  1. meh, factory hooks up front, class 3 hitch with pintel hook out back for recovery. i have 4 10k tow hooks sitting in a bag..... may put those on king.... but mini's equipment works just fine. and yes, there are a couple guys here who pretzled tow hooks while on recovery....
  2. a core charge means you either PAY a core charge if you don't send in your stock CL, or you send your stock CL (before receiving new product) and pay no core charge. i am paying hoohaa a core charge so i can keep king on the road while my new CL is being built. unless the CL red picked up will work for him. then that will be sent. -bounce- as Pl said, change your TRE's while yer in there. may as well have it all good to go
  3. bump..... any updates on how htings are going with runnerman?
  4. hmm. when i installed my egr tube, i screwed it in at the y pipe, then manhandled it to the upper mount. it took 3 of us to get it in there but it worked. other than that, i had no clearance issues you speak of.. and WHERE did you get a pathy fer $350? i was mooching over one fer $1k for the 5 spd.... it was a 2wd but in very nice condition. the trans and motor alone woulda been worth the $1k to me....
  5. the belts i use don't have arrows, but they do have solid lines....... check the entire belt to make sure they didn't sneak a arrow in there. if not... well then. either way will do.
  6. i broke my rear sway bar.. so i guess you could say it's "disconnected" sssh one of the guys here did buy quick disconnects. but for the life of me i can't rememebr who. and he never did post pics.
  7. NGK's. if you're using your stock t bars. re-index fer sure. give the front end the best chance you can.
  8. damn, thassa OWIE. at least you are ok and the rest of the pathy was spared from damage! $175 is definitely a good deal.
  9. here's mini me during her JGC coil install. as simon said, jack er up and put stands under the frame. i didn't take the tires off for my install. old coils popped right out. i think someone said somewhere for some reason to do the passenger side first...... i think it's got something to do with which side will sag more.... or something... bleh. it was an easy install and i got almost 3 3/4" out of it. *keeping the tires on i found helped to add weight to the ends of the axle to help it sag*

    T-belt ?'s

it's this little fawker. makes big mess @ 65mph when it blows. really. xheck for any wear. replace. $6 @ kragens or autozone. cut to fit. put bottom on first, then top. don't fergetcher clamps. voila.
  11. yeah. pics would help. :contract:

    timing

15 degrees is the factory timing setting for 90-95 VG30E's. (maybe other years, i don't know)....... maybe... *hunts down her FSM to check* now.. where's that damn page....... -study- *ok, STILL couldn't find it in either manual, but now i remember who said it was 15 degrees. the guy who smogged mini me last year... doesn't mean to say he's right, and she runs like a champ at 15 degrees with no pings at all* *steps aside* ok.... we'll say 12 degrees...... seems to be the consensus.

    T-belt ?'s

no need to take the plugs out, unless you plan on changing them, or only take plug #1 out if yer gunna use the "screwdriver for TDC" method. as far as the motor not turning 180 degrees perfectly smooth. i have 3 motors and none of them do. don't worry. make sure you have everything you need to do the job, take your time, and do your h2o pump and t'stat while yer in there. also, check the upper bypass hose ( itsy bitsy hose hiding behind the upper timing cover)... good luck! -bounce-
  14. you guys are mean. but i lmao too... i was greatly excited when i found king had intermittent wipers.... and i may steal the switch to put in mini me sssh
  15. good luck! before and after pics a must! -bounce-
  16. welp, mini is sneaking up on 150k now, and last summer i put 5 bottles of redline MT-90 in her. she is smooth as always, little fussy in 1st on a cold day, but going strong. when i drained her fluid to put the redline in there was little to no "fragments" on the plug. when i added the redline, i went in through the shifter hole no problems.

    timing

19 is rather high.... dang. factory is 15 degrees. before she was at 13/14.... and lugged. i have her at 15 now and she does good on gas and has good low end power, which is great for towing the boat. if i wanted to race. ida bought a fast car. at 19 degrees, how can your pathy even run CLOSE to good? ah well, different strokes fer different folks i guess. and i think a lot of it is your motor.... some motors run good at 16 degrees, some run good at 15..... play with it and see what suits you. *i found with mini. 15 she likes best. 16/17 was too much and she raced*
  18. sounds just like something i'd do. i drive at 55-60mph to save gas. there are 4 lanes and when there's only 2 i try not to hold up traffic...... UNLESS you tailgate me. it is the one and ONLY thing that pisses me off while driving. usually i just laugh at tailgaters, hey, i used to drive semi's... yer not gunna intimidate me...... however, once i've been the recipient of your headlights for more than 5 miles and you have had more than enuff chance to pass me.. i will downshift and slow down.... i never hit my brakes... but i do slow down. semi's annoy me the most. they suck off my draft and it CAUSES me to slow . it's like being stuck in a backward vaccum... like my pathy has enuff power to oevrcoem this. so as i end up getting sucked intot he vaccum, i slow down. not wasting my gas so you can tailgate me.... they usually get the idea and go around. i used to use the 2 back up lights on my jeep, but i found they can cause an accident. i don't want to be part of an "induced" accident that causes innocent people to get hurt. cali has got the WORST drivers of all time.... i call this "land of the tailgating tweaker".... i have seen some spastic tailgating. i stick to the slow lane and mind my own business. i have an adjustable rear view mirror so i don't have to LOOK at you.... but if oyu tailgate me with the knowledge oyu are blinding me in my side mirrors.... jackass..... it's ON.

    Dust curtains

and if yours are missing all together, i know a really great guy who may be willing to send oyu the patterns he made for all 4 wheel wells. i have the patterns, but haven't made mine yet. and that great guy is Mr Pickles
  24. well.. when you drain the trans fluid, look for metal or other unwanted particles in the fluid. also, is it just the noise, or is it hard to shift... pops out of gear etc. all things to consider when it comes to the trans. hows the clutch feel? soft? hard? does it get stinky after neing on the freeway or after hill climbs? is the pathy losing power when you drive her harder? like uphill or passing?
  25. congrats. :cool2: and yer welcome. just here to help where i can. and in answer tot he brake controller, yeah, they're not technical, only wires that leave the ass end of yer pathy are the black ground wire and red wire with the fuse breaker in it for the battery.
