  3. O2 Sensors are super easy - 15 minute job. Im surprised this is your first. At 106K Ive replaced 3. Just drop it down the same line as your old one & zip tie the new line to the old one & cut off the old sensor & plug.
  4. Okay, that’s totally different than I was thinking. If you go to my RainGoat Instagram & look at the 2nd & 3rd postings you’ll see Alex’s truck with the conduit clamps holding it on. He used furs coat to make them black. TownDawgR50 also used the galvanized conduit clamps for his rack but it was off on that trip.
  5. I’m just about to mount a full length Rola V-Tech rack which has a 1” bottom tube as wide as the OEM rails. Several others have had good success with 1” conduit clamps which is what I am going to try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Thanks. Hmmm, I’ve got the TX14 transmission so the open shifter area won’t work well. I guess I can just cut a 3 switch slot there. I’ve always had a grippy mat there but your use is much more useful. Alternatively, I might look at the space under there & see what I could do with that. As an aside, I’ve seen GSpeed151 fit a 3 switch panel into the ashtray area which worked pretty well.
  7. It looks to me like you have an OEM spot for switches forward from your shifter. That would be super handy for all the things you’ve done with it: voltmeter, USB outlets, switches. Can you take a picture of your center console surround around the gear shift? Is that the stock ‘97 Q trim? Thanks!
  8. Completely agree. Possibly because we’re a bit niche to be running these old Pathfinders. It’s really been a great experience from info to comraderie, to assistance & support. I love that Hans/Michael/OHPilot/Black_n_tanWD21s went hunting for parts for me in AZ & CA, ferrariowner123 has given me extra parts & assistance in finding others, hawairish drove up & met me at ExpoWest, TownDawgR50 is someone I now consider a good friend & citron, Micah, Alex & Cam all came up to do a day trip together. And that’s all in addition to all the assistance from others across the country. Truly a fellowship of the Pathfinder!
  9. Mine have finally started to go. Only kind of hold up the window. Pretty good run of 16 years-should be cheap & easy to replace. They never raised the window up automatically, even when the truck was new.
  10. When RRO finally updated to kick outs & had a shipping sale I gave in & ordered a set. They are sitting in their box in my garage right now. I’ve had a deep dive into the Toyota 4Runner world while I outfit my Mom’s new truck & it is unbelievable the variety you can get for that truck (seriously like 20 manufacturers). RROs prices are unfortunately not out of line with what Toyota fabricators are charging so I don’t expect them to go down. TownDawgR50 has a set he made but hasn’t fashioned mounts for yet. He has an excellent grasp of metal & fabrication so I think his insights when he fashions mounts will be invaluable. While at Overland Expo West I met up with hawairish & we climbed under his rig to look at how the RRI Super Sliders his truck came with were attached. He had some salient points that I imagine he’ll pass on to TownDawg & I’m hoping (but not really hopeful) that it’s weak points will have been addressed on my pair. One of hawairish‘ key points was that he thinks it would have been well advised to use the OEM running board mount sites & a better support of the pinch weld would have been advisable as his has been deformed a bit with use-primarily from the rear of the bar flexing up into the truck & causing some deformation. 11. I’ve seen hawairish’s bumper brackets in person & they are going to be well engineered. He’s currently tweaking for more universal application & fit & finish. Personally, I ‘m waiting for his product because it is so well thought out. As an FYI, he is building his own rear bumper too but I’m not sure if he has any distribution plans for it. The only other makers right now are ARB’s Sahara Bar & Wham (some question as to whether this is a 4th or 5th iteration of the infamous TAG/Tactical Armor Group/KMA/Blue Lake. I also spoke with Coastal Off-road in B.C. but he needs a model truck. I was going to be that model until hawairish started his project. His is simply a superior mechanical design to anything I’ve seen before. BTW, while an XJ bumper will work, it’s not a very clean fit & TownDawgR50 is removing his in favor of hawairish’s brackets for a more secure fit.
  12. Thanks for the post. I think you are the first to put on the 9449s. Just for clarity, are you getting about 4” (equal to your prior 2” from AC lift & 2” spacer)? That would be consistent with the ~4” lift the 9447s gave Micahfelker. I wasn’t sure if the 225# spring rate, vs the 175# of the 9447s, might mean they compressed less & were consequently taller once mounted under vehicle weight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. Yeah, it’s not me so much as someone else. The Auto control isn’t intimidating the way the shifter is - neither my wife nor anyone borrowing it would touch a 4WD shifter but I’m not so sure about the auto button. I’ll just need to remember to lock the hubs if anyone else uses it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Got it! BAD! Back to original worries... Thanks!
  15. Thanks, I thought that might be true. Really an argument in and of itself for manuals.
  16. Interesting, If it’s true that unlocked manual front hubs in Auto only causes warning lights & no real damage I’m much more relaxed about the manuals. Question regarding above, if you damaged a CV, couldn’t you switch the auto to 2WD & ignore it until later like above or is it still a problem versus your example above. I’m not sure I fully understand the difference. As you can tell, I like my auto for wet, mossy, packed sand, packed snow & loose top (soil or gravel) over a firm base. My biggest conundrum is that I think a Lokka would be great but maybe I need an air locker if I want to use the Auto without the autolocker clicking my away at every turn. 17. For what it's worth, I think you can still use the Auto Mode as long as the hubs are locked. If you unlock the hubs, it can damage the transmission if it is in Auto Mode. Unlocked in 2WD should be fine as well. I like my Auto mode here in the slippery & wet NW. I have also found it usefull in relatively loose but packed surfaces, such as settled sand as it tracks betters without the front wheel understeer you can get when the center diff is locked. If I put manual hubs on (and I may), my plan will be to always leave them locked if there is any chance that anyone other than myself might drive it in order to avoid having someone accidentally or at least innocently move it to Auto when then the front hubs are unlocked. People talk alot about the reliability both of assured locked and striength as well fuel economy savings of manual hubs. I'm sure this is true but I think it is only a matter of degree, I'm not entirely convinced that it's noticeable. Maybe 1-2mpg but that wouldn't be worth it to me to lose the usefullness of Auto. People talk about them breaking but I don't think I've ever actually heard of a real example of it happening. All that said, it's only because I live in the Pacific NW where it is wet 80+% of the time that I really love my Auto. Just pulling out of my residential onto a 40mph artery can cause the rears to break loose in 2WD but the grip is way too good for 4Hi (you can feel it bind at the end of the drive). The Auto works perfectly for these circumstances which I encounter daily because of my local climat.
  18. Thanks Astrorami, TownDawgR50 & adamzan. Adamzan was able to get me the 2002 (in, like, the blink of an eye)! I love this forum!!
  19. Thanks, I’ll take it (DM’d you). I’m able to get TownDawgR50’s as well (2001). Annoyingly, there are slight variations between all those years (2001, 2001.5, 2002 & 2003-4) but having the 2 adjacent years should cover 95% of it. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Please post pics. I was just about to put a Navarra one on mines& I would be interested in seeing how this alternative works out. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  21. Aargh!! I just went there today to look up something and found this out the hard way!!!

  24. Let me know how that goes. I imagine my OEM speakers are near the end of their life as well.
