this is a great topic v6. it's something i have been thinking about for a while.. the prefference here seems to be to lock the rear but in the lands down under seems that everybody locks the front.. hmmm?? i wonder why.. so there is my hint for you.. there are a number of members here that are also members on AU/NZ pathfinder/wheeling boards.. i am sure they must have discussed this at some length.. i just haven't search yet because this is possibly next year's project or sometime in the future and is not on the slate.right now.. gotta fix the damge from this weekend forst.. purely goinig by physics the rear makes a little bit more sence but, personally, i am leaning towards the front locker... the main thing is that you can totaly dis-engage the darn thing when highway driving (2wd) which to me is an advantage.. I am refering to full time lockers (way cheaper then others) + i don't have an open diff in the back and finding one is a bit of a task..
-
you could always link it like this http://users.adelphia.net/~jkbridges/WeldedFrontDiff.jpg or like this the threads load up way fater that way especially for some one who is on dial up..

that's right Canada... i am heading up there in 10 days for a family reunion of sorts.. So, what' should I not miss? The few first days I'm gonna be in the L. Huron area and then Hamilton the weekend of 13-14th... not sure if i am gonna drive my pathy up there but just in case tell me about some good camping/wheeling.. please. anything of interest would also be appreciated. thanks
-
what do you mean? you put each option on each line and whala! you got choices..
-
 try and look around..
-
good advice there.. my ratchets are 1ft long and that's what i do for everything.. the only place i am gonna use a torque wrench is on engines.. i used to do my lug nuts that way too, the torque wrench is way longer then a regular ratchet..
-
what the heck do you mean by that anyway? pathfinder fronts are just beautiful man!
-
Sweet, I know isht!!!! :cool2: good job, good job..
-
it's an 87 lx.. 4 banger w/ about 250k mi.. beater

Better do it before the weather turns !! Don't be such a lazy bastage !! Park the truck and get to it !! Besides, you have that beautiful Benz to drive in the meanwhile... B kool, i'll get one of those for the job then too.. the list is freaking getting long and e$$pen$ive.. lol was gonna check the clutch but i forgot before i fired it up.. manana.. hehehe i still wonder if the AC has to be taken apart (opened) during t-belt.. haven't search yet but if anybody knows let me know please.. and lol.. thanks for the praises on das boot.. lol but it needs major work (front end) can you say e$$pen$ive? ($90/bilstein).. and i am working on the mustang right now.. gotta get it running gas prices are killing me... the benz is next in line then the pathy..
-
ahhh finally. exactly what i was looking for.. thanks.. still hoping it's a problem that can be overcome.. we'll see
-
you can get this fan clutch by itself somewhere? good idea btw., thanks. i am gonna do the t-belt and stuff in the fall sometime.. probably before the weather turns..
-
hey, don't forget the antifreeze.. it's a fluid.
-
it's really hard to find GL w/o lsd additive these days.. i use the ones that are available.. make sure you use GL-4 ONLY!!! in your manual trans. also you need 1 more qt/L in there.. according to updated info. search the forums .. i think there is a link to some online OMs here somewhere.. if not google them.. i am pretty sure they are online..

ok, hosed down the condenser/rad. had a little bit mud packed in the bumper. had to straignten a few "fins" on the cndsr though.. that's what you get for bushwhacking.. lol.. i hope i don't have a leak... this might have helped a bit but if i sit at lights, at the second one it will start blowing warmer air.. now gotta find the pitcock on the rad and drain that sucker.. (green stuff looked ok but smelled horrid - prob need new hoses soon too) any progress andreus?
-
95 are in the bumper.. i think the ones under the bumper were mainly in the 80s and a fiew early 90s..
-
not necessarily.. depends on which year.. if you have a roof rack and the spoiler then it's probably not XE.. but that varies too
-
now that's what i call mud!
