Brief update with a picture later today. Gauge is installed but with much cursing. I had noticed that Alkorahil's gauge was a bit lower on the panel than mine. There is a reason for this, there is insufficient clearance where I cut the hole, .25" higher. I had to pull the same dash peice out of the parts truck, clean it up and cut another hole as no amount of modifying the old one would have done the trick and still looked ok. I pulled power for the light directly off of the dimmer switch but when I tested everything, it is completely backwards from the dash illumination; it is bright when everything else is dark and visa versa. How the hell did I do that?? I just pulled the leads and will fix that when I'm on Christmas vacation. I'm tired of wrenching on the truck after work until it gets dark and cold. I need a few weeks break at least before I get to the front hubs and start working on the locker, snorkel and other gauges... B

Yeah, I think an update would be cool. I live within 100 miles of him and would be interested in checking it out... B

Oh, those are wierd mounts. Please use a good penetrating solvent, not wd-40. When I touched up my ARB bumper, I degreased with simple green, gave it a light shot of some old primer (8 years old) I had laying around and then finished it with Rustoleum semi gloss (black) and it looks very good. I didn't put any clear coat on it so i don't know how long it will last, but I already told myself I am going to redo the whole bumper in spring... B

LOL Well, you have procrastinated until you have reason to excuse working on it; the cold... Ok, do 3 things... Read the entire AT section in the FSM so you understand it. Perform the AT diagnostics as outlined. Fix it. If for some reason that isn't it, look at the entire ignition system, but cap and rotor first. Make sure your fuel filter isn't clogged. Try some injector cleaner. Do a compression test. Get back to me on this... B

I drove the first pathy for 3 years without a speedo, never an issue. I do drive fairly mellow though, that helps of course. B

That was one hell of a deal!! Those vertical top mounts look odd though, I'm not sure what they would bolt to, but I like I said, I've not looked at the early year front ends nor a bull guard. B

I have a connector (can't remember how many pin) with install instructions in the garage somewhere. If I can find it tonight, I post what I have so you have some ideas... B

I went with Cragar Soft 8 black steel wheels (15x8", 4" back spacing) from Summit, on sale for $40 each, but I'm running 31x10.5" tires. Each tire will specify the rim width range they recommend so I suggest you use that as your guide, but most will be in the same range. Good point, but I'm not at the point of paying attention to such trivial details yet, if ever... I believe MY1PATH has the speedo/speed sensor tooth count info... B

I sort of remember some one else messing with this and I think they needed the bumper and brackets as well. I have no idea if the lights are the same, I have never compared the front ends side by side. I'm waiting for someone who has owned/wrenched on both to confirm. The 95 bumper is more solid than the 87-92?!? The one I just took off of my 95 is farking tinfoil!! I can lift the bumper with lights and brackets with 1 finger!! B

Thanks for posting that, but the trouble is that there is even more mixing and matching than that. For example, both my 95XEs have the XE convenience package, AND fog lights, external tire carriers and LSD rear ends, the first one also had 31x10.5" tires and an accurate speedo... B

Yup. 60x1.07=64.2 My rule of thumb to avoid tickets is not more than 5 over the posted speed limit, so now I just don't drive any faster than the registered speed and I know I'm + but still in the 'safe' zone. Glad you like them. New tires are a treat... B

Oops, I knew about the bumper difference, but didn't realise that the bull bar also tied into that spot. Sorry about the mislead... B

Make sure you get the back spacing right if you go with new rims, the stock 6 to 7" wide rims won't hold 12.5" wide tires well. B

Try modifying the hangers to pull it away from the contact point first. B
