  1. That's a nice job on the switches in the X Pezzy. You didn't borrow my idea
  2. Same here. I was getting almost 20 mpg's in the summer with my thule rack on and now that the cold weather is here it's dropped to the low 16's.
  3. headpeace - it is a thule rack., but it fits in the factory roof rack rails.
  4. Vengful - no full pics until I finish the project.
  5. Well I have been working for a while now installing the roof mounted lights on my PF. Since it is coldl and I do not have a garage progress is slow and I get alot of time to work out the details. Well one of the major problems I ran into was how to hide the wires on the roof in the factory roof rack and still make it look good. When I bought my car back in 2001 it came with two foot long rubber strips/pads stuck in the roof rack. I thought this would be a good way to cover the wires. I figured Nissan would not carry it but tried the dealer anyway. To my surprise they did. They are called roof rack pads and cost about $3.00 a pc. The fit is great and they can be cut to fit.
  6. What about Power Stop. I was looking at these for a replacement or maybe I will just go with AC's setup. Any ideas?
  7. DJ I second that where did you get the cross drilled rotors. I'm about to do the front and rear, etc and would like to upgrade the rotors.
  8. tiagoqx4 - I am going to mount my antenna to my Thule roof rack. I figure the higher the better, and when it's not in use I was going to get this attachment that lets me fold it down. At least that's the plan.
  9. Or you could trade in your 4wd PF for a 2wd and then lift it, and then you don't have to worry about the cv angles..That's what I did. ok ok I never had a 4 wheel drive pathfinder
  10. t0ast - yes it does fit perfect. no cutting. Just pop it in. maximusnt - true you could order them at one time but the company that made them for nissan stopped making them a while ago.
  11. I replaced mine a while back. And as it got colder they started to make some noise. I just tighten them a little each time until the noise stopped. I myself was also afraid of over tightening them.
  12. Thanks everyone. It was a real simple mod. All I used was 3 Pilot switches from AutoZone, a small sheet of clear .093 lexan polycarbonate that I cut to size, and can of fusion black spray paint that I used to cover the back side. I drilled two whole on the inside of the coin tray/fuse box cover to run the wires. I cut the Lexan almost to perfect size so it was a perfect pressure fit. No screws or glue. Plus it makes removing it very easy. The switch are all for lights but I don’t have them all installed yet. The three custom switches are for the rear lights (installed), side lights (installed), top front lights (soon to be installed). The factory looking switch was a junk yard find off an old Sentra which I will use to power the lights on my front runner bumper at soon at I get the front runner bumper. As soon as I get more then 5 min to work on it I’ll take some more pictures.
  13. I have had an issue while installing my aux lights, and that is where to install the switches. I wanted to put then some where, where they couldn't be reached by the passenger and etc. This was my solution.
  14. Don't the instructions come with the filter? I have to replace mine very soon.
  15. I was going to use a fiberglass antenna and just buy an attachment so I can fold it down on my thule rack when I'm not using it. I figure it won't look out of place with the bike rack, lights and everything that is and will be up on top.
  16. tiagoqx4 - keep your 2WD Pathy. We have to stick together on this list. 2WD rule, 4WD drool. Just Kidding.
  17. Pezzy - I real like where you put your CB. Did you have to do any cutting behind the dash to make it fit? In my 01 PF I have to cut away at the inner dash and I really don't want to do that. I'm thinking of installing a new CD player and then installing my CB in the free space below that.
  18. Water pump maybe? But yours being a 02 I wouldn't think. If it only happens at cold temp and goes away I wouldn't worry too much about it. I live here in TN and in the winter one day it could be 60 degrees F, and the next day 30 degrees F causing my PF to make some funny noise sometimes. I'll give you a hint. When it comes to funny noises and the dealer, if it's not making the noise when you take it in they probably won't find it, and if you go back to many times they will find something but it won't be the cause of the noise.
  19. If you don't want much of a lift I would go with the OME front and rear springs. It's about a 1 inch lift or less. As you can see from my picture its not that much higher then stock. The dif comes in the ride and towing. When I hook my loaded trailer with the Old Man Emu springs, I see very little sinking in the rear, and I get a lot more control. Besides that you can always go with the Air Bag System which would be less expensive. Your options are Air Bags, OME 1 inch lift, and 2 inch lift made by ???? (someone on here knows). Also just to note my Pathfinder is 2 wheel drive so I didn't want much of a lift myself.
  20. Pathfinder r50's rear suspension sucks..Uprade Upgrade!!
  21. Well I went to the Junk Yard today in search of a factory looking fog/off road light switch, and I would like to say I was successful. I found two of a Nissan Maxima, forgot what year (the boxy one), but they were kind of bulky. I got them anyway but after installing one I realized that they did not have an indicator light and they stuck out to much, but the fit in the dash was good. But I also found another one off a very old Nissan Stanza or Sentra which fit perfect and did have an indicator light. I used this one and as soon as I get a chance I will take a picture. If you are interested it was a (Swann Series 81 switch), I checked the internet but could only find a Series 82 witch did not have an indicator light. I was kind of happy that the switch worked and looked good, but unfortunately I could only find one. And since I still want to install a set of roof mounted side lights and roof mounted off road lights in addition to my rear back up lights I search some more and here is what I came up with. I will try one of these next time I install some light. First the Toyota aux light switch product code (5832864097 cole hersee switch) or one of the cole hersee marina switch which look like that would fit. See the link below. http://www.boatersworld.com/bm/switchesrocker/ColeHersee/ This might work also: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/4Runner/tech/switch/
  22. amb – It could be that both o2 sensors are bad. That is what happened to my 2001 pathfinder. Another thing you might want to check on is getting your computer updated. It will cost you $70 but may be worth it. The reason I say this is because from 600 miles up to 38,000 miles I had replaced both left and right rear O2 sensors and my Valve Timing Sensor. When they replaced my last O2 sensor I told them that I heard you could update the computer and that this might help. Well I’m at 53,000 miles now and have not had a problem since they updated. It kind of made me wonder if they really had to replace the VTS and the O2 sensors. It could have saved me some $$$ if I did the update first. I’m not saying that this is your problem but it is something to think about.
  23. I’m assuming it is set up the same as the 2001 with the rear shock mounts dropping down from the diff., and not like the older modals with the pinch bolts. I haven’t noticed if one was closer to the tire then the other but I have noticed that one of the mounting bolts is angled more up on the passenger side then the drivers side.
