  1. I decided to install a spring kit for my rear drum brakes today and when I opened up the drivers side the adjusting hardware was all missing except for the cable guide and star wheel assembly. I'm missing the cable assembly, the little adjuster arm that rotates the star wheel, and the spring associated with that arm. I can find kits all day long for fords, dodges, and chevys, but nothing for nissans. And looking at diagrams they don't really show anything of use and not every part code is listed either. I've attached a screenshot of a similar kit to show what I'm after. I need everything for the drivers side and I also need the adjuster arm for the passenger side since it's been bent all out of wack over the years. I'm not 100% sure what else I could be looking on at the pick n pulls to be able to find these little pieces but everything I've found so far either has a smaller axle than the h233b or is the newer style found from 89 on up. If it comes down to it I was planning on just updating everything back there, but I'd much rather find these much needed parts. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  3. Got sent the wrong oxygen sensor for my frontier yet again, and finally got part of the templates made for my bumper they came out really nice and everything else should be a piece of cake once I have the center section built. Using foam board is super easy with a sharp razor blade Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  4. Damn dude, I'm sorry I hope it's all an easy fix for you. It was looking really good! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  5. Check the positive lead on the starter, I've had one come loose and due to rust and oil build up it acted like a bad starter/ no start condition. It could even be your trigger wire for the starter, it's in the same area. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  6. They should be the same all the way up to 95, they're cheap at a pick n pull in my area but I'm not sure about yours. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  7. I'm guessing they rusted AND rattled? Lol Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  8. The camshaft position sensor in my 240sx went bad and you could clearly feel it while under load. If it's going bad you'll be able to clearly see it if you hook the test lead of a timing light to the main wire coming from the ignition coil. And to add to this it's the bearing under the sensor that goes bad and allows there to be enough play in the unit to allow the degree wheel to come in contact with the sensor "eye". Once this is damaged there's no going back. You can get just the bearing and the sensor separately and replace them yourself or you can get a new/reman distributor. I've always just rebuilt mine and called it a day, I did this when I got my frontier. It was so bad you could see the debris from the bearing all over the inside. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  9. I went to 5 different places and nobody had any, it had already been crushed... so I just went the easy route and got some foam board from the $ store. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  10. Got the foam board for templates, just have to wait til Monday to have the winch delivered now Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  11. Drove 2 hours and got all the metal I'll need to build my front bumper, now I just need to find out how I'm gonna get it all welded up. My winch will be here tomorrow so I'm super excited about that Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  12. Try removing the resistor box in the head box directly behind the glove box and see if it's melted or damaged. Without that you won't have a working fan on any speed. Also make sure there's no leaves in the box that could potentially cause a fire. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  13. From digging around more I've discovered that the brakes I have are on 87 and 88 model pathfinders which explains why I didn't find anything like that in the pick n pulls I've been to. And as for the retainer pin, the little flat tip broke off as I was trying to remove the drum. I'm ordering a hardware set just to make sure everything is good to go. And I also found out my issue for them not staying adjusted, the little stop tab was bent away from the star wheel. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  14. Here's another issue I've come across. The middle pin is what I removed from the other kind of rear drum brakes. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  15. Here's what's under my drums. I've never seen the rear drums set up like this. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  16. Yes I put one in Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  17. Just looked it up online and even the diagrams on there show the same sort of dimpled back plate as my dad's d21. So tomorrow I'll be removing the rear drums and taking a look at what's underneath. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  18. Here's a pic of what I've got, my dad's 93 d21, and my 01 frontier. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  19. 25mph through my neighborhood and it's a pretty unsettling feeling. It's night and day between leaf springs and coils. Maybe I'm just really used to the way my frontier rides? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  20. Anyone have experience with this? I went to a different hard today and didn't find anything like mine there either.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. Quick question about the rear drum brakes on my 87 pathfinder. The little star wheel adjuster is on the bottom of my drums and every single nissan I looked at in the junkyard 2 days ago all the way from an 87 z24i hardbody to a 94 pathfinder had the adjustment slot on the top side. Also my backing plates are flat and on everything I looked at there is a dimple where my adjustment hole is on my pathfinder. I've never come across this issue or read of anyone else. My pathfinder was built in 01/87 so maybe an early model thing? I'll know more tomorrow but as of right now I'm dealing with rear brakes that won't hold an adjustment so from looking through the slot I'm under the impression that the locking tab for the star wheel is either damaged or rusted away. I have hardware to replace it with but since I discovered this discrepancy with the adjusters placement I'm unsure if what I have will work now. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. Rebuilt the front calipers and installed new brake pads, tomorrow is rear brakes.. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  23. I'm probably going to put it back in. I only removed it when I was replacing the rear springs and I had to cut the old end links off and have yet to get new ones Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  24. To be honest I have no idea what that is. Maybe a warm up assist type thing? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  25. The only time I've ever seen a damaged hinge was from physical damage like what Slartibartfast mentioned or rust splitting the plastic open around the hinge pin itself. If be more worried about something hitting the glass and breaking it than the hinges allowing the glass to flex too much. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
