91PathSE
Can you use the stock shocks with the 3 inches of lift from the JGC...Pathy wont be offroad for a while. So just curious if I can use the stocks for a lil while?...or untill I can afford new shocks.

GrimGreg
You'll be OK, you just won't have full droop, and it may ride a little rougher having the shocks sit near max extension but no harm.

91PathSE
Why v8 is the v6 smaller or not as stiff
GrimGreg
Why v8 is the v6 smaller or not as stiff Yeah, the weight of the V8 required larger, stiffer springs. The I6 springs will give a little lift, but only about 1".

91PathSE
what kind of a price and shipping to 03825...my pathy is sagging in the rear so it needs new coils...the v6 coils should get it level or a lil more..then go with the v8's unless yours are cheap... RedPath88
There is a thread here where k9sar detailed many of the front springs offered in Grand Cherokee's (and how to ID them) if you search around for it you should be able to find it. One thing that was discovered is that the springs we prefer for lifting the rears of our pathy's can be found in both the V8 and I6 equipped models
91PathSE
Just got the I6 coils they are bigger than mine and just as stong...so they are going in maybe friday morning...
mws
Here's the link: http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...80&start=80 The I6 springs may be quite adequate, depending on which they are. Jeep used MANY different spring rates. Slap a caliper on the wire and measure and you'll know what to expect.
91PathSE
Correction they are beign put in on monday mornign in the shop....coils are going to lift about 4 inches....they are about 18 inchs, and much stronger than the current pathy spring...pulled on this morning to match them up. 91PathSE
Jeep coils are bent to the right diameter and ready to go in.....Tomorrow morning....T-bars are all oiled up and cracked loose...should take about 2 hours with 2 guys doing tbars and Myself and another guy doing the rear coils...Would do it by myself but im crunched on time...it has to be in and out in 2 hours....So it shouldnt take long at all...then its my new rims and tires. They were the .560 thickness ZN code or some thing like that with a yellow tag.. Did you use the front and rear Jeep coils for your lift? Or are you talking just rear
Iceman2989
He's got a different model of pathfinder, so the JGC coils work fine for them, but only fit the rear of our 96-2004 models.
