  1. Just for the record my solar charger the cigarette lighter type. So its good for VG30E's
  2. ya i could get rid of it. i gotta figure out how to remove it and its components. and take some pics. ive had strep throat so i havent been outside much. ill try to get at it tomorrow.
  3. I had one of these little solar chargers in my pathy window all last winter, I wasnt sure about them, but in the spring the engine turned over easily and started. safe to say i was quite surprised the battery was alive. I just kept clearing of my window so the sun could get to it.
  4. I realize they are not right for everyone. Personally, I live in a remote area. i look at the terrain around here and it could provide very useful. A ten minute trail ride from my house and you can find deep mud, deep snow, sand, rocks (giant smooth rock faces you can drive on) , muskeg, black earth, gray clay mud. Plus think of the money i can make pulling out people with their lifted 2500 chevys and dodges.
  5. Yes, it says Nissan on it.. ill have to snap a pic when i not feelin under the weather
  6. Depending on price, i would love a set. As for the weight, the series 88 are about 350lbs a corner. it shouldn't make a difference tho, since you can buy the series 88s, they just a cost a lot.
  7. Yesterday i wrote to a company ( for legal reasons will remain nameless) about expanding their product line. This company just so happens to make track kits for 4x4 vehicles. I mentioned how the smallest kit is rated up to 8,800lbs (gross weight)is overkill for a lot of ppl and doesn't warrant spending the 20,000 when your 4x4 weighs less than 4,000lbs. So today i got a reply from an employee, lets call him Mat*. Anyway, he informed me that his company has designed a track kit for light weight vehicles. He mentioned they are in the final stages of testing, and should be in production by May 1st.
  8. ur welcome. It just so happened that i was browsing their website the same day. if you do get the kit, I could use the shackles for my '93 D21
  9. "I hear its cheap if you get a 5 spd rig to swap from, just time consuming... " what would you say is the difficulty rating? if one had a donor 5 spd.
  10. both my old pathy and my new D21 are from '93...
  11. i have one that is in the black binder with the nissan logo indented on it.with all that service info and stuff. when i got my new d21 it came with a Hayne's manual... SCORE!
  12. they also carry the Calmini UCA kit...
  13. here you they are in the hardbody section under suspension parts... http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/superlift-upper-control-arms-nissan-hardbody-1986-1997-p-3868.html
  14. under the dash, there should be a rubber lining with sponge on the back it covers where the floor meets the firewall. when i pulled mine up the join was separating. i also had rust holes in the top right corner. drivers side was the same. my "new" D21 has some holes but not as bad. dang salt!
  15. ya chains are terrible, i know 2 ppl that had their windows smashed out because of them breaking. i guess if thats all you had you could wrap some stuff around it like a winch wire, might keep it down if it breaks. the worst is the hurky jerky as i call it. getting a bunch of slack and taking a run at it. Theres a video on youtube of a truck trying to pull another truck with brute force and his hitch ripped off and put a hole in the stuck truck's tailgate.
  16. Your floor probably has holes in it. Mine had some big ones, drivers side was worse. careful of the computer is under the passenger seat.
  17. there could be several holes in the exhaust, also the exhaust travels right under the driver's feet. the floor on my old pathy had rusted out and had big holes right above the exhaust. I had to through the carpet and insulation out because it was soaking wet gross. all the mud and puddles didnt help.
  18. If you want to do it on a budget you could get coil spacers.
  19. They dont do emmission test here, probably cuz its a small town not a city. My truck isnt even insured. But there is a trail directly across the street from my house, so i dont have to drive it on public roads.
  20. Its all good, Just gotta avoid the ones that rut up easy. I dont go on groomed trails, plus when there is lots of snow trucks tend to get stuck easily. I find the trails get ripped up by dirt bikes. over the years the trail becomes like a woops section. There is only 3-4 inches of snow in marathon so i gotta get out for a little ride. and tekazgtr1984, club or not, any one is welcome to come wheel. somebody has to pull me out when i get stuck
  21. I actually had contact with an official with the MNR, he was happy to answer any of my questions and seemed generally interested. He was very nice to tell me to contact him any time in the future. He informed me that i could use any trails on crown land as long as it was not being actively used by a company. Access roads and whatnot. He also told me that the OFSC Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs do not own the trails on crown land, and cannot prohibit the use by others. (which they claimed they could) The mayor of Marathon suggested i start an off-road club, that way i can speak on behalf of an 'organization' rather than just myself. The MNR employee and Mayor Rick Dumas were very receptive and helpful. The club idea was postponed when i fried my '93 pathy's ECU :S I now have a '93 Hard body pickup, so ill have to get back at it.
  22. This is a very good option. I didnt have this switch on my pathy. I stalled in a really bad spot half way up a rock-face, i left it in gear and used the starter to pull me up the hill. hehehe I dont recommend it, but it worked well. Now i want an electric 4x4
  23. That is a good question. I live in the middle of nowhere, and there are no pathys in a JY near here. Also the Frame of the pathy was like Swiss cheese, damn salt. The previous owner, ran it into the ground. It became a money pit, so the ECU was the straw that broke the camel's back. p.s. we had a few inches of snow here last week. I took out the D21, did some 2 & 4 wheel drifting in the old bush roads. Hit a couple small mud holes. It passed the test no problem.
