  1. What up fellas, Haven't posted in a while, but I finally saved up enough money to get my lift kit installed (and actually purchase it for that matter). I am seriously considering buying the following Lift kit from AC -Lift comprised of 4 coils which will give your unibody Pathfinder or Qx4 2" of lift when installed. Coils are powder coated black and can be installed by owner. Allow the use of 31" tires. Includes Rancho front struts and Rancho RS5000 Shocks for the rear. As you guys noticed it does not come with the strut tower mounts (they have other lift kits that do, but NONE that come with both Rancho struts and shocks) Are strut tower mounts an absolute necessity? And does anybody have any personal experience running Rancho struts and Shocks? Are there any other particular struts (or shocks for that matter) that you guys recommend as oppose to the Rancho's that I'm looking to buy? Anything else that I MUST BUY that the kits do not come with and that I should purchase? And now air-filters Weapon-R or a JWT Pop Charger, which one is my best bet performance wise and money wise? and where can I find them? Alright thats it, pardon the long question, and thanks in advance for the input guys. The site rocks as I have learned a lot just from reading old post, and other peoples questions/answers.
  2. Just got my new tires!!! 31' BFG's AT/KO they're awesome.... Waiting for my warn hubs to come in so i can install those.... and then i'll just save money.. By Jan I should get my lift... this is what i have in mind: OME coils HD in the front Med in the back.. I'm still undecisive about Rancho or KYB GR2 struts, which ones do you guys recommend? Which one gives you more "bang" for your buck? As for the shocks i think i'm sticking to Rancho either RS5000 or RS9000X which ever you guys think is best... I've also read about a camper alignement is this necessary and what is its purpose? and how much does it run? and finally Nissan strut mounts, how much and were can i find them? am i missing anything else.. if so let me know... alright catch you guys later.. and thanks in advance for the all input..
  3. So I guess i'll stick to the 31's until I get the lift ... cool thanks...
  4. Hey guys its me again.. haven't posted in a while... Anyway, I've been saving up money for lift and tires, but right now I can only afford to do one thing... I was thinking of going with the tires.. But I want to fit some BFG's AT ko.. I was wondering what is the biggest I can go... right now I think I have some old 31's... When i went shopping for tires.. they told that's the biggest it would take... but it looks like there is still enough space (eventhough its stock and not lifted) I have the 98 4x4 Pathy SE i believe the stock rims are 15', you guys know of anybody running on 32' BFG' AT ko? can I try it, will they not fit? Where is the problem lie? I mean there seems to be more than enough space from ground up to the fender ( I hope that's the correct term ) that's over the tires.. Anyway give me some feed back.. Thanks guys greatly appreciate.. Ohh and great post on the suspension lifts poll, Great info.. If i do go with the lift. I'm thinking of doing the OME HD in the front Med in the back... Rancho Struts and Rancho shocks? am i missing anything to complete the package other than warn hubs which yes i'm planning on getting... Let me know. alright i'm outs for now.
  5. WoW great info XPLORx4, Vengeful, & Herm. Thank all of you for replying to my questions, I really appreciate all your suggestions. I guess for now since i dont have an unlimited cash flow, i'll settle for tires, and wait on the lift. But when if I do get the lift, i'll definetly take everything that was said into consideration, but i'm leaning more towards the 1" lift because at the moment i'll be driving alot and "are unwilling to accept any undesirable side-effects and want to preserve on-road handling" as was said by XPLORx4... As for tires i'll look for some Mickey T's if not i'll settle for some BFG's AT's. Well thanks again, for answering my questions, i'll keep updating my mods every now and then, or i'll keep asking questions, i'm sure i'll come up with some more. Laters.
  6. Hey guys Just bougth myself a 98 Pathfinder SE 4wd. Anyway just have a few questions, i'm going to start modifying my Pathfinder so it could be ready for off-roading, and I'm taking XPLORx4 advice and I'm starting off with the tires ... but here is my question, I've heard of you guys talk about brands like BFG's AT, which I'm assuming are BF Goodrich All Terrain, and MT's must be Mud-Terrain right? I've also heard of other brands mentioned like Bridgestone Dueler AT's, but one brand that I've haven't heard on these replies when pertaining to tires are Mickey Thopmsons, is there a particular reason why? Also Vengeful said that "Stock, you can fit 31x10.50" tires on your factory rims" are those the biggest, and how much will they run (if possible can you guys put price for each brand)? Finally step two in my mod list will be the lift, now here is something I need to get clarify, you guys are saying that if one gets a 2" lift, one MUST get manual locking hubs is that right? Well, what if I get a 1 "lift, or is that so insignificant were its unnoticeable in the way it looks and rides to the point were i should just get a 2" lift. If that's the case how much will the 2" lift, with manual locking hubs, and shocks and struts run me? Do I have to do that in parts too, like getting the lift first, then the hubs, then the shocks and struts, and in which order? And finally brands, do they matter, or is anybrand as good as the rest.. If so, can you please specify which ones perform or last longer for the item listed above (tires, lift kit, shocks, struts, manual looking hubs) and ohh yeah air filter is it recommended yes or no? and again which type is best? Look forward to reading your Opinions, laters.
  7. Hey guys, just thought I introduce myself since I'll probably be bugging you with lots of questions.. My name is Fernie, and I'm from Cali, Southern Cal to be exact. Just bought myself a 98 Pathfinder SE 4wd, blue exterior a few scratches and dents but nothing major, nice tan interior. I love it already, it runs nice, has 95,000 miles i know i know sounds like a lot for a 98, but it was taken care off pretty good by the previous owner, AND I I only paid 7G's for it, i think i got a bargain since its in good condition and all.. Ohh yeah its pretty much stock, since they only used it for everyday driving (home to work, and work to home) but I'll begin to modify it in parts, since I plan to not only use it as my everyday vehicle, but I'll like to take it off-roading in the weekends, when I'm not busy with school and all... Well, just writing to say whats up.. lates. Ohh yeah I've posted some questions that maybe some of you could answer, the post is in the 96-2004 Pathfinders forum, under BigBikeMikes "So you want to lift your 96-Up Pathy" Topic Title, and its the first one on the second page... Give it a read and let me know what think.. lates.. :cool2:
