  1. hey don't be lumping me in with them.. i think the front lockers are more widely evelable down under then US thus nobody has one...
  2. I saw that also, and like the idea... My truck is for general purpose hauling/driving, winter/nasty weather transportation and camping/wheeling fun. I have no need for welding things up. LSD on both ends sounds like a nice compromise !! B i think it's prob way cheaper to just throw in a locker there... :secret:
  3. we are in the midwest and peeps are a bit nicer here..
  4. the top part anyway.. thanks for posting that up grim.
  5. You saw it lol.. but it's been a while brother... we should ride again.. you'll like redbird me thinks.
  6. well, my love with the pathy started back in 1990 when my x bought the '89. we traveled all over in it and it was super reliable (- bad tranny thing) the oil in it looked like honey at changes until about 110 or so (i always had a hard time telling if i had oil in it ) it still ran great at 175k when it saved my life in a head on with a big rig... do i need any other reasons? took a break from 4x4 for about 4 years and when it was time to rekindle that spirit i just wanted another wd21 with 4 doors and 5 on the floor. so that's what i got.. this puppy was semi abused before she came into my domain but now she is pretty happy albeit with a few bruises.. the funny thing is that i grew up on yotas fj40 and fj55 and was really trying to persuade my x to get a yota.. i guess she was good for something..
  7. btw.. it's the same guy... and thus same flares
  8. you got a pic of that grim?
  9. well, i pm-d the guy.. we'll see if that gets his attention.
  10. oh, that's awesome.. thanks for sharing.
  11. cool. mine is ripped just about the point of the kink in photo 1
  12. .. i was wondering how long it would take for someone to say that... hahahahaha
  13. i'll try to take it off in the next couple of day and look it over a bit better... thanks it was mud hole from hell.. actually there were a few of those there.. (RedBird SRA (IN)) the place is pretty new and the trails are tight and pretty tough... the green ones are not so green though.. old mine land, spoil piles everywhere, trees and quite a bit of mud.. i did have fun though but i hate to damage the truck that much... almost tore off the fender flares too... and some dents
  14. lol.. well, mine is chopped (and i mean rough) by the rear shock just over the axle.. not really comfy with it that close to the gas tank... 88, no problems in deeper water crossings?
  15. hey that might work.. i was thinking of using the hitch assembly as my support and maybe having some protrusions welded to it.. keep'em coming..
  16. no digi camera it's kind of like a dent in the body of the shock.. (procomp 5000 or something)
  17. is there anyway to protect the body behind the rear wheel... almost tore the whole thing off while wheeling this weekend and would like to figure out a way to make some kind of slider type deal to protest the rear overhang.. is it even possible?
  18. if you read one of my other thread you'll know that i 180ed my tail pipe. it damaged my shock a bit. i was stuck in a really bad mud hole and had to rock it back and forth and unfortunately the pipe couldn't take it.. wondering what you guys do to your exhaust systems because the way it is from the factory, it will never last. i am bound to do the same manouver again and again.. the tail pipe seems to stick out way too much and hang too low.. don't want to tear up a new one once i get it fixed..
  19. hey, this weekend while doing some wheeling i ended up mashing one of the rear shocks a bit.. seems to work but once in a while the truck seems to come down hard.. do i need to replace it? i have no clue how they are made so that's why i am asking.. it's only the body that got crashed a bit by the tail pipe when i pretzeled it.. the shaft seems to be ok.
  20. you be the judge well, couldn't find the flare discussion though..
  21. I am in Indy, IN but will be coming either through port huron or detroit.. i think the folks mentioned port huron though.. i am really asking for stuff to do by myself.. i'll have enough of folks quick enough, i am sure..
  22. my 94 calls for the t-belt to be changed at 110k mi
  23. well, i'll be coming from MI. not sure which entry point yet but there are only 3 but i am not going to Sault Ste. Marie pn the way there anyway.. probably skip the falls this time.. have been there before and would like to go by there again but i am gonna hold off on that one till my next NE coast trip.. might have to go check out Toronto.. looks like it would be a very nice drive by the lake..
  24. for the most part yes... any non X's were either trail leaders, main sponsors or members of the founding club. Bah! Nissans are nissans! yeah. that's a b!tch... if it's an X only event then only Xs should be there but there were exceptions... and my club went but i couldn't oh, nice pictures pezzy! thanks. looked like a lot of fun..
