I've had them before...I think they are excellent bulbs. I was too broke to buy another set when they finally burned out after almost 2 years, so I bought a set of "standard" halogen light bulbs, and the difference is night and day. With the Silverstars, the light projection was not necessarily improved any, but it was a much more even coverage. There are dark spots with the bulbs I have now (cheapie bulbs). When these burn out, or I get tired of not being able to see, I'm going to get another set no doubt.

Either that, or the switch that tells the light to turn on is shorted out...could have lost a wire somewhere. Electrical problems are a PITA to track down.

It works, but you have to put in the year and model of your vehicle.

What will they think of next? Clip on spinners?

For future reference, you do not want to use 4wd in any circumstances unless it is a "low-traction situation." Low-Traction = Impassable in 2WD without copious tire spinning. (A little slip off a red-light in the rain is normal.)

No Pezzy, you are exactly correct. With the flanges, or even manual locking hubs, there should be no need to back up to disengage 4WD. HOWEVER, the drivetrain has to be slacked in order for 4WD to disengage. I do this by shifting the transmission into neutral and letting the truck roll back or forwards a few feet, the light usually always turns off. Another way to do this is if you're already in motion, you can completely let off the throttle and allow the truck to coast for a while, this works for me as well.

I've done that. There are no virii, worms or malware. I checked in the network connections and there is a Netscape connection. It seems to only try to connect when attempting to download an image from Photobucket. :confused: I deleted the connection, and we'll see what happens.

This only happens when I'm navigating this site, so I'm thinking its somehow related to this site. Every now and then, a "window" (I say that in quotes because a window does not actually appear) appears in the taskbar that says "Connecting Netscape". It will not allow any further progress in this site until it is done attempting to connect and failed. It is attemping a dial-up connection to a Netscape client, and since I am not connected through a phone line, it is failing. This has only started happening in the last couple days. Has anyone else noticed this happening? How do I get rid of it? 88, what did you do? lol.

I've managed, and believe me, if I knew how I made it through, I'd tell you, but I've managed to get my pathy, with an open element filter, no less, through water up to 3" below the side windows. Scared the living crap out of me, and I was praying to the Pathy Gods that they would let me through the water unscathed...and they did. But, I also vowed to never try that again until I got a snorkel. And I'll be damned if I'm not going to get one and go for that water again! -thnkboutit-

Kieth fabricated his own 4" lift for it. He fabricated custom front and rear bumpers and a rear swing away tire carrier. The snorkel was made from a thin walled PE pipe. Heated and angled to fit (sort of). I never said his snorkel was pretty, in fact, I think it looks awful, but it works, exceptionally well. There is no denying that fact. Which would you rather have...a truck with a goofy snorkel that survives the flood, or a "pretty" truck with a "hydrolocked"* motor? I'd rather have my truck run. I'm missing one of my interior panels because it got a big hole punched in it from a piece of pipe I was carrying in the back when I had to make an emergency maneuver on the road. Nobody complains, nobody even asks. I've got holes in my fenders from the flares, nobody cares, nobody asks, nobody complains. Nobody says that my truck is a POS because it's not perfect. In fact, everyone who I've ever encountered has said it's: "Badass, really nice, beasty, kickass, or amazing." Sure, it won't win NOPI, but what the hell do I care? I USE my truck. If you wanna put armor all and tire shine on your "off-road" rig, go right ahead, the rest of us will just laugh at you all the way down the trails.

Currently, neither Safari nor TJM produces a snorkel specifically for the R50s. However, I am in the process of testing one that appears like it would work very well. I will provide details later. And V6...why must you beat the horse?...he's long been dead!

The MIL will illuminate for almost any problem with the vehicle monitored by the ECU, not just emissions systems. Mine came on when my coolant temp got too hot.

If you are dead set on getting the lift, then I'd hold off until after you lift to get tires. With the right backspacing on the wheels (you'll need to buy new ones), you can fit 32" tires without a problem. Shocks and struts should be done at the time of the lift, and you can get a whole package deal from AC with the lift coils, shocks, struts, and the CAMBER ADJUSTMENT BOLTS (REQUIRED FOR ALIGNMENT). Also the Manual hubs are not a MUST have item...but they are a SHOULD have item. You don't NEED them, but they will save you the headache of torn CV boots down the road. I would do the lift, shocks, struts, and manual hubs all at the same time. Then get tires. However, if you're not dead set on the lift, you can just get tires now, and hold off on the lift for a while. For pricing, you can look everything up online. I've got the JWT pop-charger on mine, and it's great...there is a noticible power increase and it sounds awesome. If you have the money for it, you can't go wrong.
