  1. dude... where ya been... 88 posted a link to a freebie (and I think he is also hosting a copy). I downloaded the zip file (something like 42 MB) and it's all pdf files. Would be nice if it were an interactive indes or all one document so searching could happen. I haven't had time to muck around with it to get it that way yet.
  2. I rode alot in New Mexico when I lived there. Had to replace my tubes with dense foam inserts since the cactus out there would eat yuour tires at least twice per ride. There's also nothing like barrelling down a rocky path and hitting a nice soft sand filled arroyo to give you some sick air (without the bike, of course). You just pray that there's nothing that'll kill you in your landing zone. Spent many an evening pulling spines out of my knees and elbows.
  3. throw it into reverse. If it is real sluggish, it may be on its way out. The reverse gear uses a higher oil pressure than the forward gears so it's usually the first to show signs of crapping-out.

    Low power

we always referred to it as "goose-poop green"
  7. make sure you have a good connection between your battery posts and the cables. If bad, your battery may be perfectly fine but insufficient power getting to the rest of the vehicle. Jumpstarting would work fine since you clamp onto the cable, not the posts. Throw a volt-meter on the posts, then on the clamps and make sure they read the same.
  8. just don't dump a quart of Coleman Fuel in it. Although it's great for cleaning parts and breaking down the gunk, things get quite interesting when you fire-up the engine.... literally. and no, it wasn't me who did it.... it was a cousin of mine from the shallow end of the gene pool.
  9. if it's from the VG30E, I may have one avaialble. I still have some parts left from my engine swap.
  10. me too (small) Pathfinder (caps) Pathfinder (mixed) Pathfinder

    Drip Drip Drip

taste it. (yea yea... I know... YUK) Just touch a bit to your tongue. If it's sweet, it's coolant. A little bit won't hurt you, just don't drink a cup of it. How it got to the rear of the truck baffles me.
  12. my AT on the 95 died under 100K miles. Of course, I abused it.
  13. Eastern PA, just outside Phila
  14. didn't you install a compressed air cylinder for your tires? Just hook that up. If you're offroad, use it for tires. On the highway, blast the air horn.
  15. I had a terrible squeal in the front passenger side of my pathy. I was ready to pull all my hair out until I finally decided to make my wife get out of the truck. Problem solved.
  16. LOL it's due to the belly that I'm mainly eating green right now. Dropped 15 lb in the past 3 weeks getting ready for a dive trip. Unfortunately, I'm gaining no extra horsepower (except for that gas-propulsion system that drives my wife out of the room)
  17. I see you took the easy way for removal. I had a bitchofatime getting mine apart intact.
  18. darned if I didn't misplace my key to my blinker fluid resevoir. I upgraded to the locking type since it run with a high grade and it kept being stolen. Now I can't get into the thing and my lights are going crazy cause I'm low on fluid.

    LOUD KNOCKING SOUND

perhaps you spun a main bearing and one of your pistons is beating the heck out of your crankshaft. Been there, replaced the engine. definately check your oil level. Unless it's clean and thin, have a buddy start the truck while you lay underneath. If the noise is coming from your oil pan area, you're screwed. When mine went, there were all sorts of problems to fix (possible crankshaft damage, replace bearings, bearing cap(s) for those that spun, oil hile in connecting rod was full of metal that needed drilled out, and other things) and I must have missed something because it did it again soon after and got worse to the point where I pulled the entire engine and did a swap. Good luck
  20. I got a used engine that had been in a rear-ended pathy. The motor still ran and teh yard pulled it and loaded it in the back of a pickup for me (I knew I'd have a use for that old tire I had laying in the garage ) for a little over 700. Did the swap myself but I figure I could do a lot of cussin for the amount I saved not having a shop do the work.
  21. if you're just looking to replace the bolts and gaskets and leave the manifolds, I gould go to the stealership but make sure you get the good bolts (from the 300Z) and not the crap they put in the pathy. Do a search, I thought there was a post in here that had the part number of the good bolts.
  22. The battery I had put in had side ports as well as top posts. The one was leaking and the sulfuric acid did nasty things inside the connector on the link. I cut it all out, built a new one and replaced the battery. No more problems.
