    Lifter Swap

I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if you could post your results. Did the lifters fix the problem?
  2. Mine's loud--either the baffling inside has come apart or there's a hole on top of it, but in case, I'm looking into 2 options. Either replacing it, or possibly deleting it and having an exhaust shop putting in a y-pipe. I'm just wondering if anyone has deleted the main muffler and if they could tell me their experience on how much louder the exhaust note became, etc.
  3. No bucking. It just surges anywhere from 3-400 rpms while cruising in 4th gear on the highway. It almost feels like a downshift when it occurs, but it isn't. I haven't really noticed it in the other 3 gears. I did a little searching through the archives (that's where I found this post) and I came across a possible coolant leak at the throttle body. Is this a common problem? I have been smelling that sweet odor of coolant every once in a while.
  4. I know this is bringing this back from the dead, but I'm experiencing this same thing on my '96 Pathy. But, I've got an auto tranny. Has anyone come up with a fix for this? Or does anyone know how to test the throttle position sensor?
  5. I'm looking to go to a less aggressive tire, roads only, and noticed the XEs came with 235/75/15 tires. There are more options in this size than my stock SE sized tires of 265/70/15. Has anyone gone with the 235/75/15 tires on SE wheels?
  6. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the suspension switch was on the early '96s? On the noise, it's only there for 1-2 seconds. I just thought maybe it was connected to the suspension.
  7. The suspension switch on my '96 Pathfinder doesn't light up, as it says it should in the owners manual. Is there a way for me to find out if the suspension is changing according to the switch? Also, when I shut off the engine, I can hear a buzzing/compressor-type noise on the right side of the engine bay. Any help?
  8. OEM Nissan parts are made by other manufacturers. Anyone know the manufacturer of OEM Nissan timing belts, tensioner, water pump, hoses, thermostat, acc. belts, camshaft seals? I'm getting ready to do my T-belt and I'm doing a little price comparison shopping. I'm looking at buying parts through rockauto.com. TIA
