  1. I have been dealing with a coolant leak at the coolant crossover pipe flanges. Not super sure if the 3.3 has this but its an aluminum pipe that transfers coolant from one cylinder head to the other on the back side, right up against the firewall. No detectable leak other than a sweet odor from the antifreeze when parked. Some have had luck changing the associated gaskets without dropping the transmission but I was not that lucky. Impossible to get a tool on the lower fasteners with the transmission installed and the pair in the vehicle.
  2. Did you ever install an external trans cooler? I have the 3.5 and added one for towing but it caused in increase in the time it takes to shift into OD. Takes even longer in the winter. Might have a blockage, flow issue or just need a new sensor as mentioned. When was the last time the trans fluid was serviced?
  3. And, big thanks to you, Bax03SE, for the LR spring tech info. Huge gain in options for the community including myself.
  4. Absolutely agree with you. I've had the best forum based experiences here. Also met some really great people in the flesh that I became familiar with through the forum that I now consider friends.
  5. I had never heard of or seen either of those Suzuki models prior to moving up here. Both really capable and unique little rigs. Id like to make a large plate or block to place behind the carrier mounts to help spread the load as well as to tie into the rest of the internal structure. Maybe even see if I cant just grab a cut off a junkyard rig and weld that in.
  6. Winching the larger logs out of the way The rain Sunday morning made a really deep 90 degree drop off at a creek crossing that caused some damage to my swing-out tire carrier. I came off the ledge and landed on my hitch then the rear mounted 33". The weight of the truck was resting on the 33 and the only damage was minimal considering all the load on it. The lower mount had the rear facing rivnut pulled out slightly and the passenger side shoved in. Not really that bad but there is room for improvement. Would this have happened to a factory equipped rig? Hard to say. I think damage would have been sustained but not as bad. I'll pull it soon, fix the body and reinforce the panel.
  7. Had a great weekend working with the US Forest Service for the annual trail clearing event at Liberty. Wheeling and working, at least for me, is super fun. This year our club was assigned the eastern side of the region. Rained on Sunday morning making for some very muddy sections and zero trail dust which is really nice when there are lots of rigs.
  8. Did a check of the new rear end hardware. Passenger side adjustable trailing arm needed tightening. I also want to lengthen my bump stops to keep the tires from tucking too much. There is a little bit of noise that was present before the lift, assuming its U-joints but not sure, but its a mild throttle on/off related clunk. Pinion angle is good so I dont think its the rear end but I cant rule that out. Other than that so far so good with the new 6" setup.
  9. Its pretty fun. We camp, wheel and clear downed trees and foliage all weekend. Plus we get administrative access to closed trails all season long for the same purpose. Check with your local FS ranger district. If they don't already have something in place I'm sure they would help organize an event.
  10. https://www.cleelumtrails.com/work-information Cle Elum ranger district is hosting the free Chainsaw cert class/ trail clearing weekend again May 19-20 at Liberty. Come get your US Forest service Sawyer/Volunteer cert and receive a free NW Forest pass for your work that weekend as well (minimum amount of hours required) Wheeling while you work! I did it last year. Super fun. Help keep the trails open that we all use by clearing trails for the upcoming year.
  11. Its just an extra step. Never had any problems or felt forced with grinding.
  12. You'll need the front 4.6 diff to make it work. Cant run a 4.3 front diff with a 4.6 rear axle. otherwise everything is the same
  13. For example, when running high speed forest roads, most of the time its open and graded and Ill shift into 4H from 2H at speed no issues at all. Then when I encounter an obstacle, mud, hill climb etc i just hop out and lock the hubs
  14. I tend to shift into 4h with the hubs unlocked as I approach areas that might need 4x4. Then just hop out and lock or unlock as needed
  15. I do not have any issues with my manual T-Case going from 2H to 4H or 4L with my hubs unlocked. Do it regularly on the trails and always use 4L unlocked to move my trailer.
  16. First large haul today. Estimating 3-400lbs of wet, fresh cut cherry wood. Not really sure what the weight was but the springs had minimal droop. Felt it in braking and hill climbs though. Pretty good load. unloaded partial load Loaded
  17. Spent some time with Ferrariowner123 today doing a side by side comparison for fitting the factory offset license plate frame. Its doable but not a direct fit. Contours are different.
  18. Hubs work just fine with the newer rigs. My truck is an 01, but I believe Hawairish has an 03 and runs hubs with his locker.
  19. Super nice Q!! Those wheels look great too! Kind of similar to the TRD 4runner alloys.
  20. what do you think your tounge weight was? I feel like that factor is going to make or break these 9448's for me. I need to make a beefy drop hitch before I can hook up and try it out.
  21. Did a moderate to high speed run on some local FS roads near my place with Ferrariowner123 this weekend. 9448 springs handle the rough terrain at speed very well. Not too stiff to rattle the truck apart but still handled large ruts and holes great and held the truck firm and upright in cornering without feeling like the rear would break loose. So far they are worth every penny of the 80 bucks it took to getm to my door Load test with my trailer is next
  22. I bought an Ace Hardware chip key and it worked intermittently for a few days then stopped all together. I dont reccomend them.
