors and logging equipment under extreme environment (i.e. corn fields, brush areas), it is recommended that a hose clip as shown below be used for extra safety and security. The hose clip, which can be purchased at any hardware stores, will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.

Safety:

Drive carefully at all times, and if you run over any foreign object on the road pull over and check the valve for any damage or leak.

N-Series valve (with nipple to accept hose) is not recommended for passenger cars with low clearance.

neat... good principal to it, I like my normal drainplug though. Call me a creature of habit

and if your that worried about a magnet on your drainplug, just stick a strongish one on your oil pan

I am weary just because even with a clip to keep it from opening whats to stop a rock from ripping it right off?

If I had a skid there then it would be nice but otherwise I'll stick with my bolt and leaky re-used crush washers
