Yes, check the Power Socket relay in the relay box under your hood. That's most likely the culprit.

Apparently, it's only the front doors that are easy to break into. My Driver's side, rear door no longer works, and there is evidence that somebody attempted to break into the truck using that door. Tried, and failed miserably, and in process, FUBAR'd the locking mechanism and door release linkages. I can't even get the frickin-frackin door panel off to fix it, because I can't get the frickin-frackin door open!

Yes, BlackPanther is still around. He does not check his PMs very often, so I'll PM you with an email address to get ahold of him faster. He is still making and selling skidplates for Nissan Pathfinders of all years, as well as 00-04 Xterras, 00-04 Frontiers and 05+ Frontiers and Xterras. He was in the process of updating the website when he came across some rather trying personal issues, and didn't have the time to devote to keeping his website online. However, he assures me that the situation will be resolved within the next couple of months, and the website will be back online shortly thereafter. I would rather wait 6 months for a BlackPanther skidplate, than buy an AC skidplate and dent my oil pan...again.

I've got 32x11.50s. They would hit the fenders, but I rolled the lips so they just clear. They have bitten the rear bumper wings and ripped the corners off though.

The AC skidplates don't have any reinforcing bends in them at all. They're also made out of a thinner gauge metal than the BlackPanther skids. Even with the same thickness metal, the BP skids are a better design, and are stronger, as they've got strengthening bends in them. The BP skids may be a bit more expensive than the AC ones, but I've put the BP ones through a lot more abuse than the AC ones, and the BP ones are still on my truck. The AC ones are stuffed in a corner in the back of the garage as they were too warped and bent to put back on the truck. I even managed to punch a hole in one. I hit the same rock (about a year later) with my BP skids, and it scratched it.

Correction on Fuelers Post.... The stock backspacing is NOT 3.75. The backspacing is actually approximately 4.50". If you are running stock backspacing wheels, they are about 4.5".

Theoretically, as long as you maintain it properly, and don't abuse it (KEY), then they should last just as long as any other motor out there. It's when you neglect, or install bad parts, or abuse it, that damage occurs.

Some more information would be helpful, but yea, I'd say it's a short. Start by probing the corner light circuit...
