  1. Let me restate that. You won’t have to worry about a camber kit. But as 88 stated you will have to get a proper alignment. The general rules I go by even before a lift is every other oil change rotate and balance your tires, and every 4th oil change get an alignment.
  2. Runnerman, Well it was just my 2 cents. The first time I change it on my Mom's GMC Van it leaked. Then I got the bolts to spec. and everything was fine.
  3. Runnerman, when you switch everything over to syn. let use know what you use. I'm doing the same in the near future. Sorry no help on the questions, stays pretty dry down here in the DS.
  4. From what I was told if you get the OME springs that have a 3/4 to 1 inch lift in the front you shouldn't have to worry about the camber, but I could be wrong, but then again I'll find out as soon as I finish the front end.
  5. I believe when they refer to comfort and medium they are referring to the rear shocks at least for 96 and up. The rear springs come in medium only and the front come in medium and heavy duty (like everyone said and what was suggested to me only get heavy duty if you are going to have a winch or heavy aftermarket bumper). The rear shocks are medium and comfort. I would stick with medium all around for the best ride/off road quality. I have the medium springs and medium rear shocks on the rear and the ride is comfortable. I have the front medium springs on order along with KYB struts, and I think I’ll be equally pleased. The only problem I have with OME stuff is that it takes along time to get. From order time to arrival sometimes can take up to 4 weeks.
  6. Nice!!!! but I think in my 2001 the space is a little larger, so I may have to fill it some how since I plan on getting the same CB as you.
  7. Don’t forget to tighten the tranny bolts to spec or it might leak. Also don’t tighten it to tight or you might strip the bolts.
  8. Pezzy, Is it the place next to the lighter and below the CD changer? I was looking at it on my way home from work and it looks like that section comes out. That would be a great place to mount a CB.
  9. Well I have a 2 Wheel Drive. I figured there were none. Thanks
  10. I second that. Lets see some pics. I think the dash on the 2001 is a little different then 1999.5.
  11. It was just a dream . Anyway I have a 2 Wheel drive and my 1 inch lift is good for me.
  12. WD40 will work but it is not good for you seals b/c it's oil based. I think that's correct at least that's what I heard.
  13. ...or you could use the AC lift and spacers and get about 5 inches.
  14. Are their any lube / grease points on R50 chassis?
  15. Thanks for all the ideas. Rosspbig how did you run the wires and cord? I though about mounting mine there but I would like to keep it out of sight as much as possible. I have decided to go with the small Uniden modal. A trucker friend of mine said it was probably a little better then Cobra. I’m going to get the smallest one they have and try to mount it in the change compartment on the left side by the door if it will fit (but I really don’t want to cut anything). I would like to put it there because it would be out of sight and the passenger won’t be able to get there hands on it. If that doesn’t work I’ll probably go with Rosspbig’s or Nick’s mounting system. Once again thank you.
  16. I’m looking for a CB radio. Any recommendations? I was looking at Cobra and would like to keep the price under $100.00. Also as you know there is very little room in the R50 to mount a C B. Any ideas on where to mount a CB? I still have my factory radio so that’s out of the question. Thanks
  17. Yes they will melt ice, and fast!!!!!
  18. Well, like a said I only notice it. I check everything I could see and it all looked good. I also took it to the stealer and they said everything was fine. It's very light. JBS, if you smell oil I would stay away from it. Look around and you'll find a good deal. I purcahsed my 2001 se in 2001 with only 600 miles on it for $21,500 (sticker was $29,000). It was a 5 speed and they could not get if off the lot. Fortantly that was what I was looking for, unfortantly it wasn't 4 wheel drive. But it has power everything except seats. Great SUV. It was the first time I walked away with a smile on my face when buying a car.
  19. shakes? mine shakes a little at idle. Well at least I notice it but no one else does. It's very light and I figured this was normal?????
  20. abomb, I just order my front OME springs and KYB struts. Should have everything in by the end of this month. I have decided to install them myself. I’ll let you know if I lose any teeth.
  21. The XE is the bottom line and the LE is the Top line. SE would be the sport edition or middle line. I'm not sure about the LE or XE but the SE does come in a 5 speed manual. That is what I have. A 2001 5 speed SE. Great ride also when towing, unless your trying to back it up a slopped drive way. Only regret I have is that its not 4 wheel drive, but they are out there.
  22. Check your brakes. They may need to be replaced or cleaned. Any other suggestions out there?
