A Different Kind of Offroader

Many cars have been placed on truck chassis... "sometimes" it looks good, most of the time (IMO) it's lame.

I had a friend who took an '81 yota that rolled over and put a '73-'77 (don't remember the exact year) Celica body on it. he did an exellant job and made sure everything was sturdy and working correctly.

When he took it in for inspection and licensing, he was told that he could not do that. In WA State car bumpers have to be within (iirc) 21in from the ground to the bottom of the unmodified and stock bumper... he was well above that

*they both became parts cars

If I ever give into the fact that my Pathgrinder makes a lousey commuter car, my plan is to get a cheap Subaru (mid-late '80s) for $500-$1000 and toss in an Ozified 3.5" lift kit.

YYYEEEAAAHHH!!! 10 inch clearance in a beater car plus a steady supply of cheap replacement power trains and bodies! Wreck your car, buy another for $500, swap over your lift and tires... back in action.

Might just sell my pathfinder and get out of debt!
