  1. I like what you've done here. Did you record the process for a DIY of these installs? I'd love to add a 12V to my trunk and illuminate the rear passenger one. I want my pathfinder to look like a space ship, the more LEDs the better haha
  2. Topped up coolant and drained and refilled the transmission fluid. When I checked it from the dipstick it looked quite red still. But when I let it out it was much darker than I expected. Nice fresh red fluid in her belly now I love new fluids. Makes me feel good lol.
  3. It's from shoppers drug mart. They have a small, this one and a larger one. I needed one for more average every day kind of boo boos as my current kit is an actual combat trauma kit to stop some serious blood loss. A bunch of left over kit from my Tour. I'm qualified tactical combat casualty care. Some of the methods are illegal to use in Canada, such as needle decompression or even the use of tourniquets, but a lot of the treatments for combat wounds can be applied to car accident victims.
  4. Good point on the stealing. Never thought of that as that never happened to me. I did install the RNS-E in my S4 all by myself but as it is an OEM unit it was plug and play, added a Bluetooth module and was all set. With all the above info I might actually give this a shot as you laid it all out for me!! Thanks!!
  5. Also found this little first aid kit that has attachment loops in the perfect spot for this:
  6. Awesome info Hawairish! Thanks for that. I don't have the Bose unit in mine so I most likely don't have the Bose amp either. In size comparison the new unit is about 5mm smaller all around than the original so I would need a trim of sorts. The adapters are available in store and don't cost much. I guess I'll just bite the bullet of the 1/2 hour labour plus tax. I hate electrical wiring lol. It's a miracle I was able to do the things I've done in my truck so far, especially the wireless backup camera...I'm sure I could manage if I bought a solder iron. But my to do list is getting quite long. The S4 needs new control arms and I'm already dealing with snapped stuck bolts there...
  7. Haha no don't worry, was just phishing for reactions lol. I'm just baby-sitting the Wrangler for a friend. But I DO like it! And even though I love my PF, some day when my funds have filled back up, I will most likely get one of these. But for now, this is what I've done: Got my bulbs I missed in my initial order for the HVAC. I attempted to put in my new head unit but discovered I need a lot more than what comes provided with the unit so I got an appointment next Saturday at future shop to put this in, to complete my transformation to all blue interior dash lights Also cleaned out my idler pulley, hopefully the squealing will be gone.
  8. ^^ good to know!! Did you take it off for that? Or just removed the belt?
  9. Thanks for this, I have the start up squeal too, 2-3 seconds. Sprayed it with belt lubricant but didn't really make a difference. So you're saying tighter made it better...interesting. I was thinking mine were too tight maybe. I'll check back after I tinker around with this a bit.
  10. Haha yeah....hard to justify for a truck I only paid $3G for lol. But if I ever come across a local opportunity from a totaled ER that might be a game changer.
  11. I wouldn't mind trying the spacer, but not willing to pay $100 for it. I'll see if I can get a piece made to extend it. Just wondering if you need a cone filter for it as it wouldn't fit between the air box and the intake. I would just want a little more power out of this motor. I'll get to the exhaust when it needs to be replaced, I'll look into a custom setup, better flow, bigger diameter.
  12. Interesting. How do you reset the ECU? Battery disconnect? What about throttle body intake spacers? Worth it? I have intake manifold spacers on my S4 increasing the total volume and reducing temperatures, and I notice they made a difference but that's quite different from essentially adding an inch to the intake tube. Thoughts?
  13. Yeah the price tag is definitely hefty for what you get. I've had bad experiences with intakes, can't say I ever really noticed any gains or has mileage improvements. Just better sound. Any idea how the drop in filter does on the 3.3? Some intake systems are best from factory, but a K&N drop in can help. Not sure if that applies to this motor.
  14. *correction* ...come across a lot of home made...
  15. Talking of aftermarket support, and since the 3.3 is used in the older Xterra's too, was wondering if the K&N Xterra's intake will fit on the PF? It seems like it should. I've come a lot of home made intakes on this forum for this very reason, but has anyone done the Xterra intake?
  16. So you're telling me I have to stop driving through puddles of gasoline? Dammit!!
  17. Their website has me convinced that this is a pretty good product. Lockers are not in my near future plans. I hope someone will try this out on an R50.
  18. Yeah it was the upper shock mount. I had initially put it on with the impact wrench and when it stopped going on I left it at that. Must have not paid attention as I was able to crank quite a bit more with my breaker bar. The monitor is pretty big lol, it can actually also display other sources if I hooked any up. I picked this up on kijiji for $40 so really can't complain. Was new in box still! And it sends a wireless signal so no need to run a wire all the way through the car. I have a trailer and a boat so I like to see when I'm backing up, which on boat launches can be quite a bit.
  19. FOUND THE KNOCKING/RATTLE!!! I'm so happy now. The rear shock wasn't tightened enough so it had some room, hence the knocking of metal on metal sound. Phew, huge sigh of relief. Also received new iPad mount. Using it for my back up monitor. This one is much sturdier than the first one.
  20. Hawairish, that sounds great! We definitely need more people with skills to start making our own stuff and sell it to this community. I would definitely get a 2.5 subframe drop. In a way having a truck that by now is this cheap, has barely any AM support and is less complicated that many modern cars is brining out the creativity on us. I have never cut, punctured or otherwise altered parts on a vehicle before. I would either do normal maintenance / repairs or replace OEM parts with go fast parts. On my cars that is. I have to admit I enjoy working on it like this, but it is frustrating to not now and then just buy a nice part.
  21. IF your AC compressor works lol. Mine hasn't worked since I've owned it. Definitely a summer problem. I charged the system and it would run cold for a day, the next it was blowing hot air again. The dealer said it was my compressor. They aren't too expensive to buy but for some reason are super expensive to ship!
  22. This Xterra!!!!! Amazing build, wish there was even half this much aftermarket support for the Pathy!
