  1. Nice!! Any idea how much tounge weight with your trailer? Seems similar to the loads I anticipate w 4 dogs and gear in back plus my toy hauler. Hows it feel going down the road loded?
  2. Great work! Really looking forward to incorporating your hardware into my setup.
  3. Absolutely normal. If its that cold Cuong is right. Blocking part of the radiator is a way to help temps get where they are supposed to be and you can drive it around normally with it blocked. Just keep an eye on your temp guage but at 23 below I doubt you will have any problems. I have an an external trans cooler and even in our mild climates it causes my truck to not want to hit overdrive until temps come up to operating temps.
  4. I making my own replacement. Yuu can see how much the bumper moved after the snatch recovery. The gap on the drivers side wasnt there when I initially mounted it. All that movement was from the sheet metal that the threaded nuts are welded to giving out
  5. I have an XJ bumper. I dont recommend any XJ units becuase they leave critical areas exposed, with no protection for the radiator support and requires the removal or modification of the airbox, washer fluid reservoir and coolant reservoir. With some work these issues can be fixed but the amount of time invested plus additional steel that would be needed make them a bad choice in my mind. I made super beefy mounts for mine and the bumper has done OK for my wheeling needs with the exception of snatch style recovery. I was yanked out of deep snow which stressed the lower OEM sheet metal that the threaded holes are welded to. the XJ recovery points are designed for the factory XJ mounts, which are almost directly behind the shackle mounts on the bumpers. When installed on the R50 the OEM bumper mounts are significantly lower causing huge amounts of leverage to be applied when pulling from the shackle points on the XJ bumpers. Really looking forward to replacing my XJ unit. Chalked it up to R&D.
  6. Got my 9448's today. Very fast shipping. Really interested to see how they hold up to my 18ft toy hauler compared to my OME's. I suspect they won't peform as well off road unless I have a load of camp gear, passengers or dogs but I haul so often its worth the tradeoff if these pan out
  7. I couldn't tell you. Only time I lock my hubs is when I use 4x4.
  8. I run the Lokka in snow, on and off road with no problems. Steering is heavier and the turning radius not as good but overall works fine for me. Keep your speeds low with throttle light and controlled, as it should be for all motorists in snowy conditions regardless of having 4x4 or not.
  9. Coolant cross over pipe on the back of the motor is a common source for leaks. Its a cast aluminum piece that connects water passages on both cylinder heads. Look for coolant on the bell housing and back side of the motor
  10. 3.5 alt is a pain. I was able to get it done in about 1.5 hours but the real time saver would be a ratcheting 10mm box wrench. Trust me. The 2 or 3 nuts on the back of the alt alone warrant buying that wrench. Wish I had.
  11. Looking good, Micah! You gunna be in town for christmas/NYE?
  12. After a quick look on the LRDirect website, it shows a range of brands for the NRC9448 part number, ranging from £12.5 to £72 ($16 to $96 USD). Which did you go with?
  13. Perfect. Thank you! Maybe place that exact info in the first post or make it a sticky so its not burried in the thread?
  14. Love the efforts you both have made and thank you for sharing your findings. It benefits us all and is greatly appreciated. So to recap, you went with Land Rover Defender front HD springs NRC9447 that provided a 2.5" lift after cutting 1 coil?
  15. x2 on the front Lokka. then with the money saved turn around and get a TJM rear air locker
  16. Make an adapter? Some 1/4 plate and a retainer should do the job. Or can you return the springs for a refund?
  17. I prefer the brilliant white interior lamps. I found that my interior lights end up being crucial for camping or wheeling at night though my gauges are still incandescent bulbs that I keep on the lowest setting for driving.
  18. The body colors in this shot look really good together
  19. Didnt go on the run with them. Met up for coffee and bs'n prior to their depature. Good to meet you all. Lets do this again soon.
  20. Run to old mines outside of North Bend Safeway tomorrow. 930am. Rollout at 10am. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/North+Bend,+Washington+98045/47.659152,-121.5820906/47.6616847,-121.5502408/47.6742544,-121.5075859/North+Bend,+WA/@47.5883445,-121.78765,43720m/am=t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m17!4m16!1m5!1m1!1s0x549a7f9a339b05e5:0xdac9a882d03f5cab!2m2!1d-121.7867775!2d47.4956579!1m0!1m0!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x549a7f9a339b05e5:0xdac9a882d03f5cab!2m2!1d-121.7867775!2d47.4956579!3e0?shorturl=1
  21. Hey everyone- Anyone interested in organizing for an impromptu meet anytime from today to the weekend following thanksgiving? Not all of us will be here after Wed but dont let that stop you from getting out. MicahFelker is in town as well and available to meet. Thoughts are a coffee/food meetup near the Seattle area and/or a short forest road run off HWY 90, east of Issaquah with trails that will most likely have moderate amounts of snow. Open to any other suggestions. Nothing in stone yet. Olympics? Northern Cascades? Interested so far 1) Raingoat 2)FerrariOwner 3)TowndawgR50 4)MichaFelker
