  1. Actually, to swap in a V6 you'll have to use a different transfer case than the 4banger one. You could use a transfer case that came behind a VG motor, with the VQ engine/tranny supposedly. Or if you have access to the whole VQ drivetrain you could use all the parts. Then again, that could be out of a QX4 and be full-time 4wd which I'm guessing wouldn't be what you would want.
  2. Swap on all the IFS parts from the Pathy getting the solid axle stuff. That, or finish one sas and start on the 89, nothing wrong with having two sas nissans...
  3. I don't have a Pathy (yet) but my HB got a ton of gifts this year (new engine, lift, 33s, etc) so wasn't needing anything for Christmas. However, I gave it a couple character marks while learning to drive with a LockRight on ice (the lr was the Turkey Day present). It now has a pushed in excab panel, and a really cool scrape/dent on the door, both on the passenger side. It doesn't like the excab panel dent so I'll push that out, but the scrape on the door is like a really cool scar...and it wears it with pride...so I'll leave it. I'm contemplating getting the HB some presents in the new year, but 06 was a DAMN good year for it, so it can wait.
  4. A sweetass Golf (or is it a GTI? I can't remember). There's a 2dr being parted out in Meridian Cory, if you need some parts. It was hit in the side, but not hard. Blue interior too. I almost think, if you're thinking about selling both rigs for one, why not do that but buy another Pathy? I don't know what your Golf is worth, but maybe you could get rid of it and spring for a Pathy that costs half as much as you got for the Golf? I don't know what all your Pathy needs, but that might be a good alternative. There's a nice 2dr over here in the impound lot; if you're interested I could probably find out about it for ya...
  5. I've got one that's gray...but it's already sold. If I would've known they were so rare, I woulda kept an eye out long ago. I'll post if I find another
  6. And it seems to run, again. He got it to run about 3 seconds to the end of my alley, and it died again. Then it started again, so who knows. One of his fusible links was loose this time apparently. I'm starting to think this thing is cursed. Or Ben is, something. I'm not going to say it's fixed, cuz as soon as I do, he'll have to fix something else. So instead I'll just say that it wasn't in my shop when I left La Grande. Pretty safe there I hope, knock on wood
  7. There's no injector pulse, any ideas where to start troubleshooting?
  8. Geez Dan, Ben needs all the help he can get, don't edit those posts...unless of course it was cussing or something I guess... So yeah, it did it again. I think we're going to actually need to fix it for real now, cuz the HB clutch ain't happy about pulling the d@mn thing all the time. So, any new ideas? I think he already tried the injector thing that made it work last time, but other than that, it's up in the air. Again. :help:
  9. It ain't the pump. He replaced the pump and the thing still won't start. He didn't tell me if it was still doing the same thing or what, but I'm assuming it is. I'm about half wondering if it is spark. Then again, the thing fires great on ether but won't fire with gas. He said replacing the pump helped a lot though. Where he had plenty of pressure before, now he has LOTS of pressure. Enough to squirt gas across my shop at least.
  10. Already tried jumping it, no change. It has a deep cycle Orbital in it anyway, so it does pretty well that way. Pulled the fuel relay at lunch, didn't change anything. Unless we were supposed to pull it, then disconnect the battery so the computer would reset itself or something. I'm waiting for Ben to call me and I'll go pick him up, then we're gonna pull a plug or two, and maybe try the ether thing as well. We're supposed to get golf ball size hail this evening, so that may curtail some Pathy work. If nothing else, we'll see if we can squeeze both Nissans into my shop.
  11. One thing Ben's forgetting to mention here is that every time we let it sit, even for an hour or so, it'll act like it wants to fire once right off, then just cranks and cranks and cranks. To me, it doesn't sound like it wants to turn over real well after that first time, but I'm not positive on that. I think we're gonna pull a plug or two tomorrow to check them out, but I'm pretty much stumped. It's putting out good fuel pressure too, or seems like it to me...
  12. Hmm, a '90 2 door, (mpi in the better body style), in blue, SE, 4 wheel discs, manual transmission, with the factory light bar, rear tire carrier. factory fogs, all the good sheet. Lockright in rear or modded lsd, lsd up front, 3 plus 3, 33" BFG muds on MB Motoring wheels, tcase gears, 4.9s. It would be the perfect all around truck for me, it'd work well on and offroad, look decent, haul a few passengers, and be hella fun wherever.
  13. Woof. For some reason I read that as "first porn" and was about ready to hurl. Swap in a manual Rami. You KNOW you want to...
  14. It's an 04 you guys, fenders and things are a little different. First off, that's not typical bolt pattern. The new Frontys/Xs/Pathys have a 6x4.5" bp, and you pretty much have to run a 16" or larger. I dunno about the Pathys, but people have easily fit 285/75/16s on the stock wheels with the AC lift on Frontys and Xs. Just an FYI
  15. Hmm, hurry up and get on the new tires already. For everybody else, those tires are SHEEEIT. I didn't notice you were on top the pathy in the second to last pic. And I still think Ashley shoulda taken some pictures of me pulling you out... but no problem there, it was pretty fun. When you get that disc rearend, dont get the lsd. Use the discs in the axle you have now, and put a lockright in it. Would be much better offroad. As soon as I find a 233 I can afford, we can see how the lockright does in the snow. I don't think it will be bad at all, and with the Pathy's better weight balance than my truck...yeah, itll be good. Cut out the wheel spacers. You don't really need them. If you wanna see how bad it is (it isn't really) we'll throw the 33s on my truck and you can check it out. Or maybe you should check out Casey T.'s Pathy, he's got those 33x9.5 SXTs I was telling you about...they'd probably be cheaper yknow... And as far as the tire carrier goes, get a bumper/tire carrier made. I told you about that one guy in Elgin, and there's another guy around here sometimes that could do a nice job for ya... That's about all the input I have. I'm pretty sure you've heard it all from me before, but one more time doesn't hurt. And like I toldja, the couple moved out, so there's room in the shop again. Plenty of room for a Pathy bl or other stuff...
  16. Happy Birthday Cory, which rig is getting the bday money? Hope it all goes well etc. Your myspace says you're 24 now, congrats you old fart.
  17. I thought the earlier trucks had 31 spline? At any rate the 96+ trucks have 33 splines
  18. I agree, definitely gonna need a lift for those tires. I've seen a 93 XE with that size tire on the stock 6" wide rim, he used a bl with a little taller coils and a tbar crank and had very minimal trimming. Just an FYI
  19. I think they're one and the same Kris. How I wish I had an mpi engine so I could get one of those
  20. Nice quote under the avatar Justina I think, atm, it's kinda a crapshoot with Calmini. I applaud them for being ballsy enough to produce an sas kit for our trucks when most of us are pretty broke and aren't promising huge sales numbers to them. I also remember reading somewhere (NOR?) that Calmini hired this David guy to help with their CS issues. They know they've sucked it up in the past, and I think it's awesome that they're doing something about it. I also don't think the MC kit can be compared to the Calmini kit. While I'd shoot for the price and quality of the MC parts if I were building a Nissan kit, I also know that those Yoter kits have been subsidized by other customers, as they've been on the market for quite awhile now. By no means am I saying Calmini is an excellent vendor. I haven't heard of one of their steering kits that hasn't needed modded to either fix the bushings or the squeaking, and they advertise stuff they don't sell (rear bumper for the HBs, interior rollcage, etc). I'm just saying that they're looking up, and if they're willing to R&D their SAS kit and tcase gears etc, and they're of good quality as they seem to be, I'll be willing to buy them as soon as I scrape up the dough. That said, I'm almost willing to bet money that the rig they mention for moab this year is the 2dr pathy with either coils or coilovers up front
  21. Nissan Z24i 4banger is the same way, 8 spark plugs. They're definitely easier than VG30 plugs tho As far as the Ranger thing tho, I've known a lot of people they've done well by. I'm guessing the Ranger you're referencing isn't the same thing we can get over here? And the clincher of course, is it a diesel?
  22. Heh, I don't even have a Pathy yet, but I live close to Harbinger and GreenEnvy, might just hafta steal one of theirs, hehe
  23. I agree, that sounds a little high. There was a nice silver 89 SE 4x4 manual with all the options for sale over there with a lot less than 200k (can't remember atm, something like 150) for $2000, which sounds like a better deal than the one you're looking at. If you're looking for a nice 2dr, I'd say to keep looking. Why are you looking for another one anyway? That green one probably wants to be lifted etc. This is the same reason I won't buy a second vehicle, it means affording twice as many mods
