  1. Yep. Power OFF = shifting at lower RPMs = less power = "good" fuel economy Power ON = shifting at higher RPMs = more power = drunk pathy -alcohol-
  2. My tires aren't 31", they're 255/75R15, so I guess adding about 1/2 an inch if they were 31". So for comparisions I'll post my measurements with +1/2" as if my tires were 31". I've just put some Ford Maverick (not the V8) front coils in the rear. Now it is 34" from the ground. With stock coils, they were at 32" from the ground (I guess the rear coils are not so sagged). I was thinking I could use a Maverick V8 coil (don't know if it will fit) but based on your informations of acheved lift maybe 34" is good enough. The front were at 29" when I bought the Pathfinder, then about 6 months ago I cranked the t-bars so it rised to 30.5". Yesterday after replacing the rear stock coils I cranked a bit more, so now the front stays at 31". It is a little "nose down" I'll try to reindex the torsion bars to achieve more lift, I expect at least 1"...
  3. BTW, it cost me less than US$ 50, one side.
  4. Just repeating the information I've posted on a 90-95 topic. It is possible to download the Owners Manual from Pathfinders 1996 to 2005, you can follow the link http://www.Nissan-techinfo.com/Nissan/dept...sp?dept%5Fid=36. They are about 2 Mb for each year. The Service Manual requires more work, the zipped file is not available, or I wasn't able to find it. You can copy them from the link http://www.Nissan-techinfo.com/Nissan/refg...hfinder/fwd.pdf. Available service manuals are from 1994 to 2005, so to get other year than 1994 just change the year in the link. As the Service Manuals are composed from many PDFs, you'll need to save one by one. So, for each index item after "FOREWORD", click it, wait for the PDF to load, save it and go back to the previous one (fwd.pdf). For each index item after "FOREWORD" there's an associated PDF file. They sum about 40 Mb for each year.

  6. Is the Nissan Repair Manual the same as the Nissan Service Manual? If not, what's the difference?
  7. That's what I'm gonna do, I've already cranked the torsion bars a little bit (1"1/2), but tomorrow I'll reindex them to gain more lift instead of cranking too much. Also me and a guy of a susp shop will search for some coils that could give the same amount of lift you achieve with JGC coils, since these coils aren't so easy to find around here as in USA. Last week I've found a pair of them in a junkyard, but they asked about US$ 300 for the pair (new ones range from US$ 400 to 600)... Importing from AC or Calmini will cost me US$ 250-300, so if I do not find a compatible coil for the lift I'll buy Calmini. My rear coils aren't sagged, but I wanna lift the truck to put bigger tires.
  8. Do I need to replace the stock adjustable shocks with longer ones if I susp lift it? Or can I wait to do it? What should be the issues of waiting?
  9. I got the passenger side exhaust manifold studs replaced on Thursday. Left the car at the mechanics at 9:30 AM, got it running home again at 7:00 PM. They took 4 hours to replace it. Just one of them was broken, the "upper-rear-most" (sorry ). just waiting for a guy to hold it with a wrench to break. But it wasn't broken too much inside, so it was easy to weld a nut and take it off. Next week I'll do the driver's side, but I guess the studs are better, just difficult to get to them.
  10. How long did you wait for the Calmini kit to arrive?

    rear sway bar

Dunno. They say "Rear Quick Disconnects". First when I bought may Pathy I thought they were to the front, 'cause I didn't know Pathys have a rear sway bar. I think we put the two in the rear, and disconnect one of them, which one we prefer... It would be good if we could use one for the front and one for the rear!

    rear sway bar

That sucks. I was considering to buy the rear quick disconectors from AC and thought it would work well with minor modifications, like they say. How could we pay $77.95 for that stuff and it does not work? Is there someone else around here that have the disconnectors installed and working?
  13. Yeah, I guess so. They also say: "In most cases, we cover the numbers as we know them. However, in other cases we state the best possible information available to us. Because we don't own every pickup or SUV ever made, and don't have the resources to test-fit every possible tire size,we rely heavily on suspension manufacturers and reader-generated data for the information you see here......... If you find a situation listed below that doesn't seem to jive with your own experience, write or send us an e-mail; we'll look into it and make changes accordingly. Email comments to fourwheelereditor@primedia.com." You Pathfinder gurus could send them more information!
  14. Yeah, MTRs are pricey! :sniff:
  15. These days I was in a bookshop and I saw a magazine "Four Wheeler" (april 2005) and in a special section named "What Hits, What Fits" they list a lot of trucks and what tire size is stock and higher sizes that can fit and what to do to fit them. I find it interesting so I bought it. They listed pre-'96 and '96-'04 Pathfinders. Pre-'96: 31x10.5 - stock vehicle 32x11.5 - minor trimming 33x12.5 - minor trimming plus 4" susp lift '96-'04: 31x10.5 - stock vehicle That's interesting. We could update them with more information.
  16. I've seen many guys around here with Goodyear Wrangler MTRs in theur cars, mine has Wrangler ATS, they would be the MTRs if I had choosen correctly an year ago, but I was afraid they would be too noisy. It seems to me that the Wrangler MTRs are better than BFGs AT. More muddy.
  17. That's one reason I'm considering buying lift coils from AC or Calmini. Here it is being very difficult to find a JGC coil in a junkyard, and probably they will ask much $$$$ for them, and how could I be sure they were from a V8 if they're shiiping that to me? So it will be better to import and pay the darn import taxes.

    SAS Pathy

    What is an EB?
  19. I agree. I have my doubts if any rebuild like this would last 10% of the original shocks.
  20. I've just got the revised sutds from the dealer today. I'm gonna be replacing the old studs next week. So now I have the exhaust manifold gaskets, and the revised studs. Do you guys think there's anything else that should be good to buy before starting?
  21. Brazilian import taxes = 60% Shipping = $50, $100, or more? That would make, for example, the Safari snorkel price rise from US$285 to 520. Ugly... So I have to double check all possibilities before discarding...
