Headlights for pathy

Probably fine. I wouldn't go putting HIDs in them though! I have always preferred the light dispersement in the glass and not on the back of the housing myself though.

Ah, Eagle Eye brand! I bought a set of those for one of my old escort's. I LOVED them. But they were OEM style, not "euro". So hard to say.

I had those and within 3 months one started collecting moisture and the other one would move when you hit bumps. Emailed the company and got told it was me installing them incorrectly.

I have those and haven't had any problems with them. I think I swapped the OE brackets onto the replacements as the replacements are very flimsy. A lot better output than my old stockers.

You could always candy them, or try to source a set of covers or taillight guards.

your stock lights have fluting in the glass. it would mess up the projector. you would need to buy something with a clear face, like the "euro" lights you just posted to do a projector mod.

I think I saw a Terrano on here once with euro-looking tails, looked like it thought it was a Range Rover though. If you were ambitious enough you could split the plastic lens from the housing, make a mold, and re-cast in clear plastic... lot of work for a tail light, though.

Provide a step by step with a LOT of photos, and don't use words with more then 3 syllables when doing the write up. Include brand and part #'s, price break down and total cost. Do this or ye shall be BANISHED! :new576:

no just stop it with the euro lights they are annoying enough on ricers

Huh? The good Euro lights have the most well controlled beam pattern that allows you to run stupid bright lights without affecting oncoming traffic. Euro-spec lights own DOT-spec lights any day.

The problem with those Eagles is that they are plastic, we've all seen what happens to plastic headlights...

they only melt if you run cheap ass bulbs i run a 155watt hella since i have had the pathy and no issues, no water, no condensation, discoloration, or melting, real question is why a headlight thread turns in to a taillight thread, euro tails are not euro lol there chinese, and there illegal in most states

I don't like clear lenses because the beam pattern isn't as precise/controlled and they oxidize over time. That's what I was talking about, the nasty yellow lights on older Fords and stuff.

But for real brightness, H4s+power+relays, these are a good deal. I really wish they made them in glass, if they did I would already have some.

For the headlights, I would suggest as mensioned and use your factory brackets if possible, personal experience has shown me that most of those aftermarket headlamp housings are on more brittle bracketry (though I have seen some that were rather sturdy). My main beef with plastic headlamp housings though is as Kingman said, they discolor and yellow (generally from the inside out-don't let the headlight restorer kit ads fool you), especially here having 4 seasons and salted roads during one of them...

As for your taillight thoughts, all it takes is some 220 sandpaper, a little masking tape, and a can of red Testors model spray paint

solid red (don't bother, it kills any usefulness of the reverse lights as you would guess)

as for 'euro taillights' being illegal, buyer beware but if you don't hurry and click but now, check for DOT numbers on them. Some of them are actually "better" (not in a sense of taste, personally) than factory ones as they have bigger reflector areas. And even if you do knowingly get a set that don't have DOT numbers just make sure to keep your stockies and play dumb i fyou get pulled over, get a fix-it ticket and show up with your factories on to get it dismissed.

japanese manufacturers did something that domestic ones did not that I REALLY like. And that's a seperate blinker from the brake light, and it's generally orange. Look at all japanese vehicles from the 80s and 90s, and you'll see for yourself. I have seen both lights being red on newer japanese models.

Personally, what I would do to obtain what you want, is get a good set of tail lights, yours sound like they might have some condensation in them, tape off the blinker portion, and put three coats of Niteshade on the blinker and tail/brake light, then buy a super bright RED led bulb for your blinker, and then both your brake and blinker should appear red when turned on. I plan to niteshade the orange on my tails just so it blends with the black plastic garnish that's on the hatch.

Tinting the tail lights beyond being able to see the output in direct sunlight is illegal, this is in WA state though. three shades is the perfect medium for light output, and "black"
