GrimGreg
Does it just rev out in second? You might have got the tranny hot and sent it into "safe mode".
nismothunder
If your still having the problem look in my tread on the same thing... But yet what gg said is correct...but if it still is doing it flush the tranny and change the filter.

k9sar
are we talking a manual or auto tranny (auto I think). You can read the AT control unit with a series of key and button things.
GrimGreg
would any dummy lights be on...if it was in safe mode????.....t Nope, no lights will come on until you get the tranny hot enough to toast it completely, then the trans temp light will come on. By then, your tranny is a door stop.
94extreme
my guess is that it's probably toast but try it again after it has a chance to cool off.

beastpath
the bad alternator can fry your tranny. I think thats what did in mine as it only started having problems when i put the electric fan in and i didnt have enough juice. I think solidsnake on here had the same thing happen to him. GrimGreg
auto to manual swap!!! jk sorry wish i could help i have a manual so i know nothing about the auto besides they seem fragile Actually they aren't fragile, but you gotta treat em right. Keep the fluid clean and cool and the auto will last a LONG time.
adamzan
I've got a 93 with 215k miles roughly converted from kilometers with a mint auto. And it never even had an external cooler put on. Just good maintenance.
