bsb1957
Well..I cant believe i tried this.I found the infamous hole in floorbord in drivers well caused by exhaust pipe(baseball size).First i wirewheeled the floorpan then gave it a coat of rust inhibiting primer.I then cut out a cakepan bottom, heated it up a bit then tapped it into the contours of the floor, used red permatex high temp gasket maker and mounted it down(stainless 3/8" screws).Next is to get under it and get creative there along with making a shield for that pipe.Lets see how it works.I know the body guys and welders are shaking thier heads and i guess i cant blame them.Quit laughing! GrimGreg
I welded some patches and screwed others in. Rather than siliconing mine, I just covered the entire inside of the patches with fiberglass. On the undersides I just layered undercoating over the edges and screw ends. Sealed so well, I had to drill drain holes when my floor boards filled with water . Simon
You're not the first to use baking supplies to fix the hole in the floor. K9Sar did the same. This is a case of whatever works, in my opinion. It's not the most glamorous solutions, but there's no hole in your floor.

k9sar
hasn't failed me yet. Of course, mine was done in the parking lot of a walmart. Yours is a much cleaner install. Nice job.
Pezzy
If you could stop from stepping on them, you could buy some Pillsbury cookie dough, roll into cookie pieces, place it on the pans, and then let the heat off the exhaust cook them.

Top Gear did something like that when they had Gordon Ramsay interviewed on their show. They cooked food on the engines. It was pretty funny lol
Kittamaru
Just out of curiosity - how difficult is something like this to get right? I mean, my biggest fear is doing this and all of a sudden I get into the truck and *crack* my leg goes thru the repair job... heh

Job openings are few and far between here, especially since Tembec closed the pulp mill. But in the next couple years i fully expect a new mine to open. theres lots of drilling and exploration goin on.
bsb1957
I hear what your saying Kittamaru,i thought the same way.Im working on reinforcing from underneath also. But to be honest once i got my carpeting ,underlay and floor mats back in and stompmed on the floorboard a bit it seemed fine.Mind you,the hole i had wasnt too bad and surrounding metal wasnt rotten.Time will tell.A proper fix is the way to go if you can cut and weld. nunya
I've used license plates from previous cars, laches cut from different pannels of junk cars, street signs(funny when someone would look under my 93 HB and see "no parking here to corner"). I don't see why a cooking sheet wouldn't work.
GrimGreg
Exterior sheet metal off of washers and driers works nice for body repairs too.
