that explains the color you are painting the engine
  2. word is to completely bypass your stock one. Don't just put an external in-line.
  3. I must be one of the lucky ones. My stock rails held up well when I decided to dent and scrape them though I never put the full weight of the pathy on them. If nothing else, they'll tell you if you are exceeding your ground clearance.

I hear that's big with the college crowd nowadays. :)
  5. bad news Rach... heads won't fit in a flat-rate box (by about a half inch and my post office is a stickler about not deforming the box)
  6. exactly. I put mine on the rear glass (but it was a white one). Black would simply disappear on my truck.
  7. someone post a pic of their black one on their truck. I'm curious as to where it's placed and how it looks.
  8. is th 'P' gonna be modified to match the pathfinder lettering? Will Offroad be changed to Off Road? I already have 2... but would get more if those mods were included.
  9. *snicker snicker*... she said "chest"

    DEFINATELY! That'd look really great!
  13. LOTS of good info on the boards and very helpful people. Please don't be afraid to ask your questions here. Besides the normal level of useless banter, I'm sure you will find your answers from our members.
  14. ah. ok. just wondering cause I have a set of OEM cams from my 95 (unless Slick wants them too)
  15. the only problem (other than questionable quality) with the pacesetters is the fitment of the EGR pipe (So I've heard) looking forward to the challenge.
  16. my pacesetters are sitting in a box in my garage... my very cold garage... No installation until it's a bit warmer out. We may be going through this pain together 94.
  17. r u looking for cams? I'm now officially coinfused. I thought you got the pathy back and were driving it.

I also know a mechanic who swears by the process of putting a sledge behind the c-link and smacking the front of it really hard. He claims that this momentarily distorts the opening enough that it 'squirts out' the tapered tie-rod end and you don't need a puller or pickle fork. personally, beating the hell out of the c-link is less desireable than beating the tie-rod end (which you are replaceing anyway)

I'm gonna disagree with Simon a bit. I have replaced several and the use of a pickle fork can damage the grease boot fairly easily. I have found that the easiest way is to pull the cotter pin and loosen the nut up to the top of the bolt. Then use a hammer and smack the top of the bolt a few times really hard. Don't worry about the threads, you can dress them by simply removing the nut. Also, if you put the nut flush with the top of the bolt, you have a better striking surface. Once it's off, take a measurement from the adjustment sleeve (not the lock nut cause that'll probably be replaced) to the ball-end of the joint. Use a little geometry to determine a point to measure to as there is not a good 90 degree angle between the adjustment bolt and the mount bolt. Loosen the adjustment nut and spin out the tie-rod end. You can then place the lock bolt back into the exact position where it was (should be obvious on the threads of the old TR-end) and match it up to your new one (measure from ball-joint end cause the adjustment bolt may be a different length). Mark the new threads with a marker or piece of tape so that when you spin in into the adjustment sleeve, you can get it the exact location the old one was. Once in place, spin down the lock nut and tighten her up. Reinstall into the c-link or wherever it came from. Double check your measurement from before. Even if you are a thread off or so, your alignment should be fine enough so that you need not rush out for an alignment if you don't want to.

sweet! no, really... I'm sure there are lots of places to go offroading in San Francisco.
  21. sorry... I don't have the '95 OM electronically.
  22. they are both idiots and lying to you. Simon is correct. the complete redesign came out mid '95 as the '96 model. The '95 was just a slightly altered '94 which is also why the '94 factory service manual is 2 inches think and the '95 is issued as a 3/4 inch suppliment to the '94. As for a '95 owners manual... I have never opened mine. If you know how to drive and have basic automotive knowledge, I don' tthink you even need the owners manual. If you were gonna spend the money, buy a FSM off ebay or download one. Much more info there. However... if you have your heart set on a '95 OM, I might be able to help but it'll have to wait until I get to work in the morning. looked at your profile... blank information. What's your general geographic location?
  23. Hey Slick. I still have parts available from my pulled engine. Once you settle on a block and are geting it ready to install, let me know if you need anything.
