We can't talk about aftermarket bumpers or 4" lifts because they are scared of losing business (too bad they don't sell bumpers or 4" lifts) But i've been busy working and hanging out with my girl. yes. Make sure to change your plugs and oil after running seafoam, and be careful because VG33's already run hot as it is. Sea foam will make it run a lot hotter (temporary) and will foul your plugs.

What? I find the OEM Nissan tool to be *perfect* for plug #6. There is a groove cut into the firewall specifically for the plug #6 tool (the shorter tool). I did cut my hands on the firewall the first time ever changing plugs, but it has been very easy ever since then. Changing plugs takes 10 minutes now, minus the time to blow compressed air all over the place. Don't throw your tools away - if anything, sell them on here in the Classifieds. People need those.

18.4 mpg is abnormally good for an R50!

Yes, use compressed air to clean the spark plug areas first. The stock Nissan tool (under rear seat) already has a rubber grommet inside it to hold a spark plug. There are two of these tools. The shorter one is for plug #6. You do not need any tape for either of the OEM Nissan tools. Please use NGK. Trust me. I've had Bosch platinum plugs fail in my Nissan TWICE (once in the middle of Baja) and in less than 12k miles. I ran a single set of NGK plugs for 75k miles +, without a single problem. (they should be changed regularly anyways) I only use NGK now, and i've never been happier.

What I did to a honda:

some primer, followed by black "crinkle paint" is your friend.

it can be: Tires - flat spots or sidewall bubbles Wheels - Bent rims (out of round) or out of balance Loose wheel bearings. When was the last time you repacked them? there's more, but those are the 1st things I would try and diagnose. Try rotating the wheels and see if that has an effect.

my girlfriend always does things that make my heart skip a beat. For example, turning the wheel from full left to full right while at standstill, or when parking on a hill, she puts the auto tranny in park (without the e-brake) and lets the QX4 rest its weight on the tranny. THEN, she pulls the ebrake last. TERRIBLE!

Wow, great angle! PS - larger tires will throw your speedometer and trip meter off, so MPG figures become skewed. You're actually getting better MPG than the numbers indicate, because you're going farther than your trip meter says.

Wow, great info in this post. My question is - can driving techniques effect the life of power steering? For example, not letting my girlfriend crank the wheels from left to right while at a standstill?

i put a used condom in my intake manifold and saw 15 mpg increase and 60 horsepower!!

I get 17 mpg on avg. in my 99 QX4 (and don't regret any moment of it!) My favorite characteristics are the smooth ride and quiet cabin. good luck with your purchase!

Which cylinder is # 2 on a VG33E? Does a code of P0302 mean cylinder #2 misfire ?

EDIT: cool guy on 4x4parts.com told me: " the easiest way to do it is to get the haynes manual from an auto parts store, it has step by step instructions. The quick and dirty is , pull the computer out, turn the ignition on but do not start the engine. then you turn the screw in the computer through the hole all the way (forget Which way) wait for 2 seconds, then turn it back...then you get flashie codes." I have found autozones free OBD2 scanner ($60 value) to be even easier

For doing that much suspension work, I would definitely recommend an alignment. I installed KYB GR2's as well (110k) without doing anything to the control arm and it made a world of difference, I definitely neede an alignment... Best suggestion would be, drive it on a flat, smooth freeway, let go the wheel and see what happens. :oops:
